This was my first time here and I absolutely loved the store! Parking lot is a great size so parking was easy. Every single team member I encountered was friendly and helpful! They had just about every single register open and ready to get you on your way and there were no lines the entire time I was there. This is a great example of an international market with items from many, many countries! It was even able to buy a new larger Imusa Caldera that I had wanted for some time. So many great breads and even a fresh hot/cold food counter to take away. They even had musicians and a singer playing Christmas music and Santa and his helpers. Just lovely! Loved it and will be back!

Had a party with friends and we were looking forward to this cheesecake unfortunately it was not edible it had mold, possibly due to not being properly stored at the supermarket or in delivery.I tried to ask them to honor it based on the photos, I did not have a receipt and it was honestly frustrating since it was late after hours I couldn’t do to the supermarket to address it right away.Spoke to young gentleman behind liquor sales area who seemed like manager and he said he did not want to honor it.Just beware do not trust expirations date from here and also management should address how complaints are handled.

I've been buying wine there for the past 2 years never had a problem but the other like always I bought a gallon of wine and I noticed on my home that it had a little leek somebody must of opened it and then closed it so that made it go bad , but I it didn't bother me when I went to dinner and tasted the it had a bad taste so I decided to bring it back when I brought it back and told them about the wine being bad, they said the policy on receipt said liquors don't get any refunds, so I spoke to what looked like a kid of a manager and he said the same thing so that made me a little upset and said ok I'll get another one and can keep this one a stick it where the sun don't shine😆 and so the little sissy manager that can hardly speak English said not to come back to the store anymore and so I told him to go f...himself the only good thing about the store is the deli anyway, the meat is old the fish smells non of them speak any English oh trust me I won't be going back, and for the owner wich I know is Korean you should hire people that have a sense of humor and Speak English.

UPDATE: The store is now reopened as City Supermarkets, under new ownership! It looks fantastic, everything is fresh, and the prices are reasonable. Good place for produce, deli, seafood, meat, and Italian and Latin foods.

I usually get my food from here and have no problem. Purchased some jelly and I opened it to see that’s it’s full of mold. I am absolutely disgusted. This place needs to make sure that they sell everything fresh, apparently that’s not the case 🤢 my parents had purchased something else before and it had mold on it as well. Think I’ll shop elsewhere from now on….

If you look at the closing time it says 10pm I get out of work at 9 it takes me 45 mins to get there I try to make it before 10 pm and it be 9:45pm and they will already be close so instead of stating that your open till 10 witch your not please fix the time to 9:40 closing time or make your employee close correctly at 10pm

Prince yesterday they have had a glitch with their pricing machine and instead of doing their jobs and rectifying the matter I had to deal with their BS instead.I had 3 different meats in my cart that were labeled for 2 and 3 cents. I get to the checkout and they charge me 11.76$ instead of honoring the price they changed it. I have never known a grocery store not to honor the price listed on their products.I speak to the manager he says there was an error with the machine yesterday. Instead of making sure the product was off the shelf they tried to dupe the customer instead. I’ve NEVER EVER been to a grocery store that didn’t honor its prices mistake or not.Hell the manager didn’t even want to deal with me at all. I was advised not to leave that he tries to hide so he doesn’t have to deal with the meat pricing situation. The manager asked me if I wanted the meat for free that selling 3 packs of meat at 2 and 3 cents a piece didn’t sit well. I informed him that if I can’t trust the listed price of a product that they can change at the register at their will how am I suppose to know the real price. Their mistake had nothing to do with the consumer. The way it was handled was ridiculous after making me wait all because he didn’t want to deal with the situation.This store will never get another penny from me. You think your spending 20$ and they change the bill to 31.75$ freshwater on Bergen blvd don’t trust the listed price you may get gouged.SGT TaylorU.S. Army Retired

Extremely clean and well stocked supermarket. Told other people it was the cleanest and most organized supermarket I have ever been in. Many cashiers there to assist you and great deals. Going back when I have a larger list to compare prices but so far I'm very satisfied in the management and the well organized store. The supermarket is very big as well. This supermarket is top rate; it has an awesome deli department, great fresh fish department, and an incredibly extensive array of Latino food (every possible tortilla and cheese that you could ever imagine!)This is not a discount supermarket, but the quality and selection are something worth checking out!

Decent place I only go there for certain things, I don't like their fruits and vegetables. They have these awesome little Portuguese rolls that I love. The wine and spirits is pretty good as well in term of pricing and selection. Overall it's not bad but there is better supermarkets near by.

This place is disgusting and the owner changes the name of it every few years to avoid paying his taxes.The store's hygiene could use some work. Half the store, closer to the meat and fish section, smells STRONGLY like rotting meat and old fish. If you stay in the store longer than 10 minutes, you will come out smelling like fish. You don't even need to be near this section.The fruit and vegetable prices are very reasonable here, and that's the only reason I come here. However, even that has a catch, too -- most of the fruits and vegetables that are super cheap are also super rotten. They sell cheap blueberries, you think it's a great deal, take em home, and then find out every single one of them is sour as heck. You buy some great-priced strawberries, take em home, take em out of the container and find that they're all rotten in the middle. You get maybe 5 strawberries out of the deal that aren't completely moldy.Everything in this store comes with a catch, and it's obvious that their purpose is not providing great food to its customers, but tricking their customers and making the most money they can.

Excellent selection of International products. Seafood department is outstanding. Prices are comparable to other markets in the area.The produce section is diverse and well stocked with a large variety of fruits and veggies

Only go there because it’s right here but has gone down hill with each name change. Prices are very often mislabeled and ring up wrong. Liquor prices are nuts and the selection’s pretty crappy. Not sure who drinks all the random things they sell and the stuff most people would want to buy is out of stock.Whole place smells like a fish market; they really need to figure something out about that.But like I said, it’s still handy to pick up most stuff so I still end up there as needed.

I really enjoy the selection of produce at City. It all looks very healthy. They also have a wider selection of foods from other cultures or ones my family would eat (i.e. different types of potato, Puerto Rican seasoning, Jamaican seasonings). The even have turmeric root. Some items are more pricey, but the atmosphere is great.

As a supermarket, City is pretty much your average store. Some items are a bit pricey but they do run some fantastic sales. The liquor section has FINALLY opened and is very organized and stocked. Wide selection of wines, spirits and numerous hard seltzers at reasonably low prices but lacking IPAs and craft beers. The very few IPAs they do stock are generic like Voodoo Ranger, Sierra Nevada and Dogfish head, nothing that we all haven't already had and can find anywhere for the same price. I was hoping it would be more like a shoprite liquors, where I can choose an IPA or micro brew that I've never had or seen before. Overall I'd recommend the liquor section for wine, spirits, seltzers and domestic beers. If you're looking for seasonal, local or micro beers, expect a limited selection. We go to City often, mainly for the fresh produce and delicious bakery & the deli department. I'd recommend this place, and remember to check their circular for sales.
