This is the fourth time that we have caught this establishment in swapping prices and miss labeling items. When we bring it to the retention, they then act as the we, the customer, are in the wrong with snarling faces and sluggish customer service. We will never shop here again. our recommendation is to go to ShopRite only a half a mile further or Whole Foods or Kings. They are rude and obviously trying to dupe their customers in paying higher prices. Please see the photo from today’s purchase.My husband bought this meat and when he got to the register he was charged $34 versus the $7.99 price as marked. When he took it to customer service to return it and get the proper pricing, he had to go back and take a photo. The customer service lady was rude and indignant. Never again!!! Go anywhere else but this place is a scam!! Once may have been a mistake, but four times is a pattern and obviously their habit of trying to fake customers into paying higher prices.

Well stocked and clean, but the packaged goods are about 30% more on average compared to Wegmans and a couple of items were almost double the price (Progresso soup was $4.20 / can vs. $2.40 for the same item). If I'm doing a big trip I'd go elsewhere, but for a small number of items it's convenient.

The store its self is altight, a supermarket with everything you expect.Since the remodel they unfortunately removed the belt style self checkouts this is disapointing, since the belt weighed your item and let you bag after..Now its the bagging area style, and they are not really coded for bring your own bag by default.. so you need to select you have your own bag (small nearly hidden button) so it wont think you are stealing things when you put the bag in the bagging area.. just overall less user friendly even if i know how to use it.Last next to the self checkout seems to frequently be a rude employee saying "im open" as if most people who use the self checkout didnt choose so.. we know your lane exists this however is less stressful for one reason or another and it may be as simple as extra time to make sure the bag is ready for walking accross town. If the cachiers are that worrid about their job up front its already time to relocate them to other tasks.. if there is a line you may politely ask but if someone is there < 5 seconds, and the self checkout employee is pointing them to the register that just opened, the person on register dosn't need to scare off your customers.Overall go in if needed but there are better supermarkets.

The prices are very high at this Stop & Shop compared to the local Shop Rite. I've finally decided to make the switch after many years. I've noticed the increase over the last year or two. Seems like others have too. For instance, a pack of rice puddng costs 6.99 at shop rite, while it costs 8.49 at stop and shop this is just one example of things I have noticed.. they've been out of stock of all Bell and Evans products. A bad move for how popular it is.

Madison STOP AND SHOP on Main Street in Madison New Jersey is the most RACIST and Prejudice store in town.. First off as soon as I walk in and start loading my cart with Vegetables There’s a message over the loud speaker that says “ Please send more security to checkout and to the front of the store”. I shop for the month when I do go shop so I had to put a lot of things in my cart, the whole time store associates and managers were coming up and all around me to watch me. Like get serious- get over yourself Madison. When I finally reached the checkout with over 140 dollars in groceries there were 3 security guards posing as help suffocating me at the register. Not to mention there systems kept screwing up where I needed assistance over 8 times. This is 2023 this is the racism everyone thinks has gotten better but this is a clear example that it hasn’t at least for this asymptote location. I should have left the groceries and walked out but unlike your store, I came to buy groceries so I paid and left…. Will never ever go back to Madison Stop and Shop and will tell people about this. Poor Job guys really POOR JOB at serving the community. Black or Brown shoppers BEWARE.!!

The food is fine and the location is convenient, the prices are a little high for what you get but comparable to the other stores in town. Why the low rating? They never have enough cashiers and they have by far the worst self checkout process of any grocery in the area. The machine always seems to think the bananas or other items weigh differently in the bagging area than on the scanner. Can I re scan and try again? Not until some employee finishes spending 5 minutes to help another customer whose machine also caused them issues.If you’re going to continue to save on your labor cost by using machines then the machines should be useful and the customers empowered to make them work

Great selection. Produce is good. Meat, fish and seafood are all satisfactory. Lots of self-checkout lanes.Currently open but under renovation. Noticed that they are out of some products they usually have and some products are occasionally in an odd location in the store. Hopefully renovations will be done soon.

I won't ever shop here again after seeing what a bad of pepperoni looked liked. I went out of my way to tell one of the employees about it and gave him the bag of grey, moldy, expired pepperoni and he said nothing to me and put it right back!

honestly every time I go in here i have such an unpleasant experience, the cashiers always huff and puff if you want don’t want use the self checkout, it never works i end up spending 20 mins at the damn self checkout, they don’t greet you just groan and act like I owe them something, they size you up and mumble things under their breath while scanning food, (i get it it’s a white rich racist town) and they basically curse your food with their negative energy as though i’m not spending 100$ on groceries every time i shop there. makes me understand why people are being replaced by AI bc they just can’t be nice anymore, anyway, this is close to my house so sometimes i have to go here but i won’t anymore bc i’m tired of their draining attitude it’s miserable!

This store is one of the most disgusting stores in Madison all of the cheese that is displayed on the shelf that is packaged is sitting on the shelf right now currently moldy I don't understand why the people that work there never restock the shelves I worked there for about three weeks and it was the most horrible experience of my life the Manager Liz is the most rudest person in the world she doesn't know how to talk to people she's nasty and while the other people (who stock shelves/register )that work there are nice. I was very disgusted just going there now and finding moldy cheese. When I worked there I also had to stock the cheese shelve and the same thing happened every package was mold and fur on it. Just disgusting

Excellent bakery, fruits and vegetables, and deli departments. The aisles are all neat, clearly marked, and well stocked. The pharmacy is neatly laid out, well marked, and expertly staffed. The cashiers and customer service people are pleasant, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Overall, the shopping experience is well worth the trip.

This Stop and Shop is good for groceries. Easy to get out of the store and made for Slave Master's diets so I know they hath very good nutrition in it! Very much worth the travel and going to.

Extremely frustrating experience as they replaced perfectly working self-checkout system with the one that doesn't work. Now they have just one regular cashier and several people helping customers to self checkout and you still have to wait, scan and rescan many times. I refuse to shop there anymore.

As of January 2022, they are working on a renovation. In this time of transition, a lot of stock is missing or in odd places. They do have some signage indicating new locations for key items. They have some new dairy fridges that look nice. Hopeful for future improvements, but be prepared to spend extra time hunting for the items on your grocery list for now.

I picked up flowers Friday night 10-2-2020 for our anniversary. The arrangement was too beautiful to pass up. I want to commend your florist. Thank you!It is a mix of mostly roses, then daisies, carnations and a lily or two; a perfect snap dragon and a sun flower - plus well suited greenery.Great job!

This is my favorite large grocery store in the Madision/Chatham area. They have the best selection by FAR of international and healthy foods and they even have a large section of natural/vegetarian/organic off to the side that makes it easy to shop for these things.I have had a few items from the bakery and they are always good. Produce is fresh and the prices are among the best in the area. It's a clean, well-stocked store and they are generally friendly.My one negative is there are often not enough cashiers open and they push you toward the self-checkout which I don't like.But all in all, it's the best supermarket in the area.

The store is good, nice environment you will find so many things there is like 6 self checkout that you can use if you know how to use them and if you are no in a hurry the stuff is not good I was here today 10/29/2021 the woman in the number 11 station saw me putting my groceries and she was like only 12 item this is the first time that happened the store was pretty much empty this review is not about the quality of the products or the store is about the people how come you can not take a person who already put their groceries to be scanned and I had to pick my things and going to another cashier

I have been coming here since this supermarket first came out. There is almost everything and anything you need. Giftcards, presents, produce, frozen products, dairy, basically anything a super market carries but more. A great selection of items. I suggest signing up for the card in order to get good discounts. In case you ever forget your card, just tell the cashier. They have handicapped parking and plenty of regular parking. They also have self checkout. They have over 20+ aisles in the store. They do sell cigarettes and some cigars. May be a bit more pricey than your average super market but it is a great place to go in and do a quick shop if you are in the area. This is why I suggest the Stop and Shop card, takes a lot off in the end. They have flowers too in case you need to give them to someone going through a hard time or to your lover (or side lover as it happens often in this day in age now lol)...

Get their membership card just to get access to lower prices. Dont want one? No worries! Ask the teller to punch in the shop's card. Very helpful staff. Wish their international section would go more inclusive at this facility.

The short girl with the long wavy wig was extremely rude. She kept hanging up the phone when we called to ask a question. We came to customer service and had the misfortune of having her as a cashier. She needs to brush up on her customer service skills. She even blatantly ignored us when we were being assisted by her when we had questions. She needs to check her attitude at the door.

I am kinda mad and discounted because i am a hot wheels die cast collector and stop and shop has the most nicest ones there. It’s been 3 months since the restore on them. I’ve asked multiple workers if they could check the back for them. They all reply “no” they don’t even look back or anything. I’ve been waiting on them and I hope they sometime soon come in. Also a worker told me last Friday to come back on Monday because they would be there. I came in today 4 times! All 4 times nothing. With atleast a 2 hour spanned between the times I came in. I’m really disappointed and am speechless

We placed an online order thru PeaPod. My husband went to pick the order up and noticed we were missing items. Waited 20 minutes for them to get the things. Left and then noticed we were still missing items. Went back. It took him 2 hours to get the groceries. We will never use this service again, will do Amazon Fresh or something more reliable. It was like it was the first time anyone had ever fulfilled an online order there. It's not like other people were waiting, there were plenty of employees, they were just totally inept. My husband could have done all the shopping and been home in half the time. Complete and utter fail by the Madison NJ Stop & Shop. UPDATE: the link that was given to me below goes nowhere. I ended up missing almost $40 worth of food that I ordered.

There are plenty of good buys here! Fresh fruits are always on sale, frozen foods as well.Good natural food selection in its own area. prices are reasonable. Im not fond of the meat dept, the chopped meat is eh, not great quality. Bakery is pretty good the standard offerings, nothing great. I use self checkout lanes, faster and convenient. Staff is ok.

Supermarket is one of the largest in southern Morris county. Aisles are wide and clean. Prices are quite good for most products. Stop and shop purchasing card offering gas discounts is an added plus. Plenty of good parking.
