What a hidden gem! Gorgeous suites, seriously one of the best Marriott location rooms I’ve stayed in. The overall ambiance, design, and decor in the hotel is also very attractive. Location is perfect, right in the town square surrounded by shops, restaurants, and attractions. The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly. Breakfast was delicious and open later than most hotels. Would 100% recommend!

There is a lot to like about the place- the building is interesting, and I really like the old feel of it. But the walls are very thin. It feels a bit like you're hanging out with your neighbor. Also, the large rooms with the upstairs downstairs set up are very cool, but there are no shades, except the thin privacy cover, so in the morning, the light comes just pouring in. I can see there used to be large curtains there- the rods are still up, but there are no curtain on them. :( If you are looking at this set up for a family with kids and they rise with the sun, you are not going to want to stay here. I sleep with a eye mask and it was still too bright. Was up at dawn each morning.

Rooms were much larger than standard, more windows too! Of course it's old in an old building...Breakfast was one of the best for a standard hotel chain, we had loads of raspberries! Have you ever had raspberries, blueberries and blackberries at a buffet breakfast of a hotel chain.I loved walking downtown Keene

A really cute location outfitted in a historic building. Very friendly staff. The room was very spacious and had large windows for natural light. Breakfast was better than most hotel chains; it was the first time I've been served fresh berries at a free hotel breakfast!

I love Marriott properties but this one let me down. The location is fantastic but the rooms are old and not well kept. The curtains are missing the window screens have large holes in them also the carpets need to be replaced just overall rundown.I suggest staying at the Courtyard by Marriott it’s newer, much nicer and also has a great location in town.Rooms: Rooms are dated, rundown and not up to the Marriott standards so best to check the Courtyard by Marriott next door

In a historic building, this location is perfect, with each room having its own distinctive charm. The breakfast was a delightful spread, and the staff at the front desk were exceptionally helpful.Walkability: Great location in downtown Keene. We did not have a vehicle and we were able to walk to a lot of places.

Great location in an old building. Most rooms are nice, but most do not offer much of a view. The location is great, but the overall layout is awkward. Parking is on the top floor of a parking garage back behind the hotel and isn't easy to get to. Unloading you car and packing back up is a struggle. You can't get to your car easily in the back at all. The only option is to hope that there is parking on the street in front. This requires going down a flight of stairs or ramp though. The only elevator is the slowest ever and is the only way to get up to the 2nd and 3rd floors. Their are stairs to take down but both take you to outside the hotel at the ground floor and there's no way to enter back through these doors once they close if you wanted to bypass taking the elevator back up. I've stayed here 5 times. The first 2 times the staff was excellent, but since then has gradually gone downhill to the point they're just rude and seemed bothered by guests.

The room AC is a window unit. It is replacing the unit in the room doesn't seem to be functional. The blackout curtains have duct tape repairs. The room smells musty. The price suggests that this hotel is upscale. Seems like there is an opportunity to "sharpen the saw" as Stephen Covey would recommend.

Fantastic stay and this wonderful boutique hotel. The general manager checked me in and was super friendly and helpful and he gave me a free upgrade to a two-level suite because of my Marriott membership status, what a wonderful room. The hotel has nice touches like exposed brick and has photos of the interesting history of the location as a former department store and hardware store, etc. The hotel is not run down at all as a previous reviewer mentioned, my room was spotless and up-to-date. The hotel is in great spot right on main Street with fantastic restaurants nearby and a roaster coffee shop four doors down and another marvelous organic coffee roaster on nearby Emerald Street. The Fairfield inn has a good included breakfast and also is attached to a good restaurant next door. Can't wait to visit Keene again and I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great room overlooking Main Street. Not your cookie-cutter Fairfield Inn...this has been built into a historical building and was such a nice surprise. Parking is a bit wonky but worth the location. Not sure why the Marriott properties are still not reinstating housekeeping. They responded nicely when service was requested and room was refreshed and towels replaced. Breakfast consisted of prepared and/or ready to eat items- enough to start the day. Overall, a good choice and I will stay here again when I return for future classes at Harrisville Mill.

Really pretty hotel, but if you expect quiet rooms that are like new, this isn't it. You can easily hear voices through the walls and the TV next door. We had different neighbors each night and we could hear everything, babies crying, dogs barking, a party going on, kids running up and down steps and a TV blasting at 2am. The curtains are falling down and can't close all the way, the bed is really uncomfortable and the mattress topper doesn't help. Parking is quite far away and no carts are offered. The breakfast is premade jimmy deans and the usual muffins etc from packaging. The elevator is the absolute slowest. For the price you may it is kinda surreal how poor the property is.Walkability: Downtown access and easy to walk to many stores.

Overall, highly recommend this very nice property in lovely downtown Keene. Excellent service by Michael who was super kind and professional-he not only ensured my stay was a memorable one, he loaned me a charger. The suite was nice, with Keurig, two bathrooms(!) and nice decor. I did find the mattress to be a bit too firm and the air conditioning a bit too loud. The bedroom can also be improved with a chair. Breakfast room and choices were good.

The hotel was wonderful, until we pulled back out sheets to go to bed and found blood all over the sheets. I went to the front desk and was informed that the hotel was booked full and the best they could do was give us clean sheets (that I had to change myself). No refund offered at all, which is insane as this is a health code violation. I’ll never stay here again

UPDATED FROM 5 STAR TO 1 STAR. SEE UPDATE: Quirky art deco style hotel conversion, possibly an old bank or store, in a quirky town. Expect flaws. Rooms are comfortable and clean. In fact fixtures, carpeting, furniture was a little on the higher end. Understand this building is probably 100+ years old. So if a creaky floor is what you call run down, I wouldn’t stay here. If you call it charm, this is your spot. Not your usual Marriott. Personally thought it was fantastic. UPDATE: unfortunately I spoke too soon. Breakfast buffet is guarded. Of course I do not know what I want, hence the reason it’s a Buffet. I am presuming it is for my safety, yet there is no mask mandate at this hotel, the tables are 3 feet apart in the room they are serving breakfast, and the person guarding the breakfast is not wearing a mask. Also the coffee section is not guarded. I do not want to lean over the counter and try to figure out what they have for breakfast. Will not be returning to this hotel.

Only needed a room for overnight. Was in Keene, NH at the time, visiting family. Our room was very clean, loved the huge space of the room. Bed was made very well, was very comfortable. Employees were very nice. Wasn't to hard to find our room. Would enjoy staying here again, if the opportunity arises. The whole hotel looked very clean as well. Not in a noisy neighborhood.

The design of the building is a little odd, the access points to the stairways don't really permit you to go up, and the elevator is ridiculously slow. Also, like some other reviewers, I experienced some HVAC issues. I stayed for four nights. The first three, the room was very cold, despite setting the AC at 71. This from a guy that sets his bedroom AC at home at 64. The last night, the AC didn't work at all and the room was disappointingly warm. I mentioned this at checkout the next morning and the staff said they had some issues with other rooms as well. No offer was made to adjust my bill, and I didn't push the issue.Aside from those issues, it's a great spot. The decor in the rooms is modern and yet historical, the staff is great and the prices are very reasonable if you call them directly. I had zero concerns about the cleanliness of the room. Most importantly, the location is perfect. Walk out the front door and you're on Main Street. Within a couple blocks, there are a bunch of bars, restaurants and at least one brewery. For that reason alone, I won't stay anywhere else in Keene.

Great stay. Hotels.com overbooked us here but the woman at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful. They happened to get a cancellation while I was there and she gave it to me at a discount. The room was also way nicer than most chain hotels, with wainscotting and nice trim - it felt like some effort had gone into a renovation. It's also right on the main strip of keene which was a pleasant surprise, so you can walk to everything. We loved our stay here.

Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! We are seasoned travelers who know how average a Fairfield can be, however we were basically blown away by the kindness of the staff, and beautiful building. If you think this is your normal Fairfield, think again, especially for a holiday to Keene/surrounding areas, or even for anything else - much better than the Courtyard across the way.

Stayed in a lower level room, below ground level. It was dark and dank and very dirty! We had to ask for new bed linens as the ones on the bed were stained with either food or blood (couldn't tell). The bathroom was dirty. Tub had hair in it. The floor had debris (an unopened tampon) on it. The desk chair had so much dust and dirt on it- clearly not cleaned, maybe ever. Overall terrible room experience. The stay was not cheap ($600) and we will not be back. We stay in Keene every few months to visit our son and will most definitely pick another spot.

Spent one night here and had a great experience. The room is spacious, clean and well-maintained. We had a main street view on the second floor and it wasn’t noisy at all. Breakfast was decent and served in a Covid friendly manner with an employee serving you. Parking behind the hotel in the garage is convenient and easy. Looking forward to our next stay.

Stayed here three days - the staff at this hotel would get more than 5 stars if I could give it. The general manager is easily the friendliest, most professional I’ve ever met, better than 5-star hotels I’ve stayed at. The hotel itself is very unique as a part of the historic downtown, and I found it adequate. One critique is that it could be cleaner in the common areas, but it wasn’t awful. Bravo on the great experience provided Tucker!

Overall the room looked nice. The bathroom was not as clean as it should be. Woke up in the morning with the sun shining to see dust all over the bureau. The breakfast was subpar. Frozen breakfast sandwiches that were microwaved and placed in heat tray. Took a bite and frozen in middle. Prepackaged muffins, no fruit, bananas, oranges or apples? There were scrambled eggs and bacon that was just heated. There was gluten-free cereal which my cousin enjoyed.Staff at front desk were friendly and the location is great. The parking is ok, but hard since u have to cross a parking lot and head up a flight of stairs, outside to get to ur car.

Stayed here multiple times. Always a good time. Everyone at the front desk is warm and friendly. Any issues we have are taken care of right away and always made right. Location is in walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Would highly recommend. Stayed again recently. Breakfast is now fully self serve. Still love this placeWalkability: 5 minutes walking distance to almost every bar or restaurant or shop

Front desk staff is actually hidden. The manager who was also the check in staff sat in a room hidden away from anyone who may need assistance... Even checking in!The manager was not flexible with handling families. My brother in law waited 20+ minutes for check in. Request for adjoining rooms weeks in advance was ignored and when it was discussed with staff that night and agreed to accommodate in the morning then the manager refused to make the adjustments. Not a handicap friendly hotel. The breakfast was prepackaged food for the most part. The best part of the hotel was the so very friendly hostess of the breakfast! She should run the hotel.Fairfield and Marriot should reconsider having thier names associated with this location. (But hire the breakfast hostess to run one of your other locations)I have stayed at 1 star locations in countries in Asia that I would rather return to than this hotel. The rooms were never cleaned during our stay. The coffee packets were never replenished. No one ever asked us how our stay was going out of we needed anything. We had many family members staying at this hotel and the sister hotel across the parking lot. No-one staying at this hotel was happy with the service or hotel. (The sister location was everything expected of a Marriott property.)
