Penny and her staff are extremely helpful. I had been slowly trying to add some raw to my dogs’ diet. Penny and her staff are a great resource for this. When one dog’s normally soft coat suddenly got very coarse, I again sought answers at Unleashed. Penny suggested sardine toppers for the food. After just a few weeks, his coat was back to its shiny, soft self! Highly recommend Unleashed!

My boy can be VERY skittish and doesn’t typically like strangers. I always warn new people to be really slow and watch closely to see how he reacts. He will usually put his head down. Kinda lean away and then Show his teeth when he’s nervous. He’s never actually bitten anyone because I watch him closely!! Or I just tell people to not try to pet him at all. I was nervous to go to a new groomer. He IMMEDIATELY loved Tori and she was wonderful with him. When I picked him up she was on the floor and he was laying there letting her love on him. What?!? I will get him groomed more often than needed just because he loved her soooooo much! Please don’t ever leave Tori!!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ No wonder they’re booked out so far. Already scheduled our next visit!!! And he looks great!!!!

I took my two miniature schnauzers (8 years old) to the Unleashed salon at Dog Star Canine in Springfield for grooming today. The groomer, Tia, did a fantastic job and Teddy and Opal look great! Tia took extra care with Teddy, who has recently gone blind, and made sure that he was not scared to get his nails trimmed, which usually causes him some anxiety. Thank you so much for taking great care of my fur babies!

Went in because my new puppy wouldn't eat the food the breeder sent with her. After not eating for 24 hours I went in for help. The ladies were kind and helpful and recommended "Open Farm" chicken and salmon puppy kibble..Rosie carefully pikcked out the open farm and left the breeders in the dish. Great store!

I own a pet care business and have come to Unleashed for many years for all my pet supplies and needs. I have a client who has a dog that has had horrible skin chewing & scratching (what we believe to be allergy issues.) My client has spent hundreds of dollars at different veterinarians trying to resolve this issue but it has never quite gone away. This week when my client dropped off his pup he let me know he went to Penny and she recommended a new formula of food for him to try. He wasn't sure how it was going to go, and after many years of disappointments, he didn't seem too excited. I confidently told him that I completely trust Penny's advice, I know that she researches her products and attends seminars and classes to make sure she is up on her knowledge, mindfully & conscientiously choosing every item she decides to carry in her shop, she has never steered me wrong in all these years and that I think we will find success in this new food. I was elated to be able to tell my client when he returned for his dog, that within the week under my care and observation of him since he switched foods, I noticed a vast improvement in this dog's overall comfort level no longer itching biting and scratching himself! I am so grateful for Unleashed, they are an incredibly friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable staff. If you have any questions about your pet's needs, rest assured you can go into Unleashed and there will be plenty of solutions and products to try that can fit just about any need you might come across with your pets. Also.. Penny and her girls often have all kinds of interesting facts and tips about these products when you buy them so be sure to ask questions, you might learn something exciting! Amazing Pet Supply store. After driving cross-country with a 9 month old puppy to visit family. My dogs favorite treats were running low, it has been hard to find the brands and types he likes. However as fortune has it, unleashed has everyone of his favorites. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Great healthy and clean food, toys, and supplies for dogs of all ages.

When we moved out of state we couldn't find any local suppliers for our dog's raw food which was critical to her health. After many attempts with pet stores who often seemed bothered by the requests we learned about Unleashed.From the first email with Penny it was clear that we were in good hands. She was communicative, helpful and generous in her time to setup the first delivery so that we could get the food we needed. I can't say enough about the care and service.Unleashed is unmatched.

It has been a true blessing that we have found Unleashed! Our British bulldog has been struggling with allergies all her life. It has gotten so bad that we visited the vet at least twice a month. If not ear than eye infection, paws, skin, allergic reaction to many of the prescribed by the vet antibiotics and steroids. After lots of testing we found out that sticking with one protein would be best. The vet really wanted us to go with rare exotic proteins, but then which carbohydrates do you choose so the dog doesn’t flare again! 🤷🏻‍♀️ lots of sleepiness nights thinking about the right solution till we walked into Unleashed and were given advice that worked both for our dog and our wallets. It was truly amazing to talk to a person who just cares about your pet. Staff at “unleashed” listens and cares on top of having tremendous knowledge of what is best for your pet. We switched to raw one protein diet despite the recommendation of our vet. It has been the best decision we ever made. I haven’t been to the vet in 6 months. Duchess has turned from a stinky, yeasty, sick, overwhelmed and overweight dog who barely moved or wanted to do anything to a happy, healthy, non smelly at all, playful beautiful bulldog. She hasn’t had any infections since we switched, her paws healed completely. We couldn’t thank all Unleashed staff for the help and care. Plus they deliver and got tons of perks to shop there. 5 *review isn’t enough for this place ❤️

Highly Recommend Unleashed!!The staff at Unleashed is amazing! They make an effort to get to know their customers very well! When I walk into the store, they immediately point me to my dog’s preferred food! The staff at Unleashed is also VERY knowledgeable about the right nutrition for the individual needs of dogs, which I value very highly! Knowing that they attend nutrition classes for dogs is very comforting to me and makes me trust their recommendations! The matter fact that I can go to the store and can chose between many brandnames that are safe, nutritious and well researched makes me feel very good about shopping there as well! Again, I can highly recommend Unleashed for all the reasons mentioned above!

Had my dogs groomed. I asked for a short cut on both and they were barely trimmed. One came home with a big blood blister looking thing on his face. I had to take him to the vet to get it freezed off. The other dog, didn't get hair cut between the back legs... I'm not going back.

My dog eats a food the store doesn’t typically carry and Penny special orders it and always has an extra stock in back. One of the best qualities of this store are things are constantly changing with new products. Penny does her research and is always brining it in new inventory and fun surprises!

My 6 yo lab loves to snag bread, crackers …. from the kids or off the counter. He slowly started to gain weight and started to refuse his walks or play fetch. I tried to get him to lose weight by decreasing his current ( high quality dog food) and minimize his food theft from the kids with no results. I went to Unleashed for their thoughts and after following their suggestions, amazingly he lost 16 pounds in 4 months! He has so much energy and loves to run, fetch, go on walks…. again. His overall behavior has improved as well. Thanks Unleashed!

I have been a customer at Unleashed for nearly a decade now. Their service and knowledge are absolutely impeccable. I’ve gotten more and better informed advice from the owner and staff here than my own vet - and on more than just one occasion. They are all pet owners who treat and care for their pets as they would their own children. (Because to them, they ARE just as important as human children!) I totally appreciate and am in sympathy with this loving and compassionate attitude towards our fellow creatures with whom we share the earth. They even have a free delivery service for local customers. Who does that nowadays, in the era of Amazon? Plus, the owner regularly donates to philanthropic and local efforts, including donating free gift cards to my town’s July 4th dog parade. Truly, one could not pick a better local business at which to shop, and I feel so fortunate to be able to go there.Now, on to the review placed by Chris E. It seems to me that this is a person who was simply looking for a reason to be angry before he even walked into the store. 30 seconds worth of observation does not a sound judgment make. There are plenty of times when I’ve walked into the shop and the owner or staff are engrossed in thoroughly helping and attending to another customer, and have not noticed me walk in - or perhaps they have, but do not want to be rude or inattentive to the customer whom they are currently helping. However, they are just as attentive to me when it’s “my turn”. One needs to be a little more patient than 30 seconds! The world does not revolve around any one individual, as we would all do well to remember. As for the mask business, owner Penny spent 2K on a large screen divider at the register to protect staff and customers. Social distance is kept, and as far as I am concerned, if a customer wearing a mask feels comfortable enough talking to unmasked staff at a reasonable distance, that is their individual prerogative - especially since I’ve never seen more than maybe five or six people in the entire place at a time, max, for all the years I’ve shopped there. Reasonable protective measures were taken in the store, they are fully compliant with the protective measures mandated by the state of NH, and for someone who has never shopped there to leave a nasty review based on half a minute’s worth of observation seems quite deliberately malicious - especially at a time when small businesses are truly struggling. We should be doing everything we can to be supportive and lift each other up during this time, not drag each other down.Penny, Abby and the team- you are all doing a great job! Thank you so much for everything you do. My husband and I are tremendously grateful!!

My tiny little dachshund, only 4 months, has been through the ringer. She overcame parvo, worms, and parasites, but she still wasn’t right and clearly wasn’t feeling good either. I was given the run around by many people, even the vet, and no one was really giving me the time or the care to help my little Penny. She was losing weight, not eating anything, and her anxious demeanor was taxing on both of us. I was at my wits-end and so was Penny before I called Unleashed.I explained everything to Penny (the owner... also kismet, both puppy and owner sharing the same name...) and she knew exactly what to do. She was caring, but more than anything extremely knowledgeable and confident about Penny’s condition and the food regimen she suggested in order to get her better once and for all. It was exactly what both Penny (puppy) and I needed, because everyone else was inexperienced, wishy-washy, or didn’t care.Now two days, after following the regime Penny gave us, my puppy is eating everything I give her and is excited about it. She has put on 5 ounces in two days, which is incredible, since she only weighs 4lbs, and her demeanor has completely changed. She is calm and a pleasure to be with. Abbey went above and beyond to help us understand our dog, Layla’s new food allergy. She asked detailed questions about her diet, play and behaviors and Abbey quickly knew the steps we should take to help her feel better. I’m always so happy to walk in the door at Unleashed. A smile comes across my face as I cross the threshold. Penny the owner and her trusty and marvelous employee, Abby have become friends and trusted members of our family. I’ve learned so much about how to safely, nutritiously, and educatedly feed our fur-balls which is a hugely important part of my life as our critters are our children. I love the vibe in the store and they have awesome and unique products that are only available in top quality, specialty boutique pet stores. Their collar and leash selection is awesome, they have a wonderful line of pet and human CBD oil products, and I love their line of Open Farm Humanely Raised foods. I have no reason to shop anywhere else, but at Unleashed for all our furry family needs. Lastly it’s just super important to me to keep our spending small biz and local! Thank you Unleashed for being there for us!p.s. The super affordable monthly delivery service is super convenient! They deliver last minute too! 🐾💕🐾

Unleashed is a nice boutique/independent retail pet supply shop. They offer in-house grooming [by appointment], self-service dog wash [on Sundays only], high-end/high-quality pet foods & treats, a decent selection of toys from brands like Chuck-it, Greenies, Kong and many, many more. They have an abundant selection collars, harnesses & leashes from New Hampshire's own Lupine brand, among others. They offer solutions for mild health & wellness issues from skin care (shampoos, sprays, etc.) to calming treats to specialized foods to mentally stimulating toys to advice! The majority of the staff are well-informed & can help you find solutions for whatever you seek. The 2 groomers are very well liked & respected by their human clients and handle all sorts of dogs with ease. The local, extremely pet-friendly, wealthy community seems to love this independently owned shop & has made it it staple of the New London shopping experience. My sole word of warning: Cost. Due to its location in a wealthy community (an average family income of $100k/year), Unleashed offers these high-end products at a premium. It's difficult to walk out of this shop without spending $50 or more. If money is no obstacle, and you prefer the "shop local" philosophy, and you pamper your pets, Unleashed certainly fits the bill. Even I love to occasionally splurge on myself (did I mention their cute & humorous T-shirt selection?) & my fur-babies, especially when the next closest pet supply store is a 30 minute drive in any direction, and I am a believer/supporter/champion of the Shop Local movement. I definitely recommend checking out Unleashed if you live in or visit the New London area, just be wary of your budget! : )

I have been here many times the last time I went I was beyond disappointed. I waited at the counter for 10 minutes before anyone waited on me they knew I was there but busy talking. Then I asked when I could schedule my dog to get a haircut and was told they were booking two months in advance in a not very friendly tone. It seemed I was Inconveniencing her by trying to do businesses. I am all for shopping local but I took my business elsewhere.
