I enjoy having this store in town as we have few options locally to get some of the products they offer. Some of their help isn't the friendliest or most helpful though.I had bought a can of spray paint there and it stopped spraying 1/3rd of the way through the can and paint started running out of the can from under the nozzle so I exchanged it for another thinking I just got a bad can. Same problem with the next can, it wouldn't spray very well and then paint started running out of the opening under the nozzle.........made a huge mess.The second time I went to return the can, 5 employees were waiting for me when I came back to the register and more or less accused me of stealing from them since the cans were partially used. They claimed they tried them and they worked just fine to which I asked one of them to show me. They went outside and started spraying the can and the employee got very defensive towards me saying "See, it works just fine!"I told her that it indeed did spray but check out your hand now. She was oblivious to anything other than the piece of paper she was spraying. Her hand was completely covered in black paint from all the paint that came oozing out underneath the nozzle. She just got real quiet and we went back inside. After I had proven that the cans weren't working and the rest of the employees had seen the mess it left, they were all just quiet because they realized that I wasn't trying to pull anything and the cans were indeed faulty.Had they taken the time to look at the sides of the can's to see all the paint that had ran down the side instead of getting defensive, they would have known there was a problem. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know they aren't supposed to do that. You would think the money was coming out of their own pocket the way they treated me. Do you really think I wanted to take 45 minutes out of my day and deal with all this just to get a little free paint?I wanted to exchange the 2nd can for a different brand and what I assume was the shift manager told me that she wouldn't exchange anything else for me. I told her to just give me my money back and I would buy the can then. Needles to say, she just ended up exchanging the can. This can was a different brand and worked just fine. Not sure I would have bothered taking it back even if it didn't work, makes me not want to do business there anymore.Nothing like combative employees that more or less accuse you of stealing from them. I'll go do business with ACE hardware in the future whenever I can, it's locally owned and the help is friendly and helpful.
