We hosted our wedding at The Preserve in June 2023 and could not have possibly had a better experience! To start, the property is huge and a beautiful canvas on which to design your event. There is truly something for everyone and the bridal suite is a dream come true — by far the nicest I have ever seen! The staff are also incredible. From first contact to last hug goodbye, their team is with you every step of the way to answer and ASK all the right questions, talk you through a weekend’s worth of logistics, navigate vendor selection and so much more. Despite some rain and short notice changes to our plans, they were able to fully execute the vision for our day. They went above and beyond expectations to make the barn so beautiful for our reception and were able to guide our vendors through any timeline shifts caused by the weather. On top of the incredible logistics support, they truly make you and all your friends and family feel so welcome and cared for. Highly, highly recommend!!

I meant to leave this review much, much earlier! Mary and her team were unbelievable to work with for our 180 person wedding earlier this summer. They handled the (many!) personalities of my family and friends who were staying on site with kindness and graciousness, and it truly felt like home. Embarrassing to admit ... but when I had total bridal meltdowns, Mary and her team were quick to come to the rescue. There is literally no problem they can't solve. Not to mention the beauty of the location. Every room is so thoughtfully decorated, so cozy, and clean. We used every square inch of this location, from our rehearsal dinner and toast and roast in the barn, to the reception in the tent, to the ceremony in the front of the property, to getting ready in the bridal suite, to breakfast in Mock Manor. I have so many friends who now want to get married here too. It is truly such a special place, in no small part because of the people who run it. Thank you again (and again! and again!!).

We’re so happy!Throughout our engagement and planning process, Mary and the Preserve team were so helpful, responsive, and kind, and really made us feel like family! We’re planning to stay in touch for a long time, and feel as though we’ve made friends. We got married at The Preserve at Chocorua in November 2022 and it will forever be one of the most special places to us! From the moment we first visited, we knew it was going to be the perfect place to begin our marriage. It is truly one-of-a-kind and the team makes you and your guests feel so welcome the entire time. We had our immediate family and bridal party stay on property from Thursday – Sunday of the wedding weekend and it was so wonderful having the space to bring all our loved ones from so many different aspects of life together at TPC. From the barn to the farmhouse and cottages to the grounds, everything is so well-kept and beautiful. For anyone looking to get married in New Hampshire, we cannot recommend The Preserve enough. We look forward to visiting in the years to come and reminiscing on the countless memories made during one of the best weekends of our life. Thank you to Mary, Erica, Sam, and the entire TPC team for making our wedding dreams come true!

I can't praise The Preserve at Chocorua enough. Mary and her staff are beyond amazing, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience. The landscape is reminiscent of a storybook, with picturesque views of the mountains and natural waterways. The attention to detail in creating the ambiance is remarkable; it's elegant yet cozy. What impressed me most is their flexibility in accommodations, suitable for any occasion. The positive energy here is invigorating. Whether wandering the property or just relaxing, a sense of tranquility prevails. The Preserve at Chocorua combines nature's beauty with genuine hospitality—a true rarity. Mary and her staff have curated an exceptional experience that lingers in your heart. If you're seeking a first-class venue with top-notch service, look no further than this gem.

This is a long over due review of this venue. Talk about views at this place. The staff is amazing. Erica goes above and beyond. As Wedding Photographer she was great with letting us get shots no one else has. The barn is just stunning. And having cabins and rooms makes this the perfect place for a wedding

If you have the opportunity to book with The Preserve, stop what you are doing and book NOW! Mary and the rest of the staff were so helpful (helpful doesn't even begin to describe it). Having ~50 people with you all weekend sounds like it could be overwhelming, but it is the complete opposite. The houses and cabins are adorable, well maintained and have everything you need (down to sugar!). Each morning you can have group breakfasts, walks on the property, some yard games. Getting ready the day of, the bridal suite was everything you need in a venue. The views are amazing and with so many options to have your ceremony, you do not have to worry about what the New England weather can bring. Leading up to the wedding, The Preserve is amazing working with vendors. No one wanted to leave after my wedding and my friends are already asking when we are going back to be apart of their many events. Booking at the The Preserve was the best decision I could have made! I would book there 1,000 times over if I could! With the addition of using their spaces for your rehearsal dinner and welcome cook outs, you really get it all there!

Our daughter & husband just had their wedding at The Preserve (Oct 2023). It was just an amazing weekend celebration. The staff is just fantastic. They are very friendly and take care of every detail. The owner, Mary, is a fantastic host. This property is second to none. We would give The Preserve our highest recommendation! Thank you for everything!

The Preserve at Chocorua is truly a magical place. The photos online of the beautiful property speak for them self. That being said, the special secret that makes the Preserve a dream is the people who run this property.Mary is one those people from the moment you meet her you can tell she is an amazing person. Everyone on the Preserve team is so kind, personable, and hard working. They go above and beyond to make sure your special day is everything you dreamed of.My Husband and I got married at the Preserve in October 2023 on a rainy weekend and it was prefect. If you want to book a place that rain or shine your wedding dreams will still come true - this is the place. Mary and her team are prepared to handle it all.I am sure we will be back at the Preserve in the future! We would 1000% recommended having your wedding weekend at the Preserve!

GUEST PERSPECTIVE: We were guests this weekend for my nephew and his beautiful bride’s wedding. My family of 6 (3 couples) had our own little section of the inn. It was beautiful and quaint. The whole property is cared for extremely well. We weren’t sure what to expect for being a 130+ year old property but they have it all figured out. Beautiful and plentiful Beekman bath products, crisp white linens, towels galore, plenty of power outlets, air conditioner in each window, iron and ironing board, claw foot tub, handmade essential oil air freshener spray and linen spray, cozy room decor - and that’s just the bedrooms! The house was full of rooms and nooks where people gathered in pairs or in large groups - including a bar. The kitchen area was about 3-4 rooms with everything you could imagine needing from coffee urns to dishes to baking needs and ice cream toppings. The grounds were impeccably manicured with lilacs, iris, hollyhocks, raised beds for a kitchen garden - sweet gardens everywhere. The front porch was my favorite thing. Sitting with family, catching up, and watching the hummingbirds and chipmunks - so relaxing.Cutest cabins, also fully appointed. My elderly parents were thrilled to have a cabin with a front porch where they sat and received loving young(er) visitors and observe as easy going friends and family do their thing - plus more hummingbirds in the lilac bushes and a sweet black capped chickadee busy making a home in the birdhouse perched in the garden. There was a golf cart available for folks to get around too! We took it on a little tour of the grounds. Got to see all the houses and cabins and other outbuildings. The barn was perfection. The space was plentiful and it had a huge deck and a side patio with a hearth and gazebo and large sitting area with outdoor heaters. To the owners, there was nothing not thought of - beautiful property! Thank you for making it more than it had to be. It made all the difference in the world to all the families after being cooped up with covid masks and Zoom calls. It’s just what we all needed!!

I wish that I could offer more than a 5-star rating for The Preserve as our experience from when we initially discovered this gem until present day, has been one-of-a-kind. My (now) husband and I were living out in Colorado and searching for a wedding venue that really represented us, but nothing was really piquing our interest, until we discovered The Preserve at Chocorua. My mom & sister went to check it out for us and without even being there, we immediately knew this was where we wanted to get married. Beyond the beauty and charm of The Preserve property, we were all amazed at the incredibly kind and helpful communication we had with Mary, Samantha, and Erica to start. We would later meet Paul, Steve, Julia, Ellen & Carrie, who all helped our weekend exceed our expectations. To set the scene - We booked our October 2021 wedding date very early (back in 2019) which meant we had a long time to plan. However, this didn’t affect any of the communication. Anytime I emailed or texted someone at the preserve, I got almost an immediate response. Beyond just getting a helpful response, the team believed anything was possible, so any request I asked about seemed to be accommodated without hesitation. Some highlights for us with booking the preserve included: lodging for ~60 guests for the long weekend (in breathtaking New England style rooms), being able to utilize their amazing décor pantry to make our tablescape dreams come to life, several beautiful locations to select from to get married (we got married in the sap house and had our reception in the big barn), full use of their commercial size kitchen (including a walk-in fridge), wood provided to have cozy fires in the pavilion and around the property, beautiful farmhouse tables for dinner and vintage sofas to decorate, outdoor heaters provided, ability to order in advance homemade breakfast items to serve our guests, and their on-site staff that helped us with absolutely anything we needed while we were there. We also utilized their expansive yard to host a day of games with a really fun live band and delicious food truck. They helped us set up and clean up anything we needed and always with a smile! To top it all off, my husband and I were offered the opportunity to stay in our lodging on the property (Veery Cabin) the Sunday after our wedding, once everyone had left. This may not seem like a big deal, but it meant everything to us to be able to spend time saying goodbye to our guests, not have to pack everything up to leave that day and truly soak in the memories. We loved our extra day so much! With all of that said, the biggest highlight and something that I think will always have us recommending The Preserve was the love we felt. Everyone we met and worked with at The Preserve welcomed us with big open arms and exuded a level of warmth and comfort that you just don’t typically get. We felt like the property was our home away from home over our wedding weekend and that was so special for us.Our stay was even more magical than I ever imagined it could be. We feel so blessed to have been able to get married at The Preserve at Chocorua! 100% recommend!Xo, Abbie & Jedidiah

Best wedding venue ever. All decor options on site. The owner suggested the caterer and local vendors. We were able to enjoy our visit and relax with both families prior to the wedding. Lovely facility, friendly owner. Great place to call home for a few days. Quiet and back to nature. All weddings should be as relaxed and lovely as this location. Our room was cozy and clean. Slept great an really enjoyed the living room. We even got in a walk a few days during our visit. Several guest went snowshoeing and sledding too. Highly recommend.

After visiting 5 other venues and mentally committing to a Summer or Fall Wedding, we arrived at The Preserve, met with Mary on the porch, and confidently pivoted to Winter and NYE. BEST decision ever. We had the absolute greatest weekend of our lives, and got a lot of “this is the best wedding I’ve ever been to” comments (humble brag). The Preserve, Mary, Shannon, Paul, and the staff all helped create the perfect Wedding Weekend. From the home cooked meals and everything in between; it felt like a winter weekend reunion away with all of our closest friends and family. We made the most of the property. We congregated a lot in the pub, the main seating areas, and the porches. My friends and I did a little Barn workout on Friday morning with the provided yoga mats. Given we had a winter wedding, we used the property for photos including the library, pub, porch, and in front of the sap house! Endless moody photo opps. The “Pinterest Closet” has all the decorative stuff so you don’t need to buy any of that, thank goodness. By the time we would need to buy that stuff, we were glad we didn’t have to.Arriving on Wednesday was so helpful to get settled in and nest for the weekend ahead. With guests arriving Thursday - Sunday, we had some shifting around to do. They changed all of the sheets and made it effortless to facilitate!Thursday was such a highlight for our guests staying on site. We had a snowboarding trip at Attitash earlier in the day to kick off the weekend. We also did some sledding in front of the property upon our return. Pro Tip: the toboggan is built to RIDE. When we tired ourselves out from snow sports, Shannon and Mary cooked us the BEST homemade soups and dips on the planet. On the menu we had: Beef Chili, Veggie Chili, and Chicken Barley accompanied with cornbread and bread from scratch. All of our friends were raving about dinner. Not joking, I woke up the next day and the beef chili was my first thought - so tender. The homemade dips included buffalo spinach artichoke and french onion dip. It was great to have a nice home cooked meal after doing all of the snow things. Felt very cozy and inviting. People really lived for those vibes as well.Sunday brunch was also a staple. I’ll probably talk about those quiches for the rest of my life. Others will too. Aside from the quiches, there was also a full spiral ham, pancakes, bacon, biscuits, potatoes, gravy, fruit, breads, yogurt, granola, whipped cream, and home made scones and other desserts. Reminiscing for hours over brunch as people gradually rolled out was the perfect way to cap off the weekend.Shannon and Mary were just so fantastic and I can’t stop talking about them. They helped get an extra room in the bridal suite together for one of our guests arriving the day of the ceremony. Everyone actually thought it was the best room as they put a fantastic King bed in there and the suite already has a really nice and stocked private bathroom. The guests staying there were staying on their anniversary so it gave them some wedding energy!! They loved it.We used the Carriage House as the Groomsman House and my husband's friends and significant others really valued having their own space / house. It’s a really nice and spacious house with nice rooms and beds!I could go on for days but wow what an incredible experience. SO glad we didn't elope. Thanks so much Mary and team! Cannot wait to see you all again!

Very magical. I usually like to leave very detailed reviews, but to be perfectly honest, I'd rather not dissect this experience into service industry nuts and bolts. I dream of building a cabin like the little one we stayed in. This place is special.

July 1-4th, 2022I want to thank Mary and all her staff at The Preserve, Tamworth, New Hampshire for the fabulous job they did this weekend for Andrew and Ellen's wedding. It was everything they imagined, plus more.It is a beautiful venue, inside and out. Rooms are so clean and cozy. Plenty of space for lawn games, soccer, volleyball and fire pits are all over. The gardens and views are spectacular.Mary and her team responded to emails quickly and efficiently prior to the wedding. Their knowledge of the area and vendors is beyond comparison. Their storeroom of wedding supplies is unbelievable; furniture, vases, linen, china, tripods, candle holders and so much more, all for your use, They work tirelessly to meet your needs and succeed. They are creative, polite, calm under pressure, fun and very professional.I look forward to another stay at the Preserve in the future.Terri and Nathan Emerson

My wife and I hosted our wedding at The Preserve at Chocorua in July 2021. Everything about the venue was perfect and could not have been better. The property itself is gorgeous and spacious and includes multiple spaces for events. We had a welcome party under the pavilion, our rehearsal dinner in the tent and reception in the barn.On top of that, the property has room for ~60 guests to stay for the long weekend, which added valuable time for us to spend with family and friends. Having the property for Thursday - Sunday was a huge benefit that really made the entire weekend. And finally, Mary, Erica, and the rest of the staff at The Preserve are so incredibly helpful, kind, and fun. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and really took a lot of the stress out of both the planning as well as the weekend itself. In summary, I could not recommend a better venue for a wedding. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate to make the same choice every single time.

My husband and I and our 60 closest friends stayed at the Preserve over our wedding weekend, including using the barn for two receptions and the sap house for our rehearsal dinner. I cannot say enough positive things about the property, the owner Mary, and the other family and employees (Samantha, Erica, etc). First, the property was clearly designed with a huge amount of thoughtfulness about what people want and find convenient. Rustic and historic yet very well-maintained, tons of supplies, plenty of parking, etc. But beyond the features was the helpfulness and kindness of everyone there. Mary in particular made our weekend go from memorable to magical. We had a very early morning question about hot water and Mary took care of everything immediately. We hoped to shift around the layout of heavy furniture in the barn in a couple hours on a weekend, and Mary ensured it would happen without an issue or a need to think about it any more. We had to make some in-person vendor payments in Conway, and Mary volunteered to help us without hesitation. Having her and her team on our side gave us infinite confidence that our weekend would flow smoothly and ensured we could focus on our marriage and our friends and family. Finally, the property itself really is an oasis from the bustle of contemporary life, with quaint and warmly furnished surroundings that offer guests a great respite from their day-to-day. Between the people and the property, The Preserve will always hold such a dear place in our hearts. Thank you so much!

My cousin got married here over the summer. It was beautiful, and the staff was amazing. Everyone in the wedding party was more than pleased.11/12/17: The owners said the barn was too engulfed to save, but they're thankful that the Inn was spared any real damage.Reportedly, no one was hurt, and the owners are planning for the future.I already posted pictures of the venue before the fire, including some of my cousin's wedding pictures, but the app won't let me re-post them in this review.I attached some pictures (via Twitter) of the catastrophic barn blaze; it's a miracle no one was hurt.

I would highly recommend The Preserve at Chocorua for a wedding/event venue. Mary and her staff were amazing and so helpful for anything that we needed to make our wedding weekend a success. The main house and cottages were very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The Barn was beautiful and the perfect place to have a wedding. Thank you for such a wonderful weekend.

My husband and I can't recommend The Preserve at Chocorua enough. We had an incredible four days of wedding activities with our closest friends and family there over July 4th weekend, 2019.The family who runs the venue are incredibly warm, loving, caring, generous, and helpful in any way you could possible need. They really want you to have the best time ever. We were even surprised that they left individually wrapped home-baked cookies in each guest bedroom with fresh cut flowers - what a lovely and welcoming touch for our guests! The venue itself is picture perfect for an outdoor or indoor wedding (our outdoor wedding turned indoors due to an unexpected rainstorm). There are multiple different sites on the property for the ceremony and cocktail hour and dinner for you to choose from, all with their own unique charm. The accommodations on the property (up to 60+) are also very well maintained, rustic, but with excellent design touches and our guests loved them! The landscaping is remarkable with plenty of wildflowers, greenery, and color all around the property. It does take quite a bit of extra planning since everything is BYO but, as long as you're willing to think through all those details, it really was the most magical wedding to have our nearest and dearest stay on site for four days as it really brought everyone together like we never expected. 💕

Breathtakingly beautiful venue that is spacious and accommodating. Lots of history there, well kept, and seemingly something new to explore around the whole venue. I went for a magical weekend wedding that will never be forgotten. It was perfect and felt like a vacation in paradise- wish we could have had more time there!

As a wedding planner, I work at a lot of venues and I have so many couples looking for "hidden gems" that can host them and their guests for an entire weekend, provide a stunning setting for their ceremony and reception, and that is also close to fun things for everyone to do. The Preserve at Chocorua hit the nail on the head, and then some. There truly is something so magical about this entire venue, and during a wedding there I recently planned and designed, every guest and vendor was raving about how special it was. It was so much for them to be able to stay on site in the guest rooms and cottages, and they felt so at home in the Mock Manor House and the barn's event space. From a planning perspective, the entire team at the Preserve is so kind, warm, and helpful - you truly can't ask for better. The couple and I loved getting to choose from the Preserve's inventory of decor and furniture pieces, and everything came together perfectly. I cannot recommend this venue enough - I hope to be back there again soon!

Mary, Erica, Sam, Jodi and the entire Preserve team can’t be beat. In the wedding industry, they say everyone is nice, but this amazing team blew us away with their kindness, flexibility, communication and openness. From the moment I spoke with Sam to schedule a tour and talk about booking the venue, to the last interaction with Mary driving away after our wedding weekend (our car battery died and we needed a jump), we felt like family. We booked the date and venue prior to COVID-19, and are so happy that we ultimately chose them. Pandemic or not, the venue has all of the space necessary to adequately and comfortably accommodate and distance our on-property and day-of guests in a way that felt purposeful. The gorgeous barn, sap house and the pavilion were perfect for the entire weekend use and all of the guests kept raving about how perfect the property was. The perks of this venue go beyond its space and beauty. The on property accommodations were extremely comfortable, with many of our guests spending some extra quality time in the library near the fire. Beds, sheets and towels were all very cozy. The bridal closet includes so many wonderful decor items - it’s like an Etsy dream room. The beautiful farmhouse tables, benches and soft seating gave us the cozy vibe we wanted. I could go on for a while! The team went above and beyond to accommodate all of my requests and respond to my concerns regarding having a wedding celebration during COVID. They were very well versed in the most up-to-date guidelines, and always had solutions to potential problems. The team worked seamlessly with all of the vendors to ensure everyone had a safe and wonderful time. We cannot recommend The Preserve at Chocorua enough. We will hold the venue and the entire staff in our hearts forever.

My husband and I got married at The Preserve August 2020. Everything about the venue was amazing! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we elected to delay our wedding a few months - the TPC team was incredible throughout the entire re-planning process. Sam, Mary, and Erica (and the entire Preserve staff) were extremely organized and went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend run smoothly. Erica even helped us run our rehearsal the evening before and stepped in to help with so many last minute details! The grounds are absolutely magnificent throughout every season (we know this because the Preserve allowed us to make many trips to visit throughout the planning process)! All of our guests continue to talk about the accommodations and how much they enjoyed their stay. The Preserve staff works so hard to keep the venue and rooms pristine. In addition, amidst COVID-19 precautions The Preserve was extremely prepared with sanitizing stations, and the large grounds made it very easy for social distancing. The opportunities are endless when hosting a wedding at The Preserve - we utilized the barn and tent for our reception and ceremony. The groomsmen utilized the sap house for getting ready, while the girls were pampered in the amazing bridal suite! The venue also has an ENTIRE room full of décor that we used for both the rehearsal dinner and reception. We loved working with the entire team at TPC - the venue is family run and treat their couples like part of that family. We would highly recommend The Preserve in a heartbeat!!

Went there for a wedding in February. The place sure was covered with snow, but everything was pretty! They did a great job of arranging the barn for both reception and ceremony. All the staffs are nice. They are always there for you to help all your needs.
