Dave was such a great help! The booking process was pretty easy and he kept us well informed.We went there for New Year' Eve. Our little cabin was so cozy, small but we fit perfectly.TV on both rooms, kitchen fully equiped, heater, coffee and a welcoming treat from Dave.Fantastic!!Near pretty much everything you'll want to visit in Tahoe: Casinos, restaurants, pub, grocery store, Gondola, all very reachable by a couple minutes walk.Unfortunately (for me) there was no snow but Tahoe is always a beautiful place to be...We'll be back soon, I hope :)Rooms: Cozy, wood rooms. Wow, what a little GEM this place is! My daughter and I came with our pups to have some fun in the snow, and booked at Doc’s at the last minute! David helped us get one of the last cabins available (#5, so cute!), and we couldn’t have asked for better! The cottages are right next to all the fun, walking distance from Heavenly, the casinos, restaurants, and the Lake! The cottage has a parking space out front too so you don’t have to bother trying to park at the resorts. Just walk everywhere and save yourself the trouble!The cottage was clean and well-stocked, and had the cutest little decorations all around (the bear lampshade and the moose light!)—really makes you feel like you’re at home, and not a boring cookie-cutter hotel! Super Tahoe-esque!David was a great help for booking and communicating, and the owner Lloyd was so welcoming! This place is special, and you can tell these guys really care about keeping this place unique. Book here, you’ll enjoy every minute of it!Thanks guys!

Dave made it super easy to book and check it. it was a very simple process we had our kiddos with us and it was great it felt homey, clean and had every thing we needed. The heat was on when we got there and it was amazing specially being at the snow all day. We totally watched a movie and had some hot coco. It is honestly a hidden GEM! super close to everything which was wonderful! Haven’t was legit walking distance (NEXT DOOR) it was central to so much we love it! we had a pleasant stay, i definitely recommend giving it a try and our family will be back.! Thank you Dave!

Perfect location and homey feel. Great home base for a ski trip to Heavenly (or Kirkwood, if you're willing to make the ~1 hour trip).Dave was particularly awesome -- I caught the flu the day before our original stay. Dave was generous in letting us shift our trip 2 weeks forward, even though this was basically at the last second. This sort of willingness to help his guests make it work gives me a lot of trust, as a customer. I'll be back.Thanks Dave!

Doc's is one of a kind! It fell for a bit under terrible management but the Watsons have taken back full control and these cottages are now what they once were! Amazing! It is so nice to know that Angie's daughter has taken over completely as of recent. I'm very glad in this case as this is one of my favorite places to stay! Welcome back Doc's!

Great location - walking distance to Heavenly Gondola and South Lake Tahoe shops and restaurants. Can park the car right in front of your cottage door - a lot of privacy. Very clean rooms. Excellent customer service. Fully equipped kitchenettes. Perfect for skiing getaways - can cook breakfast by yourself, walk to the gondola and hit the slopes right in the morning.

loved our 5 day stay, built in 1928 and still a great place to stay. close to everything and pet friendly. cute cabins and within walking distance of the beach. the private deck and barbecue was great. cabin #2 was perfect

Wonderful customer service. They are so friendly. Studios had their own kitchenettes, super helpful when food is closed around a lot of tahoe and longer trips to cut down on spending. Everything worked perfectly, the location is amazing. Actual decent prices. Only recommendation would be to replace the mattress in the largest studio, it's quite rough on the back. Thanks again for an amazing stay!!! We will be back.

My family and I really enjoyed staying here. It was clean and smelt good. We had a place to BBQ and kick back by the fire pit. It has a kitchen which was great to cook breakfast in the morning with a full furnished pots, pans and dishes. The owners were very friendly and showed great hospitality. We will definitely be back.

NO ACCESS TO A PRIVATE BEACH OR ANY OTHER BEACH.When I inquired I was told it had not been available for over two years. Yet their own website clearly says there is access to private beach, within walking distance. NOPE!!!When I emailed and inquired I never rec’d a responseCabins were as expected otherwise. I would have given a better review if I didn’t feel they were being intentionally dishonest.Access to a private beach within Walking distance was the primary reason we picked this property..!!!To the owners…update your website so that the information and amenities is actually factually accurate.

This place has a massive spider problem. My wife and I stayed here for 3 days, and we had to kill 3 spiders, saw 2 more already dead. Spider webs all over the lights. Everything else was fine, the location is actually great right next to the village and a couple great restaurants, but seeing that many spiders in 3 days is unacceptable. I tried getting ahold of the management multiple times on the phone, and either the phone number they provided doesn't work or they flat just didn't answer. I'm pretty disappointed. So much potential for what it is and where the location is.

Doc's Cottages is the hidden gem of South Lake Tahoe. From the warm cozy feel of the cottage to the excellent hospitality of the owners and staff. Doc's is like home away from home. No matter the time of year you visit everything is in walking distance. All food and entertainment are steps away. the lake and the slopes are so close you can Almont touch them. I highly recommend Doc's Cottages for your next or even your first visit to South Lake Tahoe. Enjoy.

My fiancee and I found this little gem when we walked by on our last trip to south lake! Wonderful location and they have kitchens and all utensils! Loyd and his wife angie(the owners) are very welcoming! Reasonable rates and the beach is two blocks away! Everything else is also a very very short distance to walk! Will definitely be back and definitely will recommend to anyone!

We checked in and met directly with the lovely owners, who walked us to our cabin and told us everything we needed to know about our stay and where to get the best food! Best hidden secret in South Lake Tahoe EVER!! Close to the Casino's, dog friendly, individual cottages, next to the concert venue, access to private beach and inexpensive - yep you can't beat this!Clean, cozy, and perfect size with a kitchenette - we were elated with our accommodations and the owners are just the most amazing couple EVER!We will definitely be back, thank you for a wonderful getaway!

The cottage is great! A little bit Spartan but we'll organized. Not fully clean... The position is a little bit far from the beach and during our staying the beach pass was not paid so to use the public beach we would have spent something around 40$...too much when all the other hotels guests have the pass and can enjoy the beach and the lake. They weren't flexible and kind when we had a trouble and a week before our booking we asked them to reschedule a month forward...we had to move from one house to another. The overall experience is good but I don't know if I would come back.

There were so many things I loved about the cottages. We went to Tahoe to get married, myself, my husband and all my wedding party stayed at the cottages and had such a great time, there were so many of us so we practically had the place to ourselves so were the only ones who used the fire pit, bbq, patio, we had a blast! If you stay here bring food for bbq and sandwiches you could save lots of money! You will not be disappointed staying here especially if you rent at least 4-5 cottages at one time.

I stayed in this property many times and would not stay anywhere else in South Lake Tahoe. I love the cabins, love pine paneling inside, love the location--very close to the Lake--love owners, who are super-friendly, nice people, the kind of people you want to keep in touch with. Apparently, the property used to be a regular vacation spot for Clark Gable!! I think there's a reason for it because there's a lot of charm about these cottages. I had wonderful stays in South Lake Tahoe thanks to the owners of Docs. Another thing I love is that upon request they don't use chemicals to clean the cottage before I arrive--absolutely can't beat this, this is number one vacation rental for me!

Im staying here now and the people who own docs cottages are so nice! Their hospitality is wonderful. Our cottage was super clean and tidy, everything we needed. They even had extra things like bandaids in the office. This was our first time in tahoe and we loved it. We will definitely be staying here again and will recommend to anyone

My husband booked this place for our anniversary based on the positive online reviews. The interior had been remodeled and was nicely done. They did not bother to put new mattresses in when they remodeled though and that's a bad thing to skimp on. It's not a nice hotel; those are up the street and priced similarly. We WAY overpaid for this place. The room did not have a chain on it and when a guy (presumably drunk) came to our door at 2 am and wouldn't stop trying to get in, it was scary to me. After I screamed that I was going to call the cops the third time he tried to get in, he finally left. No AC and that was fine for us temp wise but it was loud with all the foot traffic and activity, plus the cabins are on top of each other so the open windows meant everyone heard everything. I think it would benefit the ownership to invest in sprucing up their main office too as it gives a shabby first impression. Not at all worth the price.

We were in Lake Tahoe for my dads 60th surprise bday party and these cottages were AMAZING and right up the road from the lake front! So much room, comfortable beds, mounted flat screen tvs, dressers etc. Only thing it didnt have was a washer and dryer but other than that, it was like a mini apartment. It was a perfect home away from home and the hospitality provided by Loyd and Angie was great...very nice people.
