Good grocery store. Bit of an odd layout. Always we'll-stocked and, if not, honor rain checks without hassle. Bakery is always great. Bagels and donuts are top-notch and specialty cakes are delicious. Deli dept has always been solid. Sales and digital coupons keep prices in check. Online pickup orders are handled well, and better than other Shop Rites in the area. Only gripe is the meat dept. Not sure what's going on but we've thrown out more meat from this store than any other, due to premature spoilage. Not worth the trip back with bad meat. We did it a couple times when we opened it the same day we bought, and before date on package. We just stopped buying meat here after throwing out (or returning) a good amount of $$ over the last year or so. Overall, a good grocery store.

This shop rite was very up-to-date and remodeled. The layout of the store was unlike any S.R. I've been in. Clean, the staff were all friendly and helpful. They don't have motorized shopping carts. This location sells the ends of the cold cuts and cheese at half price, not all shoprites do that.

My wife placed an online order on 1/7/24 for 1/8/24. In the morning of 1/8/24 she received a text stating that the 5lb bag of potato's and the package of tomato's was out of stock and there was nothing in the store to replace them.After calling the Nutley Shoprite for 3 hours to try and speak to the online shopping which I left two messages and got no return calls I called to speak to either of the two store managers at 1:32 for a total of 42 minutes and was hung up on twice, the customer service rep Margaret said neither one could be found and I was placed on hold and was hung up on again, I then called back and spoke to Angel and was told that neither store manager was around. Within a few minutes the manager Ron called and did nothing to correct the problem he said the order was placed with Belleville Shoprite, my wife looked online and it said the order was placed with NutleyShoprite. Do yourself a favor and place all you online orders through Brookdale Shoprite in Bloomfield NJToday 9/1/23, I purchased a 16oz. container of Wholesome Pantry Spinach and when I wanted to use it tonight in a dish I was making more than half of it was rotten. This is a normal occurrence with this Shoprite, cucumbers are frozen, banana's turn from green to brown without turning yellow. You are better shopping for fruit and vegetables at the Farmers Mkt. in Belleville, everything is half the price and better quality. Attached are some photos.

I've been Long time customer, but I decided to try the made to order sushi bar a few days ago. Immediately I was meet with an attitude because one of the rolls I ordered was apparently "pre made" and sitting in a cooler. I told the lady I didn't want that one. 1st off it was a 15 piece tray, i ordered a smaller portion, and secondly I'm unsure on how long it had been sitting out already made, and I'd prefer it made fresh. She starting angrily rambling what I could only imagine to be curse words in chinese.... while angrily preparing our food..... long story short. We went to eat our sushi dinner and found that it was some of the absolute worst sushi we have ever tasted. It tasted off, Immediately we discarded of it. And ordered take out..... it's upsetting because we spent over $25 dollars on several rolls and had to order another meal completely. I would have shrugged off the attitude that the employees gave me, had the sushi just been good. But it was horrid tasting, So I cannot let this one slide.

I really enjoy shopping here. Everything is fresh and well stocked. The store is clean and the workers are very nice and helpful. What more could you ask? Maybe for a bigger parking lot but that really doesn't concern me too much.

I cannot say enough good things about ShopRite of a Nutley Catering. I always get rave review whether I get fruit, cheese, or dessert platters! Their sandwiches are stand out as well! Very affordable and a great quality!

Local supermarket with everything you need and everything you expect to find in a supermarket. They have excellent service, the bakery department has amazing bagels and bread,made fresh daily. The meat is excellent and the variety is huge.

This shoprite is usually awesome. Great bakery and awesome cheese selection but today I purchased a bag of avocados and they looked like this. Had to throw the whole bag out.

I consider nutley ShopRite my hometown supermarket, I have no issues I love it. Although they are more often than not short on their vitamins. Otherwise they're good for me.

Love ShopRite. Been going there since I was a kid. Next to Trader Joe's, it's my 2nd go to. I am a loyal TJ employee, so it's my #1. But ShopRite has it all in all departments. Why go elsewhere (other than TJs) ?

This place really went down hill. They remove products I used to buy, and I bought lamb chops the other day and the expiration said 1/3/2023 and they were already rotten.

One of the best run grocery stores I’ve seen! A pleasure to shop there! Friendly, helpful staff, never a huge line, enough space to move, very wide merchandise selection! It should stand as a model for any other grocery stores! Love it!

Love it!! Has everything thats on sale and is always fully stocked. Three parking lots. Never a problem with parking. Self check out should be limited to small or medium sized orders.Update: there is a sign for self checkouts that limits order size, and they have also added more self checkouts at either end of the store. So overall a great shopping experience!!

This ShopRite is so AWESOME. Every single aisle is very organized, the produce section is clean and inviting. The deli counters and salad bar are always clean and properly arranged with delicious food. The staff is extremely friendly and parking has a strategic ease of flow. AND their bakery department is phenomenal.... Superb to say the least.

Went to nutley ShopRite today and I can’t believe what they are doing now. The fact that you have to bring your own bags ,they don’t have any baggers, there are hardly any lanes open. NOW they have the nerve to put up signs to tell you if you want to use the self checkout it has to be 25 items or less. What ever happened to customer service. It’s not express checkout it’s self checkout so why is there a item limit if we’re ringing up our item bagging our own items and paying for our items. Their is no customer service whatsoever. What a shame.

Don’t go to this ShopRite if you’re a minority! I sent my partner to go grab some things here before he came back home from working AND going to classes, and he was followed around the store the whole time. All because he is a Hispanic male. Honestly very upset that this happened because all he wanted to do was buy his things and leave. Instead he was STALKED around the store by one of your employees who is also a minority. How ironic! This ShopRite should be ashamed of themselves point blank. That employee should be retrained or fired for this disgusting display of discrimination.

I used to always go to Nutley Shop Rite until a new Shop Rite opened on Washington Ave in Belleville. I like the underground parking there. But i have been to Nutley my last 2 times. Its a nice store in a nice neighborhood .

I personally think this shoprite is the best in the entire state of NJEVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE PERFECT till you try their sub sandwiches pre-made and placed in a refrigerated caseThe sandwich maker or makers apparently never learned how to make sandwiches their entire lifeThe slice fat slices of the lowest level ham all wet taste like 99 cents a pound and just lay it on the sub roll and since they call it the Italian sun they paper thin cut a slice of salami you need glasses to find and 2 slices of provolone that is so invisible does not pay to put it on the sub the since they call it a Italian sub they add some shriveled up lettuce pinch of tomatoI am a top chef for 50 years its the worse made sub sandwiches in the entire state of New Jersey comparing it to the other shoprite locationsThe owner should try one of his homemade Italian sub sandwiches around 6pm and if he does not fire the sandwich makers then they must be his relativesForget the roast beef subs the roast beef is like roast beef ends big slap all Grey color no red and they add American cheese that again must be at a low low level I personally have never seen

I’ve shopped at this location for years and things are starting to go downhill. Prices going up, although they are everywhere too. While they have a wide variety of items, the produce has been old and rotting lately. Organic produce section is small and also usually old looking. Some staff are very polite, I’ve encountered others with attitudes that don’t want to be there. The bakery section is delicious; I’ve gotten a cake here for my daughter and everyone raved about it. Deli section is usually crowded with everyone wanting fresh cuts. I once wanted to get a sandwich made fresh and was told by a lazy worker to choose from one already made that wasn’t what I desired… no thanks.

I'm usually pleasantly surprised that I can find everything I'm looking for here. This time was no different as far as merchandise/products are concerned. I have a different issue. They have enough handicapped parking spaces, but unlike other Shop-Rites, there is not one mobility scooter available because I was told they don't have any. I was with a person who uses a wheelchair; we each had rather extensive lists, and we had to combine everything into one shopping cart to practically overflowing. Separating our goods was hellish, so we had to use self checkout, and still needed assistance from staff to ring it up and have it bagged. My point is if she could have used a scooter, she would have had her own basket, I would not have been pushing a mountain of goods in a cart; we could have checked out in a more timely and civilized manner; it would have been obvious that this retailer appreciates the business of and makes accommodations for people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, people with mobility issues (such as an arm or leg in a cast, or just using crutches). Showing that little bit of consideration matters. Stop to consider what you would do if you were in a wheelchair, had to use a cane, walker or rollator, were on crutches, were in your second or third trimester of your pregnancy--and suppose you had a toddler with you, had your arm in a cast or sling. It matters. Do better Shop-Rite of Nutley.
