Diner in the center of Hanover featuring both counter seating and tables. We came as a party of four on Sunday at lunchtime. The place was full and there was a long line of people waiting. I don’t believe they can take a party larger than five. There is street parking out front if you can get it, and parking lots nearby. Staff is friendly and helpful.Dietary restrictions: There are a couple gluten and dairy free options.

This place is the cutest little diner in Hanover. It’s like a blast from the past with all the pics and booths and low bar seats. The food was delicious (chicken and waffles!!) and service was great (considering Sunday brunch rush). The pies that we came to pick up, unfortunately, were just average tasting. We’ll def be back to try the other things on the menu.

A lovely small town diner that was extremely busy. The food came out fresh and properly cooked considering.I ordered the Steakhouse bowl and everything tasted great. Fresh meat and quinoa hash base. The flavors all came together great. Would definitely recommend the bowl.

As we walked in through the door the friendly host greeted us into the warm environment. All of the food was exceptionally excellent; particularly the pumpkin chocolate muffin. Service was quick and polite, and the old diner feel really put us at home. In review I highly recommend this diner, and hope you have a chance to partake in this work of art.

This restaurant has a great 50's diner charm about it. It's definitely cozy. I had the lox and bagel, and it was fantastic. My SIL had the acai bowl and said it was very tasty. The only disappointment was my daughter's biscuits and gravy, though it was more of not what she's used to rather than not good. Decent coffee, and they offered to-go lids. The restaurant is in the midst of renovations, so they didn't have a full menu, but they were as accommodating as possible.Vegetarian options: There were lots of vegetarian options, and the restaurant was willing to alter options to be vegetarian. They had oat milk available in place of half and half for my coffee.Parking: The only parking available was paid street parking.

Sit at the BAR! You get the full experience plus more. The french cruller grench toast is a must,, bacon nice and crispy and the service is outstanding. What a gem we found. Make sure you take a pastry to go! Lets Go!!

I came here with a Group of 9 people two days in a row, thats how good this place is. We all came from different states andwe all felt this place is amazing! The staff were really nice and friendly. You will love everything on the menu. I had biscuits n gravy the first visit and the 2nd visit. Four other people wanted to try it after I gave high praises and they all loved it too. 😁👌 And the Key Lime pie was the best I ever had!... This place deserves national TV recognition! A New England Top 10 break/lunch dive-in for sure!

In my view, the best place to have breakfast or brunch in the area. The tofu scramble is excellent and flavorful. The acai bowl is a large portion with nice sides. The cakes are best I've tried. Rich, not overly sweet, and decent portion.Vegetarian options: Decent variety of options including eggs, tofu, fruit bowls, and others.

It’s the best. I expected the diner food I remembered - which was there, but there were also a ton of other really delicious options like an Açaí bowl and the best turkey sandwich I’d had in forever. The experience and ambiance is great, the staff are SO kind (even when I bring my kids in), and everything about Lou’s these days is just awesome.Kid-friendliness: They give your kids WikiStix and make it so easy to dine in with them. Thanks for understanding, Lou’s team!!

Slow and saltyWent on a Sunday morning so not expecting to be seated immediately. Pleasantly surprised to get a table within 5 minutes. If you are a fan of Crime in Sports, that was grace because it went down hill from there. Our order was pretty basic - 2x of the “signature” corn beef hash and a big green and two coffees. If you are a breakfast place, I’m going to judge you on your coffee. Theirs was slow arriving and not that great. Actually, in hindsight the coffee came lightening fast compared to the rest of the food.25 minutes after ordering our food came. It was cold, burned and salty. Not a good combination.Maybe it was just a bad day but since both orders of hash were the same saltiness, I’m guessing it was normal.Added note - they had tables open for social distancing which is admirable.. but then they crammed three tables into a corner. What are you thinking?Do better Lou

Excellent food. Great service. So many choices! Look at the menu before you go. Definitely will return on all trips to Dartmouth! Just remember if you go at a” normal” eating time, there WILL be a wait.July 31, 2022So happy to be back at Lou’s. Arrived just after 10:30am on a Sunday. Was told there would be a 45 minute wait, but it was actually 37 minutes. 👍🏻Food delicious as always and decent portions to fill you up. I tried the Cowboy Bowl. Very good. Both my companions had the brisket hash. Both finished everything on their plates. Service was great - thank you, Andrew. Attentive and kept us informed of when our meal would be ready. Kept our drinks topped. Love Lou’s!By the way, tables started opening up around noon. No waiting!

Had breakfast here on 5 of the last 10 days during two visits. I always got an omelette, home fries, sourdough toast, and lots of coffee. There’s just something about Lou’s. The staff is outstanding, the food’s always delicious, and the atmosphere is a throwback to a simpler time that is hard to find anymore. I love Lou’s and always look forward to my next visit.

The servers and staff are all really nice but SUPER slow. The pace here in New Hampshire is A LOT slower than in Boston.Food was decent but did not meet expectations with all the good reviews. It didn't blow me away and the portions were small considering the price.Omelette with veggies was thick and cooked very well. But was slightly small.Salmon Benedict with homefries was interesting - no hollandaise sauce. Eggs were super small and lacked flavor. Salmon was cooked into a hash which was interesting and it tasted interesting too...very salty and it wasn't bad but I probably wouldn't get it again. The blueberry muffins and cranberry orange muffins were standard and seemed like they were bought from the store vs. baked freshly at the restaurant. But they were warm to touch when presented.Definitely do the to-go option if you in a hurry. But the place is super cute.

VERY EXPENSIVE.Very poor food quality, the home fries are the tiny cubed frozen potatoes, cooked beyond recognition. The were dried up and crunched like a potato chip. I specifically asked the waitress before hand, and she assured me they were fresh cut up potatoes. The eggs are small, Not large. And the waitress was VERY innattentive , and not very accommodating. The cups were dirty. The chairs were sticky. The portions were small. We will not go here again.**update**edit dear manager that responded to my post, I would have certainly have mentioned it to the waitress had she paid any attention to us at all. She sat us down, plunked coffee in front of us and didn't bring any cream or sugar for 5 minutes, and we asked somebody else for it before she came. While she was taking our order she was completely distracted talking to other people that were coming through, and not about seating, but other greetings. She did actually put down on the slip how I wanted my eggs cooked, and then the kitchen did not cook them that way. And she was very very unknowledgable about your menu.I see you on here defending yourself to everybody that leaves an honest review. Instead of getting defensive perhaps you should actually listen to the reviews that the people are giving you. It would probably help you a lot. I have been a cook for over 25 years and I know all about prices. And I know when people are gouging people for money. And I also know what a Good Waitress is like. So I'm sorry if you don't want to accept these honest reviews from everyone, you will never improve yourself and you will never stop getting these low rated reviews until you address the problems that people are talking about.

Wonderful breakfast/brunch place which is famous with the Hanover locals. Amazing fare, great wait staff, and a cozy dining atmosphere. Didn't get any this time, but the pies looked "to die for."Parking: Campus town location. Street parking spaces can be difficult to find during peak times.
