I service this location as a vendor so I tend to stop in here at least once or twice a week. On my way in, I happen to see some kids selling bananas out front. Not bothering anybody, not harassing anybody either, just some kids trying to get some spending cash. All of a sudden, the front end staff member comes storming out to chase them off in a rather rude way which I was appalled by. I remember being that age once trying to sell snow cones and lemonade so I can relate to them just trynna get some cash in an honest and decent way!Y’all want to rip on these young kids for being in front of a screen watching TikToks and brain rot instead of going outside to play, but when they do you lot want to hound them for it? For shame, Smith’s. I always admired you lot as a community store and for you lot to treat the youngest of our community so poorly really makes me think twice of your place in the community.

Terrible customer service! I called to order a cake, was transferred back to the bakery 3 times before someone answered. I requested a lemon cake but was told it was not an option so ordered a marble cake. When I showed up to pick it up, I waited while 2 employees finished their conversation. They couldn’t help me - I had to wait for the one person who was apparently qualified to hand me a box - and when she finally did give it to me it was the wrong cake. The checkout process was a similar experience. Lots of employees but not working efficiently. A complete mess!

Love this store. Great prices, clean great quality Meats, well stocked produce, helpful staff, case pricing is always great buys. I can always find anything I'm looking for. All and all very pleasant experiences. Enjoy your shopping.

Smith's has a big variety of Special items hanging on End caps, well maintained with stock products. Extra self- Check out registers, lines seemed to be lessened and more self-served for Seniors.One Inspiring note are signing up on the app, Local Companies that are non- profit organizations, I chose the Douglas County Citizen Patrol 🚓.What ever you spend accounts for the non profit organization and they receive a check from Smith's. It's something to think about helping out a nonprofit organization.

It’s ironic that it’s difficult to find 100% plant-based pre-made salad in a grocery store. It’s all flavorless bacon bits with a side of ranch dressing topped with ranch dressing. I found one option that suited my dietary needs, and even then I was accosted by the self checkout. I put my scanned item into the scale within half a second of scanning, and yet, the machine still had the gall to yell at me in an irate computer voice to put my items on the scale even though they were already on the scale. Never shopping here again, unless Kroger corporate gets with the picture. There’s a Raley’s that I’ll shop at instead from now on right next door. The staff at the Smith’s were 10/10 in terms of customer service though. I would shop there because they were great, but not until Kroger changes their operations.

The outstanding customer service really sets this Smith's apart! In particular, Max in the produce area is always willing to go back and cheerfully look for produce that is not out or fresher! Also, Robert in the self check area, is always so helpful when I can't get a barcode to work, he couldn't be nicer! It's employees like this that make me want to drive extra to go to this Smith's!

The deli has the worst employees they never say hi or smile they are very rude and every time I ask for them to shave the corned beef or ham they don’t know how to do it but I have gotten it shaved before I don’t know why they can’t do it anymore. They don’t even ask what brand I want anymore just give me the most expensive. I’m just going to go to another store. They are just lazy rude people. I don’t think it’s going to change.

Clean store, friendly happy employees, good selection and great sale prices. BUT every time I use instore or digital coupons or weekly digital coupons or special 5 for 5 specials I end up either having to hold up the checkout line or get help in self check or chat online after I get home to get the receipt correct. The Kroger chat agent checks the receipt online and gives the refund on my account but not everyone, especially older shoppers, have the ability to follow up. I would be paying at least 10% more for my groceries if I didn't follow up and have the errors corrected.

Well I'm been shopping at this Smith's in Gardnerville for over 30 years. I have been greeted by most of the people that work there if they have been there for 10 years or whatever the store is my family store they can't take care of me as well as I take care of my.

I do not recommend working here. The manager will yell at you for absolutely nothing, and if you work out in fuel there’s one specific lady out there that will also yell at you. I enjoy shopping there though, but working… will never EVER work there again. I wish i could give it a 0 out of 5 stars.

I love this store. There's a Smith's in Carson City where I live as well but this one is cleaner, better stocked and friendlier. This visit I got gas, used my points and got .10 off per gallon, can't beat that these days with the price of gas!

Smith's is the most popular store in town. Best meat, great produce, lowest prices. The employees are friendly and great helping us, customers. I've been a regular customer for over 12 years. The other big Grocery Store is pretty and the prices are higher for the same items. So Smith's/Kroger has a loyal customer in me. Oh the Kroger Ice Cream is the best.

Love this place! They have great sales (you do need a Smith's card, but you get fuel point too to use at the gas station!) The staff is always friendly and there are plenty of them so your not left roaming the isles look for that one item! They also sell Boars Head lunch meat! Best lunch meat ever!

I usually take my mother-in-law to Smith's once a month so she can get out of the house and get her shopping done. I've never been more impressed with the entire staff at one place as I was today. Everyone was smiling. They treated her like family... a few of them recognized her and spent time chatting with her. They were eager to help out with anything she needed. Very, very impressed. Thank you so much for making her feel special.

I think it's really important for a company to know if one of their employees is not only exceptional at their job but does something so kind that it can't help but restore you faith in humanity.I told an Instacart shopper, Abigail that I had delivered food for us while my dad was on hospice that he had passed away in October. She texted me how sorry she was. And she also brought me a bouquet of flowers that touched me so deeply I started crying. It was very special because not one person got me flowers when my dad passed. It just meant a lot to me.I also need to take the time to also thank Instacart shopper Rachel that always made sure dad had the foods he needed. She always went above and beyond to meet his special needs.So, thank you to these two kind and amazing women. I appreciate you

We used to use smiths in Gardnerville every week. 2-300$ per visit. We used to be grateful for the prices they have. But for the last 5-6 months their service has gone from pretty good, to garbage. When you have to wait 20-45 minutes in line because they have 1 sometimes 2 checkers, and that I’ve had to bag my own groceries for about the same time tells me and others, that smiths has gone to hell. Today was the worst shopping experience I have had, and my mind was made by today’s joke of a shopping experience. Even though Raileys is more expensive I’m shopping there from now on. If I need bulk items I’ll drive to Walmart at the end of town, and I dislike Walmart a lot. For the last 20 years shopping w smiths had been great, many parents and single parents don’t have time to wait this long in line to pay and then bag their own groceries.

I LOVE Smiths Food & Drug @ 1341 N Hwy 395 Gardnerville NV! Best place for groceries, best prices, best service, best prices on prescriptions in town! Kroger products rule! The employees & management are always thoughtful, cheerful, helpful & knowledgeable! I have never had a better shopping experience at a neighborhood market or as much fun! This is the least expensive spot in town. They always have good sales and good everyday prices. I find it even cheaper than Wal-Mart. Also, every one is nice, they have car carts for the kids, and offer free fruit for the kids to snack on. I appreciate the bulk foods section where we get lots pf oatmeal, granola, and dried fruit. Their kroger brand cold cereal is really good too.

They are a shell of what they were 2 - 3 years ago. Customer service has become "employee service." Staff doesn't care, manager appears to care less, he may be in over his head. I think he was a product manager who got a longevity promotion.

They have a good staff, the selection is ok... There produce is 50/50 good awful/prices are not bad fairly competitive with walmart on many goods but they get killed on bulk items ...The gas discount when I shop there is a very good thing and keeps me shopping there over anyplace else if I can help it to!

Very good prices with rotating sales on items. Food seems to be fresh typically. Always friendly people. Bakery, deli, meat and seafood counter and ready made and made to order items are great.

I generally like Smith’s, but not today. Went to the meat counter (you know, the expense of meats on displayed, not in packages). Asked the gal what the expiration date is on these “fresh“ cuts of meat. She did not know. I asked her if they have any grass fed beef. She did not know. I then saw one of the butchers in the back stocking the shelves with meat. I asked him if they get any grass fed beef from the local ranchers like Bentley, Park Cattle Co, or Settlemeyer? He didn’t know what I was talking about. I left and went to Raley’s. Their meat guy knew all these answers.
