I have an exotic dog that needs special care by a professional. Lexi, the owner grooms my son who is about 5 pounds. She always makes him looks so beautiful and handsome! I ended up finding Lexi after my other groomer torched my son's testicles into black tar. This is the best place to take your dog. I always get appointments, and they are punctual w grooming so you don't leave your dog for hours waiting to hear back from them. Best groomer!!!!

Excellent service, super friendly staffs, descent price. When I ask for a new style, the groomer picks up quickly and she does pretty good job. I never had any problems for past three years. My dog, milkey loves to visit this place too!

I took Leo to this place for more than a year now. he loves going to this place.He's been to 2 other places previously around the area, but he would try to run out the door which means he is stressed out. but ever since we change to this place, he likes it there! LOVE the friendly service and Leo looks super cute & handsome when he's back from the grooming.

We took our precious baby Lola for a grooming. I was impressed with how clean and organized everything was and when we picked her up, she looked great. They did a wonderful job and Lexi was very pleasant.Definitely going back again :)

Can’t say enough good things.. it’s a 10/10 experience. We have this precious floof and last few grooming experiences in other places was a nightmare. Our friend referred us to Maru grooming.. they are very friendly, the place is well maintained , most of all they know how to handle the dogs calmly and once groomed my puppy looked like a star.. he loved it there .. I called last minute to schedule my dog for a grooming appointment. It was nice that they squeezed in for my dog's first encounter at this new place. Initially, I didn't like the short face hair cut. I had requested a rounder and longer trim on the face. So I didn't pay attention to my dog after the grooming session. I guess I was initially disappointed.The next day, When I was brushing my dog's teeth, I noticed his face was clear with no tear crust. The ears were all cleaned and no hair in the canals. His face looked clean without the red discoloration. The nails were nicely trimmed.That's when I realized he had the BEST and THOUGHTFULLY CLEAN haircut! Thank you.I WILL BRING MY DOG BACK AGAIN!

At first it was pretty good so i took both of my dogs here.Then one day my 2nd dog has a cut under her neck and they weren’t really apologetic and blamed my dog for suddenly moving. My dog is extremely timid and gets scared of everything so literally she will freeze during grooming and vet visits.Not only that but they charged us full. If they were a bit more apologetic and didn’t charge, I would come back.Lastly, it was an older woman who hurt my dog so if you get a older person, try to avoid that and ask for a change in groomer. Clearly inexperienced, which is fine as long as you admit the mistake but blaming the dog? Come on now…

I have been coming here for a few months now. And I have nothing but thanks and gratitude towards how the staff here cares for my puppy. Because I’m pretty new to this, the staff tells me what’s good for my puppy and really take care of him. No complaints. Just a bunch of thanks!!

I don't like to leave but reviews of anything, but I think groomers need to listen and follow what the owner wants. I went to this place because somebody by the park recommended and I told them specifically how I wanted and they did exactly the opposite. I said don't cut the forehead because I want her to look like a girl, they cut it. I said trim round around the nose, they cut it like a mustache. She looks chopped Smh! So upset 😡

Finally had the time to write this review after sharing with many in person in the area.As a person who used to praise this place and recommend to friends and neighbors, I can’t describe how disappointed I am after all these incidents.I was a loyal customer since 2020, I stopped going here as of Nov 2022 when my dog’s 5 nails bled from quick nail cut visit. It was small bleed, but still painful for the dog for sure!Guess what? There was absolutely NO APOLOGIES about this! The most ridiculous thing was that when I said I wanted to talk to Alex (the owner) about this bleeding who greeted us and took my dog inside 5 mins ago, I was told (by the receptionist) that “Alex is busy” and she did not even bother to stick out her face and come out to admit this situation. How unprofessional and irresponsible is that!!!I should’ve been warned cuz My neighbor’s dog had a cut in the ear around that time too before mine happened and noticed bled stop powder on it, which they didn’t notice until returned home. We were both so shocked and upset that they did not mention a thing about this cut and hid it.. How could they do that?!I personally noticed that the quality of grooming skills going down drastically since summer of 2021 probably due to high turn-overs and good&skilled groomers leaving. I always asked for the same lady to do my dog, but I dont think they kept this promise cuz they never shared if that groomer left or not, but I was able to tell that it was not the same person’s work..This place may still be good for some breed dogs that does not require extensive brushing and styling. But I question their MORAL so up to you.FYI - If you notice that your dog refuse to go inside when you get there, dont overlook that. I say cuz i thought my dog just didnt want to be groomed/washed. But thinking back, that was the signal to notify unpleasantness or mistreatment…

Very kind and friendly to my Golden Doodles, Jack and Laia that gets groomed at Maru. I can always feel extremely comfortable leaving these little ones with their friendly, knowledgeable, and professional staff. I have given them several chances to get it right but they continue to give my pup an uneven hair cut!! Very disappointed! On top of that they shaved him down when I asked them not too!

Great place for dog grooming. When our original groomers closed due to pandemic we were luck yo ding the place. We have two small dogs and they take great care of them. From little touch ups to full deluxe grooming.

I have a Samoyed that I take to Maru dog grooming. And I have to say they always do a phenomenal job not to mention they are so loving towards my dog. Whenever we go by there she practically drags me to go in there. The place is always clean and very friendly staff. There is also a new girl at the front and she is so sweet and friendly. I won’t take my dog any where else. Even if I move to a different town. Maru is the place to go.

GO TO POOCH PARLOR in Leonia, NJ and tell me if it's not hands down better!I've tried this place 3 times, and it got worst and worst every time i took my dog! I've recently moved to Fort lee from Manhattan and tried 3 groomers in Fort Lee (this being one) and another in Cliffside - and they all were lacking in quality. I could never get a good haircut for my poodle (I prefer a teddy bear face) and i always found them to be 3.5 star at best. I gave up and thought perhaps this was just the quality of workmanship to expect in NJ. They had a groomer called Sabina (pretty good), but she left them and all the haircuts have been bad since she left.Then we booked at POOCH PARLOR in Leonia,NJ with Chelsea - and i was beyond happy with the quality of workmanship! They followed my picture I brought in for my dog and knew exactly how to cut - absolutely perfection.

I am sooo happy to write this review to share a business with other new pet owners who really want a groomer who cares for their pet the way You actually do!I have a little goldendoodle and his hair is very high maintenance. I was referred to Maru by a close friend who also has a mini GD.First, when my husband called to make an appointment- it wasn’t some ridiculous 3 month waiting period nor was there a a financial deposit along with a 10 page questionnaire asking ALOT of questions.My husband called spoke to a kind person, answered a few questions and appt booked! We booked a weeks Out.Upon arrival the owners already knew to expect My pup, named Rover. He is a shy lil thing who was scared once he walked in.The groomer actually took time to welcomeMy pup and tried to make him comfortable before Taking him to be groomed. The shop is a posh little boutique that is filled with cute pet clothes. The overall cut/wash took about 3 hours. Once ready; they called us and we came.Our Rover looked like a completely new dog and had a happy happy attitude when we saw him. He didn’t look scared or anxious, or smelled too “perfumey” or stinky. He played in the shop for a few minutes and happily played with the groomers.This was all a surprise to me! This was the first time i truly felt confident that my puppy was happy and safe in someone else’s arms while i was away.I highly recommend this business. The prices are a moderately acceptable for the quality of service and care! Rover will definitely be visiting again! Thanks MARMU
