My journey started a few months back when I saw F2 Altums were out of stock. I asked to be notified when they were available. I received an email and called that day. I spoke with Miguel and ordered 12 Altums that day. I received the fish at 11:30 the next day. The packing was incredible and the fish are beautiful! The care put into raising and shipping the fish definitely shows.

This place is amazing, great healthy discus at an amazing price. No pressure sales. Miguel let’s you take your time and helps you pick the best ones in the tank. His price are awesome. Never needs to worry about stunted discus. All his discus comes up to the glass. I drove to Vegas for 5.5 hours from Utah just to come here. Second time I have purchased from Discus America. First time purchase, my discus have been growing and doing amazing. I am about good service and this place definitely has that for sure. Excellent quality of discus and super healthy. Ordered 4 wild discus which are amazing but what strike me the most was their friendly behavior. Not skittish at all!! I am surprised compared to some of my domestic discus that get spook very easily. That is merit to Mike who advised me to spend time with the discus. Excellent service, calls you right back. I personally like to hand pick my discus, he will send you videos and pictures if requested,

Both Mike and Miguel are very knowledgeable. Miguel opened the store half an hour earlier than I had originally asked him scheduled for an appointment to accommodate us.It's obvious they love what they are doing. When picking out discus Mike put emphasis on what would be best for me and for the discus fish themselves. He had many opportunities to upsell but focused on what was best for our my well being.I'm definitely getting more fish from them when it comes time to expand. I'm very happy with the prices, the staff and the quality of my fish.

Passion to follow your dreams is a goal everyone should experience in their life time. I’ve been a fish hobbyist since I was 5 years old, the odd ball kid fascinated with fish for some reason! I collected and raised several species throughout my lifetime, grew out of the hobby as family overcame priorities and eventually shelved my passion for a few years. As my kids grew older and more independent, I grew my passion for tropical fish once again and was fascinated to try the ever so elusive discus! I researched Las Vegas and found Discus America where I met Mike and Miguel. Never in my life had I met two people that were so open to share their knowledge and passion to make sure I was successful as a discus hobbyist. 3 plus years later I’ve successfully raised several domestic strains, bred discus pairs and raised their fry, maintained a fish room and breeding system, I currently have a fleet of thriving wild discus and met so many great people along the way. I owe so much to Mike and Miguel for not letting me forget my passion for fish and I highly recommend anyone getting into the hobby to learn from both of them. Simply the best people in my mind. I live up North in Nevada. I was looking for quality fish for a discus tank set up in a 125g. I ordered 5 discus from Miguel and Mike. I'll start off by saying that within an hour of purchase online I was contacted and asked when I would like a scheduled delivery. Next, I kept in contact with Mike who answered my emails nearly immediately. They sent me a video of the fish I purchased prior to shipping upon my request. They followed my tracking during shipment. Now the good part, the fish arrive and they are packaged the best I've seen and I've purchased from world renowned discus breeders in the past. They were great quality and perfectly healthy after a 24 hour ride in a bag. These guys know what they are doing from customer service to packaging and shipping and of course quality discus. This is my new go to discus shop. Pass the word on and give these guys props. Don't buy anywhere else. Shout out to Mike, you were awesome my friend. Keep up the awesome work guys.

This is my second time purchasing from Discus America! It will not be my last. They have the highest quality fish, much better than even Wattley Discus! From all the major Discus and Altum breeders out there Discus America will be my only go to from now on. The packing during shipping is professionally done, the best quality there is. The fish arrive healthy, with an apatite and quickly settle into the tank. Their bodies are of good proportion, their color is fantastic!!! The customer service is beyond any compare! I have had questions and they have all been answered quickly! I have asked to be notified when fish I'm looking for arrive, and they tell me right away so I do not miss the purchase! They’re very experienced and knowledgeable, they answer any questions you have from what to feed them, to how often to do water changes, water temperatures and more. Miguel and Michael know exactly what they’re doing when raising their Discus. They are extremely knowledgeable and open to answering all your questions regarding the prized fish they breed and sell. Excellent husbandry skills are evident here as all of their specimens are healthy, colorful and have the best appetite. Miguel and Michael also have a separate breeding facility where they control all aspects of the fish rearing process. I’ve never owned discus Fish before and have always been apprehensive due to all the literature warning their expert skill requirement. All of the worry went away after realizing that I could keep them alive and thriving with just my regular maintenance and weekly water change. I placed a very large order for anubias to be shipped to South Dakota...in the winter... Crazy, right?!?! Nope! The plants were so properly prepared and packed for a successful shipment.
