I called to inquire about cat grooming and to my surprise they were able to take my matted cream point Himalayan, Kingston right away. I had the pleasure to meet Iris the owner who was there that day. Nikki, the groomer who specializes in cats made sure Kingston was comfortable throughout the entire process. He was heavily matted and she took the time to clean him up and gave him breaks in between. She requested we stop and willingly wanted to return back to finish his grooming so he felt comfortable. Nikki is professional and caring. Thank you Nikki and Iris, we LOVED our experience at Velvet Door Spa!

The absolute best! Iris does an amazing job and my Cece always looks adorable. I also really like that they don't put her in a cage and only take one pet at a time. For an anxious dog like Cece, this is so helpful. I won't go anywhere else.

I was looking for a groomer for our one year old "Ginger." Her hair was growing quickly and her prior home groomer moved to NY. I contacted The Velvet Door Pet Spa and received a quick response. They were able to take her in the same day. I have to say I was a little nervous. When we returned to pick her up both my husband and I were beyond happy and satisfied. Pamela gave our Ginger exactly what we wanted. She looks so beautiful and smells amazing. Ginger left a very happy camper as well. I HIGHLY recommended this place to anyone looking for a great groomer for their fur baby! Thank You Velvet Spa!!!

Amazing Grooming Service! We even got 3 toys for our first time visit! They have amazingly cute puppy clothes and accessories! Also the lady is super nice! And im usually very anxious when trying a new groomer and since we just moved to Bayonne i choose Velvet Door Pet Spa & Boutique and i felt very comfortable right away! Our pups couldn’t possibly look cuter! And not even mentioning they dressed our 3 pups with such cute easter bandanas! Absolutely attentive and amazing service! This is the only place ill bring my pups! Love it and I couldn’t recommend them more!

This place was a referral to me and I was very pleased. Firstly the customer service with booking process, I was grateful to get an appointment squeezed in. Upon arrival the greeting was welcoming, the boutique is super cute (of course we bought outfits) and the transformation on my fur baby was absolutely great! The scent they use is AMAZING!! It was my pup's first grooming appointment therefore minimal cut was done to not overwhelm him-as suggested by Pam. Overall we greatly appreciate this small business!

Velvet Foot Spa is awesome! We came in from the Bronx to support a Latina owned business. The owner and staff are Awesome! The spa is big and super cute as well! I got squeezed in last minute for our Maxton’s birthday for a grooming. We picked him up and he was so fresh and clean and smelled amazing. He also got a birthday treat and a birthday bandanna. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Velvet Door Spa and will definitely be taking Maxy back.

We booked an appointment through phone call on Sunday 12pm, because thats the only day for cat groom. and the lady who picked up the phone said $90 for our short hair and $110 for long hair.On Friday someone claimed she's the owner asked if we can change the appointment to 8am, which is pretty early. I'm fine with changing time but her reason is because she has dogs coming in and cats are aggressive to groom, and no "sorry" at all.So I asked if we can get discount, and she says she can give $95 and no way to do $90. and she said $90 was what the groomer said and not the owner. and "It's pure business"What on earth people do business like this? It's your obligation to make sure you and your staff tell the customers same price and time. If you have to make adjustment at least make an apology. It's understandable to change but not in a way like this.

We have a 10 year old girl that has extreme skin sensitivities. We went to a groomer 2 weeks ago that also does daycare and it was a horrible post-visit experience. She smelled amazing but she was itching so much we thought it was environment allergies or sudden food allergies. She scratched until she was raw in numerous areas of her body. We immediately went to search for a new groomer with better shampoo and conditioner. Let me tell you, she came out a different looking dog when we went to pick her up. Not only did she look amazing, she smelled good and was soft and fluffy! Best yet, she was itch free! We were booked in for over an hour and a half with no other dogs around which was amazing because the groomer was able to be attentive with our pup alone. I thought this was luck, but after speaking with the owner, it turns out she only takes x amount of dogs per day so they can have a stress free and attentive experience each time! Let's not forget the doggies get to roam free in this beautiful shop. No doggies in cages and it smells amazing there. Groomer was great, front desk staff was sweet, and owner is SO PASSIONATE about her business and knowledgeable of dog grooming. Although a bit more expensive than other places around Bayonne, I think the time, effort, attentive, non-itchy formulas (she said $75 a gallon - top of the line shampoo and conditioners compared to $24 a gallon) is worth the price. We did a face trim no cut/style, bath, blow dry, ear cleaning, sanitary trim, and anal gland expression for $107. Next time she will only need a bath so it'll be $50 for another spa day! YAY! The prices are very transparent on the site and honestly, I love that because it's upfront and not sketchy. The prices are also on a large board when you enter the shop. We will definitely return.(NOTE the super cute clothes in this boutique!)

Found this place on google & im super glad i did! my cat does not like when i try to cut his nails.. he would hiss & try to run away. I made an appointment here for him in hopes they will help me. let me tell you… it was great! my cat did not act up at all when she was cutting his nails. she did it super fast too. i love how he was calm through it all. i was so worried he would give her a hard time but im glad he didn’t. We are definitely coming back & also will try out other services they offer for cats. i highly recommend this place ❤️

I took my 7 month old yorkie for a groom with Damiska and I was not disappointed!!! My pup loved her as soon she held her. Damiska walked me through various hair cuts which was helpful as I am am a first time dog owner. My coco was handed to me looking absolutely adorable, I almost didn’t recognize her lol. I highly recommend Damiska ❤️

Brought my Boston Terrier Gizmo there for the first time and he loved it! He has anxiety and they were very well accommodating for him and the staff was great! I like how they let the dogs around in the common area while they wait instead of using cages, gives them an at home feeling. They also offer a wide variety of packages for your dogs grooming needs. Look forward to bringing Gizmo back again!

Treated my frenchie, Cartier to the Velvet Spa VIP package and the whole family noticed the difference of how clean and sweet he smelled when we came home! We also purchased the Moncler winter coat and Dior sweater. The staff was super friendly and they even have a person that works with a veterinarian, so of course she gave me some additional insight into his care.I highly recommend this spa for both grooming and shopping.. We’ll see you guys again next month!! If not sooner to get that Off White sweater as well!!

My dog was sprayed by a skunk at night, and it was nearly impossible for me to get the smell out of her fur because she doesn’t like being rinsed. The next morning, I called the Velvet Door Pet Spa & Boutique as they opened, and they immediately accommodated my situation. I was able to bring my dog in right away, and they offered solutions when I expressed my anxiety about my dog being scared or nippy during the process. Although my dog was pretty anxious when I dropped her off, she left soooooo happy and comfortable which I think shows how well they handle the dogs. They also said she did great during her bath which was amazing since I’ve had issues with bathing her in the past. I left without the smell of skunk and with a happy dog, and I would definitely recommend this groomer. And the little bandana at the end was also a very sweet touch.

Was looking forever for a reputable Cat Groomer - a place where I felt my fur babies were well cared for, considered and protected. On multiple occasions Velvet Door has made me feel just that. Damiska is a blessing! She took such gentle care of my baby and he came out with THE CUTEST little lion cut. She was beyond professional. My other cat has also visited the other Groomers and I’m just as happy with them and her haircuts. I’m so happy I found this place, I can’t say enough good things.

Absolutely adore everyone here. They show kindness, care and understanding to my fur babies. The services are incredible and their attention to detail is unmatched. They also offer a pet taxi service as an add on if ever needed.I have 3 dogs who love a spa moment but at times can be a bit skittish with new people. Not here at all.. they took to the staff like ducks to water. Overall a fantastic experience.

After Appa went through such a traumatic experience with a groomer at Bullyzone in Newark, NJ , it took me a while to trust anyone other than myself with his grooming. Today, however, I brought him to a dog spa owned by Iris, one of the many kind souls who reached out to me to ask how Appa was doing. Was in search for a new groomer as my original groomer was fully booked. I emailed Iris and she quickly responded with a phone call the same day. I expressed my concerns, as I have a dog aggressive dog. She was super accommodating and made sure that my dog would be the only dog there during her time slot. The groomer did an amazing job and even got some great pictures. We will be returning customers for sure!

I loved that I was able to chat instantly and book an appointment. Iris answered all of my questions and went through a variety of options. Our little Honey looked like a new dog! I had the BEST experience with Melanie!! I took my puppy for her 1st birthday and the pictures came out phenomenal! And I got them right away. There is nobody better.My wife and I adopted our rescue dog, Rufus, with some vision, joint, and reactivity issues and brought him to Velvet and I have never seen him as calm and comfortable in any other setting. Rufus reacted to any dog he saw with growls, barking, etc. But at Velvet he was always calm and even cuddled our groomer. The staff, service, and environment are 11/10.

Such a wonderful place with wonderful owners too! Brought my mini Aussie there and it was the best grooming experience I’ve had thus far!! I wouldn’t even call it a groomers because they’re so much more than that. I’d recommend this place to anyone. First of all they didn’t just make me comfortable but they also ensured that my pup did too. They walked me around to see the place and what the whole process looks like, kept me in communication the whole time to ensure I knew my baby was okay. Beyond that, it’s the best hair cut my dog has gotten, they take time to trim up the important areas most other places don’t take the time to do. My dog looked beyond handsome and smelled amazing too. I will definitely be going here from now on.
