Pretty decent and diverse store. Was really good to shop around in. Literally my only issue was the checkout line. It was in a disarray. Other than that I’d go again.

Stereo is always so loud you feel like you're in a disco and the deli has almost nothing available for you to buy don't want to talk to you they want you to order through the computer screen I don't know why these stores still open

I've been calling ShopRite since December I know it's a holiday and everything but now it's January. They need to get new people to work at customer service because they don't want to pick the phone up they don't want to do their job. You guys are hiring and every time I call there's a problem with the phone I don't understand that. The young lady yesterday took my name and number and I was calling today to check up on the status of my application. Who's ever working at customer service today at 11:28 on Tuesday it's so rude and disrespectful you put me on hold I tell you to transfer me to HR and you got me on hold the phone start ringing and you still got me on hold and I know because if you would have transfer me to HR I could have left a message. Thank you anyway. Smh

Most unorganized shoprite I been to.Always a wait on the deli and to pay.Empty shelves. No price on some items.They have fix it up some. Now self check out has help with the lines and supermarket is a little more organized.

Outrageous how there is never any staff and not enough self checkout registers. If this is going to be the new norm at least make sure it is working correctly or have more staff available. I've been in line for an hr and barely moved.

My first few visits were great, but recently every time I visit the shelves seem bare, they don’t have what I’m looking for in stock and some of the produce doesn’t look the freshest.

self checkout to the right is closed so we have to use the one to the left. the line is TO THE BACK OF THE STORE :( no cash registers open. ridiculous. if ur not gonna hire staff, at least make sure all self checkout works. no reason i should have to wait half an hour to buy 3 products

Visited on a Saturday morning for the first time and found the store clean and not crowded. Sales items were well stocked. Store associates were courteous and helpful. Pleased with the experience.The store was packed with long checkout lines, including self-checkout on a Wednesday early evening. The parking lot was also full.Some items were out of stock...

I bought a rotisserie chicken in this supermarket, the chicken came with two big nails in it, as a result three of my teeth were broken.This Shoprite sent me to complain with Perdue, they asked me to send them the nails, big mistake that I sent them the nails.Now anybody is responsable for it, I did not receive not even the price I paid for the chicken I did not eat after been impacted.Until now, I still suffering from my teeth, Perdue nor Shoprite have done anything at all.Please be careful buying chicken there, if something happen to you, nobody will respond you.

I’m beyond disgusted with this store. I requested a Home Delivery and did not receive my items. When I called back they told me there’s no manager on duty to issue a refund. I’ll have to call back tomorrow or the next day. Excuse me I didn’t receive my item that I paid for and now I have to wait until the manager comes back to work to get it.

Great experience for Wednesday afternoon went before school let out after the morning Rush beautiful in and out plenty of everything in stock cashier was pleasant and the line moved quick. Friday before the storm, crazy busy place, still in and out pretty quick and pleasant check out.👍 .

They have recently added 4 self checkout registers but they are not open when they are needed the most. The lines always move super slow and more than often there are not enough registers open!!!!!

I ordered a cupcake cake in the shape of a number 4 for my son’s bday, it was suppose to be red!!!! When I got there it was pink! The number 4 looked weird and the frosting was in flower design when the cake was for a boy! When I ordered the cake they said they’ll write “happy birthday Noah” on the border and they didn’t, they put it on top of the frosting. This was a horrible experience as this was suppose to be a cake for a school party. I did get refunded my money but overall didn’t appreciate the way the cake turned out and didn’t appreciate the way the bakery manager spoke to me as if it was my fault the cake didn’t look right.

Great prices ! Yet customer service is terrible towards the evening hours. The girls who run the self check out registers in the evening are very rude! Everyone has an attitude . Countless encounters of attitudes and looks of disgust ! The last time i went there two days ago , my grocery order needed an override. I asked the girl for help and the girl rolled her eyes at me and didn’t help me . Yet , she helped another man when he requested for help ! This happens all the time in the afternoon and evening hours. I just Left my order there and walked out ! I’ve been coming to this ShopRite for 17 years and its my favorite one, but I’m not coming here anymore .

I work nearby and used to stop by in the AM on my way to work to pick up things to keep in the fridge at work. I’m not sure why any manager in the supermarket business (I used to be one myself for years) would be okay with the lines!! I go in for 2-3 things and I should not have to wait 10+ minutes on line to checkout, meanwhile there are 8 or more self checkout machines turned off and closed. This happens every time I go in there. Mindblowing, and you have to feel bad for the poor employees trying to get people through as quick as possible. Stressful for them and for the customers, I was almost late to work thinking it would be quick to grab a few things like it is at almost every other supermarket…

The poorest fresh bread selection ever! I keep waiting for years for this location to start offering an artisan bread selection but so far nothing. We need a better multi-grain and healthy fresh selection already! ShopRite Elizabeth has it all! Come on ShopRite Hillside, you need to do better!

Quite possibly the worst grocery store in New Jersey.It is laid out in a bizarre fashion, making things very difficult to find.There are long lines at the checkout, except for the self check out. The self check out is bizarre. I work in computers and I find the self check out at ShopRite counterintuitive and confusing.I asked to see a manager.. ”If you’re keeping data on the self check out, you might want to note that the ‘I have my own bag,” button (which is very important in NJ), is tucked away down near the change language & accessibility button. Also, I’ve had to ask for help 3 times because of the sensors in the bagging area. Each time the associate comes over with their key and makes an adjustment, wasting their time and mine.”I was told very rudely, “You’re the FIRST complaint we’ve had about the self check out!”I started to say the words, “You’re clearly not tracking data, as each problem reported represents a larger number of unreported similar issues.” Yup. That’s what I started to say.But I only got as far as “You're clearly…” when the manager took a step towards me and shouted, “I’m clearly WHAT?” in a hostile tone, in a physically threatening stance. I wasn’t intimidated. He was big, but I’m bigger.But REALLY?? You tell a manager about a problem at the self check out and he tries to physically intimidate you??? THAT’s his go-to customer service move? I can imagine ShopRite customer service training.Step 1Deny there’s a problem.Step 2Argue.Step 3If Step 1 & 2 don’t work start shouting and attempt to physically intimidate.Great manager you have there.I spent $78.03 in the store that day. Please tell me, how much do I have to spend to be treated with even a modicum of common courtesy?UPDATE:I was recently attacked on Yelp by someone who pretty clearly worked here, (sounded like the manager), using some pretty salty ageist language. A real “class act.”As I said, the worst grocery store in New Jersey.

This place is HUGE! It seems vastly bigger than some of the other ones around. All that walking is a little tiring. But the overall experience is pretty nice. Good and clean. Decent produce meats, fish and deli. However, it feels like they're always under stocked, especially stuff on sale.
