Comparatively prices little high. But helpful staff and convenient location keeps me going back. Also I prefer to support local businesses. They usually have everything I am looking for. Staff is eager to help customers. When your in the middle of a project and need something quick they are good at helping soon as you walk in the door.

This place is Awesome! Especially Mac, helped me order a door. He explained all the parts and pieces and helped me to build the door within my budget. Where else would you get that type of customer support - no where! Also have the straightest and driest lumber around.

The major difference that separates East Coast Lumber from the others, that is the orange place or the blue place, is that I can see people working. Probably more than both combined at any given time. Walk into the plumbing section, someone will ask if you need anything. If you need tint wood with advice or an idea, someone has it or can direct you to the person that does. One such example is a amazingly friendly gentleman gave me great advice on a technique to tint wood with spray paint...he even brought an example in with him that he showed me the next time I had gone in.The workers are also helpful in other ways one does not find in a corporate box store, my wife will buy salt for our home. Six 40 pound bags at a time. Someone will happily load it into her vehicle for her.The prices are within range of those stores for equal quality prices so I do not feel I am paying more for this great service.

The staff in the yard as well as inside the building are always pleasant to deal with. Some of the guys in the yard could use some guidance, lots of standing around and a couple of them I’ve had to deal with don’t know their products! Usually easy and easy out, most know their job and do it well!

Excellent customer service!! Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was helpful, courteous, kind. I even asked the manager for a helping hand in allowing me to borrow a few tools, and without hesitation he took the time to lend them to me. I drive an 18 wheeler, and was politely allowed to park in the back of the property for a morning delivery at this location. I'm very impressed at the location's cleanliness and everyone's professional appearance.

Corinne, the saleswoman, at the lumber desk was unhelpful, rude, and impatient. She was unable to locate 2x12x8’ boards that we had previously bought. We gave her every single detail including the date to find the order and she couldn’t find it. She tried to sell us wood that cost 3 times as much as when we bought it 2 months ago. She eventually gave up on finding the boards and told us to go into the yard ourselves to find it. Luckily, I remembered exactly where they were and the workers in the lumberyard were extremely helpful. When we went back to pay, Corinne said “oh just regular 2x12 footers?” yes!!! Exactly what we had been asking for the whole time!!!!I highly recommend the quality of wood and workers in the lumberyard; however, I would avoid Corinne when purchasing to avoid angry glares and rudeness.

Welcome difference from the big box stores where it's very hard to get the right location for a product and forget any advice for your project. Quality and selection are great. Prices fair. I highly recommend going here for the vast majority of your building needs

East Coast Lumber is More than just Great Lumber/Building products.. They carry Everything from packaged Firewood to Silky Saws to Any hand tools, power tools , Man Lifts, Lawn Mowers to purchase or Rent. Their Tool Rental is the absolute Best on the whole East Coast. Thanks to Dan Rogers , manager at their Rental Division, IF Danny doesn't have it, you don't need it. Go check them out. & check out Mack in Doors/Windows for the best products and Service around. East Coast wouldn't be complete without Ed Sanguedolce running the yard, unloading dozens of trucks daily and keeping all their Products Organized so no material warps, twists etc like You get at other Lumber yards. Eddie keeps that place the Best I've ever seen it after going there for more than 37 + years. IF you desire a special type of Trim or Framing Lumber, I've witnessed Ed tell us exactly how many feet he has in stock, all from memory ; now that's an Team Player who loves his job & is well worth keeping around. I Applaud All the Team Members at East Coast Lumber for making it an exciting trip to go on,,, unlike a boring trip to Hardware/Lumber stores in other areas. ECL is #1 on the East Coast by far !!

This is my go to hardware store. I live in Haverhill but I drive to East Coast Lumber at least once a week. I also use the rental location across the parking lot at least twice per year. This place has a good selection and I can usually get help when I need it. So much better than Cyr Lumber

They are great for common home repairs, but I would not look to them for specialty items unless you order ahead. I have had one issue with a rental not being available, but only one. I suspect that this is true anywhere. The staff has hit or miss expertise depending on when you go, but again I expect this is true anywhere.

Continue to be utterly impressed with the staff at East Coast Rentals. Nolan did an excellent job selling me a new saw. Not even so much the same as I already knew what I wanted, but the proper way to sharpen abs appropriate tool, and a good education on why the seemingly way overpriced premix can save a lot of headaches down the road. Jason is also extremely experienced and knowledgeable as well. East Coast is lucky to have good people like this working there because they are the reason I keep coming back to buy good quality yard toys ;-)

The counter help is always helpful and well informed. The yard guys are fantastic. They help you load up your truck or trailer and make sure you get what you need. Recently purchased insulation and saved $200 over the box store.
