I went in on a recent Sunday late afternoon. There were the expected few cars in the parking lot so the store should not have been crowded. Quickly picked up my dozen items and headed to the checkout. I was 3rd in line at the only open cash register. The line at the self checkout was at least 10 people deep and growing. I stood and waited for at least 20 minutes before I got to unload my cart. By the time I got there, my line had 13 people in it. Then I saw why . . . The poor lady running the cash register was having to run back and forth solving issues with the self-checkout and then back to our register. And she was very obviously 6+ months pregnant. She told me there were only 3 people working in the whole store!To the management - Get your act together! Don’t treat your employees or the customers like this. This is unacceptable! My family generally avoids Shaw’s because of the high prices and poor selection, but this confirms that you clearly don’t know how to run a grocery store. We will not be back ever.

All there is around here. Not much variety. Any other markets are 25 miles away. Shaws is about it for Hillsboro Co. and Monadnock region. Must be hard for family of 4.

I have no choice but to shop here as it's the only show in town but I must say you can never find anything and all the employees seem to want to be somewhere else! So they said they remodeled however all they did was rearrange some items. And its the same people

Way overpriced because they know the next closest grocery store is 30 minutes in any direction. Produce is over-ripe and soggy. And the bathrooms are disgusting. (Feces on the floor)

I can't believe how bad my transaction was today. Stood behind 3 people in the express lane for almost 8 minutes before even being able to put my stuff down. The cashier Michael was working so incredibly slowly, while stopping in between items to awkwardly hit on the girl bagging groceries, commenting over and over if she "was even old enough to handle the items". I get being a cashier isn't fun, but at least pretend to care slightly about your job. The slowest worker there is running the express lane, what a bad decision. Other workers here are great and helpful. Worst experience I've had yet. If you need to be high, maybe don't go to work. Will be driving to Concord from now on to hit up market basket.

Worst meat dept ever ! I shop at 4 other grocery stores and meat is fresh . Still no change in store shelves empty on weekends and u spend $300 in groceries and have to bag them yourself . Store manager sucks and HR dept needs to do better !

Many of these reviews have similar gripes, namely that everything is overpriced (accurate), the quality of produce varies immensely (also accurate), and that the cashiers are unprofessional (I get it, but they're mostly teenagers, after all). The one complaint I'm surprised to not see more of in these reviews are the "sale items." In the five years I've shopped here, I would guess that of all of the items I've purchased that had a sale tag in front of it in-store, only about 25% have actually been on sale when I've checked out. I'm not talking about a single anomaly or two here, where it's plausible that someone forgot to take down a single sign at the end of a sale--this is a pervasive, long-standing problem. This is incredibly misleading and manipulative to customers. Look at your receipts!! You're probably not getting the sales that you think you are.For context, I live 5 minutes (or less) from this Shaws, but I've started driving 30m to either one of the local(ish) Market Baskets and have easily cut my grocery bill in HALF (including the price of gas to get there, and I drive a truck). Is it convenient? No, of course not, but I know I'm far more likely to be paying the advertised price for my groceries if I go literally anywhere other than Shaws.

This is without a doubt THE WORST Shaws on the planet! The ENTIRE store is re-arranged by the day it seems. Looking for coffee? Try the meat dept! This "manager" couldn't manage a subscription never mind a 10,000sq ft store!! Maybe he can be put on cart detail until he's proven he can manage those . Although as I write I can picture the cart corral in the Sylvania parking lot already!! Good luck if you are going to this one , I'm done aggravating myself. Need moldy bread ? This is the place for you! :) The one star is only because they wont let me post without it!!!!!!!!!!!!Udate , I should have mentioned in the original post that although this may just be the worst Shaws ever , they do have GREAT employees that are courteous and care about their presentations. Along with that update I might add the mens room is ALWAYS disgusting , like no one has hit the urinal or cleaned around it in the ladt year or so .....the stench actually makes it out into the hallway. So in all if you like playing Easter looking for that item you know exactly where it ......WAS! and don't mind peeing in a bathroom that more appears to be a porta-potty at a concert this is the dump for you!

Perhaps the worst Shaws in history. Not only over priced like all Shaws supermarkets however this specific one never has anything in stock, most younger cashiers not worth the ink their checks are printed on unless you don’t mind watching your cashier take a selfie over bagging your groceries lol yup typically bagging your own stuff. Produce is terrible and this has been the case for the last 18 years of being forced to stop here when need something quickly and as for the app sales lol hardly ever works. Really wish this town would let a real grocery store in so those of us who have ate this bad pill for 2 decades could have a choice. Yes I will continue stopping here when needed however will never willingly give this Shaws buisness if I can avoid!

The produce section is not good I have had food most times go bad within one to two days after I buy it. so I don't know how long they keep it in the shelves. Everything else is ok, expensive though.

Overpriced. There are over 18, 000 people living in a 5 mile radius of the shaws in Hillsboro, NH. Only 10%of them shop there. The remaining 90% shop at the market basket in Warner, NH and Concord, NH.My response to the owner's reply...The digital coupon offers are a joke. They are difficult to use and don't always work. Also, the digital products aren't advertised. Do yourself a favor and just shop elsewhere... Where you don't have to jump through hoops to get the advertised deal...market basket is a much better shopping choice!

Honestly I shop here all the time. Only cause I have to. The employees are always nice but they are way over priced for awful quality. Specially in the produce. Things don't always get rotated if at all and I have bought many items outdated. I have learned my lesson to always check the date.

I like Shaw’s, it’s clean, the workers are nice. My problem is this, you can not access their mobile account and if you get on their WiFi you might get a little more of a chance. So today, while shopping I see pizza is on special, go to the mobile app to clip coupon, nope, can’t get to it, now in line and talking to the cashier, he tells me that even if I clip the coupon in store it doesn’t work, wait…WHAT?!?! That is deceiving the public, where is this written in the flyer??? How many people have lost most due to this deceiving practice. I am slightly put off. I don’t think this is right!! Check your receipts!!

If you want to get more for your dollar watch the sales plus use the shaws app which has coupons you clip online then you enter your phone number and all the coupons will be used on your order at the register. I think that is a great concept you never forget the coupons at home. Plus you get free items sometimes or extra money off you order depending on coupons available.

Great store. I love their watermelons because they are not the little cannon ball melons I find in all the other stores. Prices are about the same as I pay in New York. Their new self checkouts are the most anxious part of the visit. I don't even try to bag while checking out. I just drop stuff in the bagging area and put it in my bags after.

The prices are SKY HIGH here as they take advantage of the fact that there are no other grocery stores in town. I would recommend driving 20 minutes or the Warner market basket to get twice the amount of items for 3/4 of the price.

I went to Shaws for a few items and was very pleased as always. The store is great but can be a bit pricey so you have to look for the deals. Great meats and produce. You can't go wrong. Thanks for being there.

I always shop the sales, so prices here are good, and comparable to the other grocery stores (and they use the same sales flyers that Concord does, so I'm not sure why others think the prices are higher here). If you don't pay attention to sales, you pay more, but that's how it is for all stores.I always check my receipt because it is often the case they over charge for something, though I think it has been better the last year or two.

Very over priced, at least 10-20% over Market Basket in Concord and a minimum 10% across the board over Price Chopper on Keene NH. The quality compared to the other two, is inferior when compared to the prices: average if you leave the price out. 9.99 lb bacon, 80/20 burger 4.49I guess if you want to join "The Club" and use coupons the prices do come down. Sadly it hasn't changed. I am baffled how a grocery store can do this yet the competition can offer the same quality (in many cases better) charge less and still pay employees more!

Unfortunately this is the only Grocery store in town "it'd be A Godsend if we could get another to bring down the prices" this could be a great store if it wasn't all a few more bucks to buy even a gallon of milk or a pint of Ice cream, they put these sale prices on things like it should be some "Big Deal" but really the sale price is still more than the normal price for many other stores!Yes Some may say they have better quality products but that's only sometimes and Usually those times it's about equal to the other stores but a ShatLoad More $$$

This store is largely staffed by walking brain dead. I went there looking for a particular product. I spoke to a young man in the neat department with red hair. He made an honest effort to find it and I thank him for it. He was the only one in two trips that went out of their way to do so. He then took me to the heavy set young lady who was the evening manager. She claimed she looked it up. Oh, we don't carry it! Where would it be if you had it? Oh, Isle XX. I looked there and it could not be found. I tried Isle XXX as one more place on my own and found it. I had gone there once before and asked at the register at check out it they had the item? The three teens goofing and yaking, said what's that? I explained it to them. Oh we don't carry that! They were closer to The three stooges that the three super market clerks. I will go to Market Basket next time. It is a few more miles but cheaper and the employees are better motivated to see that you get what you came to their store to buy! SInce AB Acquisition LLC, acquired Shaw's from SUPERVALU, they have only gone way down hill and prices have gone way up!

Don't mind the store over all. Got a couple things recently that I almost returned dried out chicken from their roasted chicken. their prices probably the highest of all the stores. What just happened did it!! Didn't have their app. Yet because I just moved & the manager said she couldn't give me a number for the deals. I'm sure I won't be there often anymore!!
