I needed to find a new vet when my cat Bumper became sick. Sadly, Dr. Shendell was only Bumper's doctor for about a week, as it was his time to leave us. Bumper's time came on a Friday, the day that Dr. Shendell is in surgery all day. She was great. She stayed at the office and had us bring Bumper in so that we could let him go and not be in pain anymore. The staff here is wonderful. We even received a sympathy card signed by everyone in the office. I would highly recommend Martinsville Vet. Hospital.

In town from SC, I found myself in sudden need of a vet for my little guy Rufus. After finding wait times of a week or more at other vets in the area, Joshua and Melissa were not only able to fit me in that afternoon out of concern for my pup, but rendered extremely passionate and thorough care. Rufus left there feeling MUCH better as did I. Thank you Melissa and Joshua.

If there were more stars I give them all. I've been taking all my cats to Dr. Stouds for over 20 years. Dr. Freedman is also excellent, they have gone all the way to find the problem, very difficult for me to trust someone else, to me if they can't fix no one can. My old neighbors told me Dr Stouds was the best and he is and the techs are wonderful.

Since ownership change last year, this place has become much more organized and responsive. Dr. Shendell examined Fred carefully, found a tick under his hair and pulled it off. After Fred's test result comes out, she communicated with me actively. The experience is much better than before.

Getting an appointment is very fast and easy. Your questions are answered at the appointment, and they will take notes of any concerns you may have to follow up on the next appointment. The staff was very friendly and made our first appointment very welcoming.

My parents have been coming here for years with 5 dogs to see Dr. Stout! Now all of a sudden when I get my own dog they don’t ever answer me! I went there a month ago and they told me that my dog has giardia and they will call me when the meds are in so I said ok! I’ll wait… 2 weeks go by and no meds so I called and they said that they left me a voicemail saying that they haven’t gotten the meds yet! It’s been over month and my dog doesn’t have her meds! I’m switching! This is ridiculous! My parents never had to deal with this situation! And every time I call no one ever answers and there isn’t even a answering machine! What a terrible business! They should be shut down!

The staff at Martinsville Vet is the best! They treat my fur baby like he is their own. I can't say enough great things about these ladies and Dr. Frank is gentle and patient with Tugger and explains everything to me in terms I can understand. I highly recommend this veterinary to anyone who is a pet parent.

The ONLY good thing that came out of this visit is that the doctor accidentally discovered a mass on my dog's lungs because we had them X-ray her due to kennel cough. Immediately I asked her to email me the results so my regular vet can see them. It has been three weeks and we still haven't gotten the STAT results from the radiologist.Apparently, they're only good to their "regulars," so don't tell them you're not planning on coming back. The irony of this is that we used to use this place when we lived in the area years ago. We were a regular, and still in the system.

Dr. Frank Stoutd is wonderful with my cat. She's 21 and I'm sure his great care has helped her to have a very long and happy life. It's a small and very personalized office with a great friendly, and most important, accommodating staff. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Dr. Freeman is an incredibly gifted vet. She is kind, compassionate, an animal lover and an excellent diagnostician. She found one of our pups has a rare autoimmune condition which allowed us to proactively handle the condition. Highly recommend Dr. Freeman.

I called in regard to my dog not eating and loosing hair.I was told they were too busy.(over a month ago)I continued calling expressing my concerns,my dog will be 11 soon.he is a Frenchie with existing issues.Dr.Stoudt has been the one to see him always.The Dr.is out for awhile. I just wanted my dog seen.He also was due for a pres.refill.I was told he was to be seen.When I called I was told they were busy.No one to see h ,try another vet.All the vets I called said they were not taking new clients and since he is older and has mostly gone to Dr Stoudt he should be seen by him.Never got appt.His meds were dueFor refillI called turned down for appt.Asked for refill to be phoned inCalled again and again IPerson answering just says we are busy.Five days ago my last call for his refillNo one has returned my call.

I highly recommend Martinsville Animal Hospital & Dr. Stoudt. I will only ever bring my dogs to Dr. Stoudt. Even when I was living in Philadelphia, I drove 2 hours each way to bring my dog here. Dr. Stoudt takes the time with each patient. You can tell he truly cares about the animal & it's more than just a way to make money. If you are looking for a vet, look no further.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. My regular vet was away & referred me here in his absence to take my dog in along with test results he emailed over to me. The woman who answered said there was nothing they could do for me since they didn't have my " history" after I explained I had test results I could bring with me & wanted to see what the vet could do for my dog. Meanwhile I was hysterical because my dog had kidney failure & just wanted help. The woman was extremely rude. I would think someone answering the phone could show a little bit of compassion. My dog sadly passed two days later. I would never recommend any to call in if they aren't a "regular" patient. I felt like I inconvenienced her by calling.
