My recent visit to Petco at Northtowne Ln was unexpectedly delightful. The pricing, upon closer inspection, reflected the quality and variety of items available, providing value that's hard to find elsewhere, especially for specialized pet products.The staff added to the positive atmosphere with a laid-back approach, allowing customers to browse at their own pace, which I found refreshing. Lorraine is THE BEST, hands down with her incredible knowledge of canines and parrots! If you need the best of the best & care about your family furs babies etc. as much as we do,I highly recommend you speak to her for any serious inquiries about your precious babes health and overall wellness. She has many years experience and is super friendly. I am by far impressed with “Petco” finally having an amazing human on board that cares as much as we do! Thank you Petco for having Lorraine at this easy/ close to home location to where we can pick up all our Petco “ needs!! Blessing all 🙏🏼🐾 🐱🐕

Normally, I don't give a bad review but this store has one horrible person.My husband and I just got a new puppy. We went in the store to purchase a few high dollar items. A gate, crate, and other necessities for our new puppy. We also were looking at getting our puppy spayed.While we had just entered, I had to use the restroom but the doors were locked. I went to the register counter and asked this older woman that worked there and asked if there was a key to the woman's restroom. She said that it was out of order. I then asked if the men's was available. She said both out of order. My husband and I continued to shop but I really had to go to the restroom so I was going to go to another store. I asked another employee about the restroom and she said that she will unlock the restroom.Upon leaving the store, I ran across the older lady around her 60's and thanked her for lying about the restrooms being out of order. She responded with your welcome. This women should not be employed with her personality. If this was my business, I'd fire her. Horrible customer service.I will not shop at this store ever! I did shop here a lot when I had another pet .

Been shopping here for years. The last several years has been exceptional. The employees and management are wonderful. They know their stuff and are customer svc oriented. Its really quite nice. I hope corporate notices.

At the moment, I only need crickets, for my cute little Wolf Spooder. 2/20/24 I went to get some, and you were out, with a sign saying there were issues... the cricket tank, stank of death. I like the people there, but the live crickets need more care and attention.

We buy fish and other aquarium pets from here, they have all the common stock. The employees are usually very helpful, but I wouldn't recommend putting the water from Petco tanks into your tank.

The staff at Petco was okay, but not overly helpful or friendly. My problem was with the Vetco staff that rotates to each store to administer pet vaccines. We had a scheduled appointment but these people were unfriendly, abrasive and even rude. They treated us as if we were an interruption. In addition, they wanted to charge $185 for vaccine update.I chose to leave and made an appointment with KLAICH Vet Clinic. They were so friendly, warm and highly professional. Everything Vetco at Petco was not.It was like being in a regular doctor's office. They did a full examination and administered Rabies and Distemper shots for less money!!!! We will definitely use KLAICH for our future pet health needs. It pays to shop around if your pet is important .

Manager (Mike) is a total joke, an will laugh an argue with customers when they call him out on overcharging.He wanted to charge different prices for mystery snails, as he thinks they are inca. I hate to inform you Mike, but calling them by their scientific name doesn't make them more expensive 😂 Decided not to get the snails he wanted to charge 7.99 for (they are clearly listed online an other stores for 2.99 a piece) after he wanted to act like it was funny an smile an laugh in my face. I will took my business to the south Reno location 😉 Steer clear of Petco Northtown! South Reno location is better cared for an polite staff, bought 4 blue for 2.99 a piece (buy 3 get one free).

I came in no one asked if I needed any assistance the store is dirty there wasn't really any dog stuff Like collars,chains, harnesses that arent a weird plastic? there are boxes everywhere in front of isles the back of the store where the dog food is a fire hazard. I gave it a 3 being nice. I had my puppy with me and she wasn't even given a treat. There was an old lady sitting on the floor while her dog was peeing.....

It was horrible. Waited 40 min to get fish. The cashier Lorraine was awful and very rude. This store has gone downhill since the new manager. And the fish lady that quit because of him. She was amazing. This store is horrible now.

We went in to buy treats for our dog. They were in the back and there was a sign buy 1 get one 50% off. We bought 2. Paid, then while I was walking out I noticed that the lady didn't give us the 50% off. I went back in to tell her and she got mad . I told her there was a sign and she said NOPE, NOPE and I said yes, She kept arguing with me and telling me NOPE there are right here (by the front)and not on sale. I told her I got them from the back. She said NOPE! I told her I'd show her and she said"ok but you will have to wait" there were customers waiting. So instead of calling someone to help me or telling the customers that came AFTER me to wait. She says I have to wait. It was her mistake not mine!

This store needs help. Most of the aisles we couldn't get down because of the loads of freight. I understand they might be short staffed, but why fill your aisles? We were there upgrading our hamster cage and we had to move a bunch of stuff just to see the hamster items. This isn't the first time I have been to this store and likely isn't the last. I just wish they were more organized.

Thanks to Dawn at the Northtowne location, I now keep 9 active, happy female bettas. She has an amazing knowledge of these curious, exploring little swimmies and I couldn't be more grateful.If that wasn't enough, the Vital Care Rewards is THE BEST subscription. Literally saves me so much money that I don't think twice about where to shop for supplies.

We love shopping at the Northtowne Petco thanks to Dawn. She has helped us establish a couple healthy and thriving fish tanks, making sure the fish species we pick out will cohabitate well and helping us pick out the best plants and tank decorations. Her vibrant hair matches her personality and passion for pets, she's definitely the person we look for whenever we visit. 5 stars for Petco hiring such a knowledgeable person.

Wouldn't pric match me from Thier own Petco website on salt or an Air pump. Air pump. Was online at Petco website for $5.13 on shelf price 19.99. salt was 13$ online price for the same store 5.83. n Ed a manager and complained about me price marching and said I was holding up th live until she incit d th customers the tell me to leave them wouldn't price match said I was yelling at her I wasn't I recorded th exchange. Andy children were withe the cashier was extremely rude , unknowledgeable and unreasonable. 90% of this store has the wrong price compared to the website. Deceptive business practices . Lawyer time.

Stopped by for some gum drops for my fish. Ran into Dawn. She helped me go through all the fish. Super fish knowable. Walked me through all the tanks. Brought home 2 new fish. Tank is happy with new friends.

I've been going to the store for a few years and they have a reward program that have yet to date able to use even though I buy four and even five bags of dog food a month. I just wanted to add their prices continue to go up and their reward programs continue to get worse now if I can just find my dog food in a different store I'd be out of here! I just wanted to update this and let you know. I did find out another place to buy my food. And I will be buying it there from how on. It is called Green's Feed.

I’ve never seen a Petco so well taken care of, I’ve never had to question the animals care or share concerns. This location takes the animals care super seriously and you can tell. Also staff is super helpful and friendly. Everyone needs a raise

5 stars for the aquatics department alone, as of September and October of 2023. The lady with the bright blue eye shadow(wish I knew your name) does an incredible job with the fish, plants and customers. For a chain store the aquatics area is far beyond expectations. Some employees there truly care, and it really shows.I make the trip from Tahoe, passing many other stores, to specifically give this place my business on fish and live plants.However the rest of the store gets 2 stars, lots of bare shelves.But the aquatics department is on point. Go here before any other stop for fish or plants.

The store is in the perfect spot. Employees are willing to help each person with their needs until finished. It's always a bit busy, so expect to wait. Shelves are well maintained and stocked. Lots of regular customers and animals roaming around the store. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the lack of focus by employees to get to the next customer.

I don't know what it is about the Petco Stores around the Reno and Sparks areas, but they always seem dirty. This one was the worst. Luckily for them they carry Acana dog food, which is the only brand I feed my dogs. I asked one of the customer service persons where the restrooms were. She said they didn't have any. Well, okay, odd. Went up to the register to check out and looked to my left and sure enough there were restrooms available. Once I got in to use it I knew why she said they didn't have any. The men's was FILTHY! It stunk something awful. The papertowel dispenser was in shambles. The sink area was dirty, no, filthy. This is NOT how a chain store should be. I worked in retail a large part of my life and know what it takes to keep and make a store clean. Comes from management. From what I see it is purely lacking

There is a staff member at this location who is pushy, nosy, with an odd sense of entitlement.She walks around the store screaming loudly at a bird on her shoulder called Kiwi and interject herself into customers' conversations.While I browsed the aquatics section, she told me flat out that she could not sell me fish without knowing the size of my tank, while there were dead and dying fish in the store's filthy, over stocked aquariums!Her badgering made for an extremely uncomfortable shopping experience.Hi, corporate. Customer service training is desperately needed at this location.

I do not get to Petco often because I live so far away. I wanted to get a new Beta and saw the wide variety of selections to choose from. Finially after 30 minutes of looking I picked one out. I was a bit nervous about the purchase because they come in a little cup and had no clue about the survival rate of them. The cashier assured me that there was a 14 day period that I have to either exchange him or if something happen to him I could come and get another one. I was plesently surprised at this. Got home and put Skippy in my Biorb tank and he is a happy happy red white and blue Beta fish! Highly recommend PetCo!
