Very first time at the day care. People are very nice/accommodating. Our dog Chocolate seemed to enjoy the experience. Will keep you posted..I wanted to update. My dog Chocolate is in love with Pups@Play staff and clients. He has been at day care and boarding and is so happy every time he attends a program at your facility. There is something magical about this place. Lucky us, that we found such a beautiful, loving environment for Chocolate. Thank you!Where are we at with Pups and Play? Chocolate loves every minute of his time with human and dog friends. We have a quiet home and Chocolate loves dogs. The second we tell him he is on his way to doggie day care, he is right at the door. Chocolate is the greatest dog that ever existed, keeping in mind, we are his caretakers. Chocolate feels that when he is at this facility, he is the best. He feels loved, and can run and jump and is watched over by a group with a twinkle in their eyes when they look at the dogs in their care. Have a wonderful holiday and Chocolate looks forward to many fun times with you all.

Ziggy barks and jumps with excitement just hearing the words “Pups at Play”. I know he has fun, plays hard and is well looked after. The staff knows him well and genuinely cares about him! We love P@P!EDITED DECEMBER 2023Going from 5 stars to 1 star!Pups has gone downhill ever since Destination Pet took over the place. They have gotten rid of their loving and caring staff, amend policies that made for puppy parent convenience and overall just is no longer the warm friendly place it used to be. Sadly, we will not be returning to Pups in Montclair anymore.

My dogs love pups at play. They are well taken care of and have so much fun there. I can see pictures of them posted on Instagram and check in anytime. The staff is super friendly and reliable. We have boarded them here many times and also have them groomed here. Highly recommend.

This place is a heaven for fur babies. Most reliable so far in my experience. I had to travel for 10 days and I had never left my 14 months golden retriever so I was super nervous. But when I found Pups@play montclair, all my worries were put to rest. Masti (my dog) had the best time here and the team send photos and videos every single day which I was always eagerly waiting for to see how he was doing. Masti had the best time of play and it also made him more calmer after he came home because now he is more comfortable with other dogs. Pups@play not only took a great care of him but also gave him peanut butter kong which is Masti's absolute favorite. Best part about this place is, your fur baby is not caged all day along but instead they are having a constant play time and the team is 100% monitoring them. If you are looking for dog summer camp/ slumber party style, this is your place. I highly recommend this place and Masti has definitely found his boarding slumber party place if ever I have to travel.

We are honestly crushed that we had to say goodbye to Pups at Montclair due to new management. Ciara Knots has officially crushed the spirit of pups at Montclair. We always looked forward to dropping off our dog where we felt he was being taken care of by staff members who appreciated him being there. This new manager has changed or reinforced policy or procedure that wasn’t previously implemented. It’s sad because we have been coming here for years but my husband and I decided that after some incident that it’s best our dog doesn’t attend. I hope all the people who continue to take their furry family do not have a negative encounter like we did with new management but I think we all feel the loss from the previous manager who really cared for our fur babies. Next time there should be an email regarding new changes of management so that we are aware that they might make changes that will affect our dogs instead of threatening to terminate our membership with pups at Montclair over an incident that could have been avoided if the staff members had done their job properly however we knew that with this new management that we probably wouldn’t have stayed any longer and this was the last straw for us. We used to look forward to social media posts but with this new manager there was no longer any posts, or holiday photos. The environment has completely changed and noticed it instantly when we brought our pup home and felt that he wasn’t well taken care of. We hope that those who continue to bring their dogs are aware that this new management wants to start getting rid of what she thinks are the “problem dogs” when in reality she doesn’t know what she is doing and is making it hard for those who have been coming for years to now find a new facility for our fur babies. Since we no longer feel welcome we were glad to take our dog out of this negative environment. Peace out pups at Montclair we are never coming back and you can thank your new manager.

Pups at Play in Montclair takes amazing care of my dog!! They also give great grooming/baths after. She comes home happy and smelling great! They are also so accommodating and kind when our flights were delayed so they had to keep our dog 2 extra nights. We love it there and trust them fully with our little best friend! :)

Pups at play took care of my dog while I was on vacation for 4 days. They were amazing to work with and so sweet! My dog has anxiety and doesn’t do well with other dogs but they handled him so great and took such great care of him. I will absolutely be going back to them for future trips and would recommend to anyone!

We can't say enough great things about Pups@Play Montclair. The staff are so wonderful, patient and loving with all the dogs that come through the front door. Our Violet loves it here! We took her for her first grooming ever, and what a beautiful job the Pups@Play groomer did. This is her second home!

Today I dropped my 3 1/2 month old frenchie at Pups @ Play for the first time. I am a first time dog owner and it was my dogs first day there. Everyone was so helpful and reassuring from making the appointment all the way to picking him up at the end of the day! Tony was happy and playful when I walked in and seemed to love being there! If you need a place you can have relief during the day / overnight, I highly recommend it here. I am boarding him Saturday overnight for the first time and not the slightest bit worried after today !

The staff was very friendly and worked very well with the dogs. I felt very comfortable, leaving my dog at the PUP N PLAY… they had staff standing and playing in the room with the dogs. Also, each room had staff in there with the dogs. I was really impressed.Gwen

My dog was very excited interacting with all the employees. We went to a different groomer that destroyed my little pomskys fur so I was a little reserved about where to go. When she came out I knew I made a good decision, happy to have found a spot to bring her to! She looks and feels great!!

My dog loves, loves, LOVES Pups @ Play. When she realizes we are headed in that direction, I have to really call on my handling skills because she would absolutely run if I let her!The staff: Everyone has been fantastic. Georgia is always greeted by name, which warms my heart. Just yesterday, I was getting her out of the car when a staff member who just arrived offered to take her in for me. I really appreciate how warm and loving they are towards my pup.The facility: It's extremely clean (no dog smell). From the photos posted daily, it appears the pups have ample indoor and outdoor space. I do wish a tour was part of the initial meet and greet/visit. I trust that everything is to standard, but it would be nice to know exactly where your dog is spending each day. *It's also adjacent to the Walnut St. station, so ultra-convenient if you commute VIA train.The extras: I love that they post tons of photos/videos at the end of each day (and so appreciate them tagging me). That said, I would like to see a live feed in the future--many other pet care facilities have live feeds, and I would definitely be more at ease if I could check-in with my pup throughout the day (on the days she goes, she's there from 7AM-7PM). They do have great add-on items (kongs, puzzles, 1:1 cuddle time), and I love the holiday-themed photo shoots they do each month :)In short, we love P@P and look forward to keeping them as part of Georgia's weekly rotation!

I don’t even know where to start. The staff including the trainer, Heather are phenomenal! My grand dog has been going there for daycare and gets so excited to go she shakes all the way there. She loves it so much that I had to get my non socialized rescue there. Heather went above and beyond to help me get her into daycare smoothly. Forever grateful. All of the staff is sweet and take the time to chat if you need too. We are so happy we found them. Nothing better then knowing your dog is in good hands with people who care. Thank you Pups at Play, I’m happy if the dogs are happy.!

Pups at Play in Montclair was so great to me and my 10 month old maltipoo. This was my first time leaving her and they did everything to make me feel at ease. They were extremely accommodating and accepted a 7 night stay with such short notice. They allowed me to see where where my puppy would be playing during the day- one side for smaller dogs and the other for larger dogs. They sent me pictures and videos every day and were extremely responsive when I asked for updates. The staff is beyond nice and professional. It was refreshing to see how much they actually care about the safety and well-being of others fur babies. I would 100% recommend them to anyone that is looking for boarding or even daycare.

ZERO STARS. We had an absolutely traumatic experience with Pups at Play. At 11:30 at night I received a call from animal control to let me know my dog had escaped from Pups at Play six hours prior and they (and I) were only JUST notified. Obviously for so many reasons this was tremendously upsetting. Firstly, for the fact that my dog had escaped from a place where I entrusted his safety, and secondly that he was only reported missing SIX HOURS after it happened.As we got more detail, it was even more upsetting. Apparently he had pushed open three sets of doors to escape, and he actually wasn’t even discovered missing for TWO HOURS after he escaped. Apparently staff didn’t even know he was missing!! So they checked their videotapes to see he pushed open not one, not two, but three sets of doors.The fact that their lobby was totally unmanned seats, and they left the doors unlocked is beyond negligent. The levels of negligence here are beyond words. Obviously, my husband and I were besides ourselves because finding a dog six hours after they escape in the middle of the night is like finding a needle in a haystack. I drove around town for hours and finally thankfully he was found by a couple of what I’m presuming are college students in their backyard at 2:30 in the morning about a mile away.The scenarios here is horrifying. This is a boarding location that is no further than 50 feet from a train track, in a highly trafficked area with tons of car traffic. I am obviously so beyond believe that he was found safe, but the negligence on the part of Pups at Play is beyond measure. From his “escape”, to waiting hours before alerting the owners or animal control is unforgivable. I would employer all of you to not send your animals there - this is not the first story of problems there.These dogs are like our children and should be treated with care!

I cannot stress enough how much I love this place for a grooming! They treat my dog like she comes first and they understand that she might be a bit scared at first to walk in and pretty much be taken away by a stranger, so they calm her down and slowly bring her away although, she’s becoming more comfortable there. Furthermore, EVERYBODY there loves her and it shows. She’s always returned to me wearing a new bandanna, and they’re always so excited to see her. She also comes back like a plush toy dog. She’s so so soft and smells amazing! Nails cut perfectly, and teeth whiter than a little kid’s! 😅 10/10 for this place! FOR A LOW PRICE, they do an amazing, luxurious job that should be an outrageous price!

So I was going away on vacation with my ENTIRE family for the first time in almost a decade, so I didn’t have anyone to watch my white GSD Luna. I found Pups@Play online, but I was hesitant because she has real medicated anxiety as well as being ridiculously stubborn, and I was worried she would cause issues or accidentally harm herself in her closed off room. I brought her to Pups@Play every week for daycare so she got used to it, and the staff was always welcoming and kind, they gave me a tour of the facility and showed me where the dogs sleep. I was SO scared of leaving her for a week since she’s never had to be alone in the 8 years we’ve had her. Pups@Play took such good care of her, I got to see her on their Instagram feed and it gave me such peace of mind that she wasn’t totally miserable and they were so kind to her. It was really hot and the staff had so many sprinklers, splash pads, and pools for the dogs. Even though Luna would have rather be home, I knew she was safe and content at Pups@Play!

Great place to board your pup. They are attentive and kind. What I like best is that they keep you posted on how your pup is doing through updates over the phone or regularly posting pictures on their instagram. We boarded our dog for 2+ weeks and they took good care of him, ensuring his play times were regulated so he didn’t feel overwhelmed (he’s a senior dog)
