We have been going to both the Verona and Montclair Animal Hospitals for over eight years covering two dogs. They have caught issues that added extra years for my son's first dog. All of the veterinarians are very thorough and helpful, especially Dr. Stock. The techs are also great with the dogs and cats they are shuttling back and forth. Finally, the office staff has been very helpful accommodating rushed appointments and keeping us informed about our dog's health.

I had a wonderful experience at the Montclair animal hospital yesterday. I got two kitties from a local sanctuary and they started their care here. The staff was so sweet and knew where my cats came from and continued where they left off - they made it very easy for me. They all seem so gentle, kind, and caring. Thank you!

The technicians at the Verona and Montclair Animal Hospitals are incredibly rude to each other and clients behind closed doors. They throw cat carriers around and have a very disgusting hatred for cats simply because they are scared while they are there and they get uncomfortably annoyed at uncooperative pets and clients… They hire people KNOWING they have no experience and then complain when they have to train them. They don’t even have enough staff to train anyone properly so mistakes happen all the time, even from their techs and the ones who haven’t been trained take the blame instead, hence why none of their new employees stay. When I was hired the manager at the time told me “no drama” because of how bad they are. Their entire staff has worked in just these hospitals for 10 years or less but boasts about experience when not a single one of them is certified. Highly unsafe training conditions to not have a single certified technician to do proper training. Do not trust these techs with your pet, they have no idea what they are doing!

The doctors and staff here are phenomenal! The staff is friendly and show they care for the animals. The doctors will always give you a call to check up on your pet. I unfortunately had to put my shitzu down and omg how caring the staff was. My family and I was so emotional but they made us feel comfortable and answered all our questions and concerns.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE OR VERONA ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!! Unprofessional, kept my pet in the back for 25 min. Did not communicate problems they had drawing blood. Did procedures I did not approve. Dirty, smells like cigarettes. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

The office in Montclair and Verona are nicer than MY doctors office! Super clean and I just can’t say enough about the staff! Everyone is so helpful and extremely kind. Highly recommend! Will never bring my little boy anywhere else! Wonderful offices!!!

We see Dr. Stock here for our mixed breed 50lb dog, Guinness. Dr. Stock is very attentive and thorough. The staff is always super friendly and my schedule is easily accommodated. The office is small which I love! We have never boarded here but I do believe it ie an option. They have a sister office in Verona too. In my experience, they don't overbook... so the waiting room is not stressful or too congested. I would highly recommend.

Love it here! I was previously going to Cameron Animal Hospital for regular check ups when my pup had an emergency and no vets were in. Montclair Animal Hospital immediately saw my pup and was super kind. They even did a follow call the next day which I really appreciated. I switched vets and am very pleased! For one, my very anxious dog came out of there chill as can be, which is nearly unheard of. He's part chihuahua, so shakiness is in his DNA. But he apparently was comfortable enough that when the tech brought him out to me, he was steady as a surgeon. That means a lot.Because of COVID, I wasn't in the room with my pup like I would be normally, but Dr. Scriffignano called as he was doing the exam to explain everything that was going on with my dear senior doggo. And I mean everything. Like, he explained exactly what a heart murmur is and the reasons why my dog develops infections easily and so on. He put my mind at ease about some of my dog's conditions, and really understood my anxieties about things other vets had recommended that I worried would be bad for a dog of his age and with his health background.It's not the cheapest vet around, I'm sure, and I'm attaching my bill because I know when I look for vets and whatnot I wish people would just let me know what to expect in terms of cost. But the exam itself is reasonable, and if you can afford paying a little bit of a premium for really stellar care and a happy pet, it is well worth it.

I’ve been coming here for about a year now & after today I will never come back. My dog has had a rash on and off for about 3 months now that apparently these vets don’t know how to treat, but certainly know how to charge for. So far I’ve paid over $500 dollars with them to treat a small skin rash. Insane. Today after waiting 45 mins for them to call us in for our appointment, they kept us a total of 2 hours just to overcharge us on medication and shampoo. They charged me $55.18 plus tax for a bottle of shampoo that I just found on Chewy for $30. Insane.If you value your time and money, DO NOT go to Montclair Animal Hospital.

I visited Dr. Scriff and the staff at Montclair Animal Hospital today for the first time - they are now my new vet. I called around for pricing before deciding on them and after speaking to the girls at M.A.H. and seeing how quickly they got back to me and answered my questions, I decided to go with them. The fact that they're prices for pulling teeth were the cheapest around, was just a bonus. The girls at the front desk were so sweet and friendly, the hospital itself was clean and welcoming, and Dr. Scriff was so down to earth and friendly, it would make it hard not to go back. I'm a groomer and a trainer and Dr. Scriff took the time for me to pick his brain and educated me on a couple things that I had questions about. I never felt rushed or hurried out. Apparently everyone loved my Pug, Norman and he seemed to feel great after leaving and I knew they took great care of him. I HIGHLY recommend M.A.H. to any and everyone. They're prices are great, hospital is clean, and the people that work there are genuinely wonderful.

I wish someone had warned me about this vet. I brought a very sick kitten there on the 23rd or 24th of December a few years ago. It was a Christmas gift for my little grandson, which turned out to be quite ill once we got it home from the shelter hours away. That shelter said if we brought it back for treatment then we couldn't have the cat, which upset my grandson (and me). Desperate, I took it to this vet, who, after checking it over, treated it and prescribed the medicine, which it needed immediately and continously for the next weeks. The bill was $1000, due immediately. I explained that I couldn't pay the entire amount up front, it being Christmas, my bank account was low. I hoped to pay half and pay it off in 2 weeks, which every vet I've ever had would do.Nope. The full amount was due that moment, or we couldn't have the medication. I asked to speak to the vet, and he confirmed that it was true. I paid it, literally at the expense of other obligations for the next 2 weeks. Later, several people told me that they had similar stories. "He's all about the money.", is what one person said.We lived a few blocks away, had excellent references, and we pay our bills. I have gone to Dr. Cameron ever since.

Brought my dog here to get a growth checked out and for a teeth cleaning. The growth was smaller than a fingernail and I was told it would be $1000 to remove the growth and $1000 for the teeth cleaning because he’d likely need a few extracted. $2000 seemed like a lot so I went to the vet center of Caldwell and they charged me less than $800 for both procedures. Watchung animal hospital is clearly trying to take advantage of pet owners.

Verona/Monclair Animal Hospital. Beware of them. They missed diagnosed my cat, Chucky. In spite of me voicing concerns....they just kept telling me he was ok. In reality, cancer was eating him away. They miss diagnosed or failed to diagnose......they tortured the poor cat. Chucky was denied any chance to live, was denied end of life care. Another veterinarian had to put him down. , staff is sweet....but sweet doesn't help your beloved pet, only competent veterinarian care does...and Verona/Monclair Animal Hospital is not.

Do not bring your dying animal here to be put down. It's been 5 years, but I'll never forget the utter terror in my poor cat's face/bugged-out eyes after they terrorized her with an injection in the back room, where we could hear her excruciating screams. Then they brought her in to us to say goodbye and left her there with us for an interminable amount of time without coming in to give her the final lethal dosage until we begged them to end her pain. They had no empathy nor sense of timing. It was one of the most horrifying experiences of my life.When I called the doctor after a few days of trying to process the trauma, she offered no apology nor understanding.
