I've been going to this store for quite a long time, more than a few years. The only thing I could say that is positive about this store is that it has great prices when everywhere else is priced higher. Other than that, customer service is very rude, gossips about the customers, and it's very unlikely to get a happy worker willing to help you. Mistakes happen, and they act as if it's your fault for buying food that's outdated and not their own for removing it. Especially if you try to return.The checkout lines are always long and sometimes just difficult as is finding a parking spot in the parking lot. The way they have the store set up is a bit confusing now that everything's been moved and changed. Also be items in the aisle are placed on these tall shelves, making it difficult to reach. Especially, when no one is around or you can find someone to help you get the item.I wouldn't call this a good store to go run in and out as it's always busy. The f freshly prepared food should be a little bit more chat as some are under done and the feathers in the rotisserie chicken don't look really pleasing when serving.The most recent time I've just been there was as horrible as every other time. I figured after a new year maybe the whole store is a little bit different, but nope it's still the same. My friends and I went there and needed help to find a certain item. The customer service was very unkind when responding. Then to check out in a 20 or under lane, a lady tells us we can't as it appeared as if we had more than 20. However, we had separate orders and we're sharing a cart, but this is the first time that they actually told us we you still couldn't use the lane.Honestly, the workers are the most disrespectful people there. I wish I didn't have to stop here but the prices are great just that the rest of the things make me want to just avoid the store all together.

I was in Deli department for over 20 minutes today waiting for cold cuts. I was number 2 and they were only 4 people behind me number 98. 4 people waiting on customers and slow as could be. It took almost 10 minutes for me to get 2 1/4 lbs of cold cuts. Please add more staff to your deli counter or give classes in efficiency. Total wast of 1/2 hour. Not a happy shoprite shopper.

I’ve been going to the ShopRite for many many years. I like the old owners better. A lot of the staff in the service departments like the deli and fish ignore you are slow and don’t do what you ask them to do if you want your cold cut then good luck and the wait is terrible and they move slow as molasses. Management does not care about your concerns. They’re the only game in town that large so they figured they can treat you poorly.

Do not go to Barbara for check-out. She is absolutely the worst and rudest cashier I have met. She never smiles or says a word, acts like its an effort to be there. I will go to self checkout or wait an extra 20 minutes just to avoid her. She should not be working with the public.

The renovation makes it hard to find where items are. The store is so large from the produce to the frozen section that it is difficult for me to shop the entire store. The prices are fair. The staff deserve better benefits. The store is always busy but makes it hard to shop and to stand in Lane to check out. The Pharmacy staff is busy but keeps on top of things.

I have purchased pork chops 3 times over the last 6 months that were rotten.. I purchased chicken breast yesterday and it already smelled. Barbara is so rude and throws your expensive rotten food down the belt.

Terrible - don't waste your time going here. They never have enough check out lines open and the self-checkout limits you to 20 items. The meat is never fresh, the produce is usually rotten. This has been the case since Shaker has taken over the management/ownership of the store. I used to shop here on a regular basis but just can't continue wasting my money and time here. Sad situation when the management is the issue and despite addressing my concerns to them, they offer no apologies and never address any of the issues.

Shoprite of Manahawkin is all around a great experience. It is clean, well lit, and well stocked. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.In coming to this location many times, I have always found the many things on hand to be orderly.

id rather go to any other shoprite.Bakery Staff was sloppy and rude. Short dark haired girl walks away as ure talking to her then ruins the cake. Older gentleman claims he cant fix whip cream or write happy birthday himself.pretty keeping with the rest of this dirty over priced location.

Rotten meat on multiple occasions, this time I was denied a refund. my hearts broken, my steaks rotten, my stomach is empty and now I gotta find a new store to go to. Save yourself the pain and don't shop here.

My wife came home terribly upset at the rudeness displayed by the women overseeing the self checkout. My wife entered the name of the product and evidently the wrong price came up for the plantains she was purchasing. She stated the attendant came up to her like she was trying to steal them. My wife then showed the attendant what she entered and the result she got. To make a long story short she finally told the checkout attendant to leave her alone because she kept hovering over her. This store needs to train their staff better . My wife felt harassed because she is Hispanic. I’ve also witnessed bad customer service behavior in the Waretown store in the past. The store was better run before the Saker purchase.

Reposting again because some how they won’t respond and contact me I went to the ShopRite in Manahawkin nj to purchase a rotisserie chicken to enjoy with my family. as I am eating the rotisserie chicken I can’t help but notice worms in it, i immediately grabbed the rotisserie chicken and went back to the Manahawkin Shoprite with my receipt to make a complaint as I waited for a while for a manager to show up, to just grab my information and say comments like nothings ever happen like this before. just brushing off the fact of what I just experienced with just an apology.I was expecting to have a phone call this morning no one has yet to contact me. You don’t need to be an expert to see the difference between chicken vain and a warm. Manager on duty saw with own eyes it had 3 warms inside of it and 4th one I eat I am completely disgusted by my experience and have had upset stomach since Saturday. Yet no one from the management team has yet to reach out on this matter that to me personally is very serious.

If I could give zero stars I would. Since being taken over, the store is absolutely awful. You have to search through produce to find something that is not molded or rotten. I have already put my thumb through an onion due to rot. The strawberries consistently have fuzzy mold on them. After throwing away countless amounts of product from the "meat" department, I have started purchasing all of my meats from the German Butcher in Forked River. I was tired of opening a package of meat and the smell making me gag and chicken that was so slimy you couldn't even pick it up. I wouldn't purchase anything there but canned goods and the like.

I would Stay away for a while , they are trying to reorganize it which is making it a madhouse no one could find anything no one knows where anything is there's like not much on shelves they're in like bins it's terrible they should have just left it the way it was I think

I’ve lived in Manahawkin for a little over 4 years now. Before that I grew up in Lacey where (to my knowledge) the ShopRite was owned by the same family. Since the perlmutter family sold their stores I’ve been nothing but disgusted and disappointed in my experiences. Between new employees with their HORRIBLE attitudes, to rearranging stores where LOCALS (as in SOUTH JERSEY NATIVES) have been shopping for years, and the quality control with food (pictured here); I cannot express my distain with the new owners enough. Very disappointed in the sale of these Ocean County Shoprites. I tried to give them a chance…. I really did… but my experiences just get worse each time. ShopRite and their new owners are officially and “ick” for me.

I placed our first delivery order for my mom. Forgot one item. I did that as a separate order. I saw the one item order was cancelled.I did it as a separate order because I wasn't sure if it would delay or mess up the original order.Called the store and found out that Zack had added it to the original large order. THANK YOU!!!Its nice to see people taking initiative.

I recently visited the meat department at this store with the intention of purchasing a 5lb brisket, as per my wife's recipe instructions. Unfortunately, I could only find one that was slightly shorter than what I needed. When I approached the gentleman behind the counter (whose name I won't mention for privacy and respect), I was met with less than ideal customer service.After explaining my request for a 5lb cut, he checked the pre-packaged options and commented, "you know there is a difference of .32 here" and added, "you do realize cutting meat isn't an exact science, right?" His response made me feel somewhat uncomfortable, but I politely asked if he could prepare a 5lb cut for me. It took approximately 5 minutes, but he eventually provided me with the right-sized cut.While I did express my gratitude, I was disappointed when he slammed the meat on the metal counter and walked away without a word. It was clear that he was in a foul mood and did not intend on providing good customer service. Needless to say, the gentleman made me feel like absolute trash and I definitely won't be returning to this store for my meat needs. I'll opt for a local butcher instead.

This review specifically for Nicole in the Bakery! I ordered a chocolate sheet cake, white buttercream icing, pink flowers, green leaves for birthday celebration for 25 year old. This was my first time ordering a cake as I usually bake my own. Nicole helped me fill out the request AND was the decorator. I was stunned with how gorgeous the cake was I picked up 2 days later! It was so much more beautiful AND delicious than I had imagined!!! Birthday girl was thrilled, guests raved and declared “on a scale from 1 to 10, this cake is an 11!”. Nicole, thank you for your help and sharing your obvious talent to make a birthday extra special!

As I'm walking thru this ShopRite, the first thing that will hit you is its sheer size. Expanded departments of all types ... Bakery, Meats, Fish and Prepared Foods are not the typical ones you see. And a selection that beats any supermarket I've ever seen. As I'm checking out, I notice this banner (see photo) and can understand why. Best Supermarket 19 years in a row.

I have shopped at different Shop Rites for over 25 years. While I like this store and many of the meats and other items sold there, I am extremely disappointed in their produce department. I have purchased many packages of arugula and I always check the dates. The last one I brought home had an expiration date of 5 days from the date of purchase. I eat arugula everyday. After opening and eating a serving, I went back the next day to have more. It was already wet and smelled bad. I had to throw it out. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time I have had to dispose of it. I have now started buying all my produce at either Walmart or Aldi's because it is much better quality.

Giving it 3 stars because while the shopping ia good. EVER since purlmutter sold the bakery department has gone down hill and according to the service desk and many employees agree that a lot of customers are completely. We used to get goods for every event but now we go to Acme. Why have a bakery if everything is just coming pre packaged. I don't even think twice anymore and go straight past that terrible bakery.

Staff is pleasant and store is relatively clean. Unfortunately one of the few grocery stores in the area. As a local, I'm used to it being like Thunderdome, with so many tourists and out of town visitors. Recently waited an hour for my number to be called at the deli, despite 9 people working behind the counter. Napoleon was exiled for less time. Bon chance.

ALERT ABOUT THIS SHOPRITE!!!Be careful if you are buying weighted items from this location; i.e., meat, produce, deli, etc. Re-weigh everything when you get home!!They jack up the scales to lie about the weight. I have tested this over the last few months of shopping here. Thought at first maybe it was just some mistakes, but after checking my weighted items each time I shopped, every time they are off by the same amount. At this point, it’s fair to say it’s all a scam and we’re the victims. The meat scales alone are set to 0.20 lbs higher per pound. So, you are not actually getting all the meat you are paying for from the price on the label. When something says $5.29 per pound, you are actually paying closer to $6 per pound. That adds up when you are purchasing meat, produce, etc all at the same time. Moreover, doing this to every customer adds up to a lot of stolen profit!Bad enough food costs so much these days. Now our local supermarket is stealing from us to raise their profits.But don’t just take it from me. Do the investigating and you’ll see for yourself. It’s disgusting that this ShopRite has been doing this to all of us.Weights and measures needs to be brought into this facility and do a check all the scales.

Whatever happened to the great Pearlmutter management? These new ones stand around and have no idea what they are there for. The store is a maze that says, let us mess around and let customers figure out where the good products are. The Bowl and Basket especially the frozen vegetables are junk.Since the new owners took over the store has gone down the tubes!

A nice supermarket with a wide variety of items. As someone who doesn't eat beef or pork and who eats chicken every day, I find this ShopRite's pre cooked chickens to be woefully and consistently undercooked. As of early 2022 this store is under new ownership. New, brighly illuminated shelving, creates what feel like more narrow, more claustrophobic aisles, but this definitely gives the displayed product a more modern look. I have heard it said "Light sells." The in-store cooked fried chicken pieces sold in plastic containers under a heat lamp are greasy as Hell but really good. A far better value than Beach Haven West chicken place Robbie's Chicken Shack. A good option for reasonably priced fresh seafood.
