Dr. Chris Federer just took over this practice. She is the most amazing veterinarian ever. We have used her as a vet for our cats and dogs for decades. I would never use anyone else. She is conservative, kind, and knowledgeable. If you want great pet care, this is the place to go!

Bedside manner is horrendous. Have had the same reoccurring ear issue with my cat for months and nothing seems to be done. They give me the same stuff and charge me $85 for an exam. Not to mention their “emergency” services are only available to clientele they like. Apparently my cat vomiting blood is not an emergency. If I could give less than 1 star I would. If you love your pet, don’t take them here.

To me they changed to much, I found a better Vet in Logan Iowa, and much cheaper.And they showed more compassion for me and my pets.I would give them the highest rating you can give.

Only had good experiences with Dr. Johnson and the staff at Blair Small Animal Clinic. Our guinea pigs have been treated very well and responded wonderfully to their treatment including an emergency visit in a tough situation recently. Thank you!!

I would highly recommend the Blair Small Animal clinic. Dr.Johnson and staff were extremely helpful and compassionate when we brought our fur baby in who was in pain. They helped us put him out of pain in the most peaceful way. He is no longer suffering from cancer. Will definitely use this vet when we get another dog.

I have brought my pets here for years. They are always professional and helpful, even when my cat when into shock over a weekend and I had to call the veterinarians emergency number. This vet is very straight forward with options, risks, and pricing, and if he recommends something he explains why he is making the recommendation and always answers any questions I have. I’m not in Blair anymore, but I trust this vet more than many of the others I have been to that want to upcharge me for unnecessary services, so I will continue to take my pets here.

We have taken our dogs, cats and even our snake to Dr. Johnson since we moved to the area over 20 years ago. He and his crew have always been top notch, treating our pets and us with the utmost respect and amazing care. Dr. Johnson and his crew have gone above and beyond, even taking care of our son's dog back in 2007 while he was visiting from Michigan and got hit by a car. Blair Small Animal Clinic is a big beautiful family who love and care for our pets as if they were their own.

Staff is great. Dr Johnson can seem gruff, but he genuinely cares about animals, which is an important trait for a vet. He attends continuing training regularly because he enjoys learning, and to stay on top of changing science. For a small town vet, his office does have a lot of new technology. I take my pets there, and will continue doing so.

I have been taking my dogs to Doc for over ten years. There is nobody I trust more. He has always been compassionate and understanding. Doc doesn't nickel and dime you. He has seen me through four dogs from puppy shots to annual visits, emergency problems and even putting one to sleep. He takes his time, is thorough and so intelligent. He has always remained up to date on modern research, so he is at the top of his field and modern techniques and procedures. I recommend him to all my family and friends. Once I had an emergency vet (overnight emergency) misdiagnose my dog. After a few days, when my dog wasn't better, I took my pup to Doc. He quickly diagnosed him correctly, got him on the right meds and the right food, and all at a fraction of the cost of the first vet. Saved my dogs life.Docs staff is also compassionate and caring. Michelle at the front desk works hard to be understanding and patient. She comes in early to walk the dogs and gives each one special attention. Doc only hires the best staff. Highly Recommend.

I have two miniature Doxie's. We treated one for back problems for a long time, but eventually lost the battle. Dr. Johnson and his staff could not have possibly been more attentive to the needs of both my little Ginger and myself. They were so kind and empathetic, willing to spend all the time necessary to make both of us as comfortable as possible -- at an extremely reasonable price. I even received a sympathy card! I am so thrilled I found such a loving, caring clinic for my special little friends. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Great service. Dr. Johnson has lot of experience and is very knowleable . He helped me with Belle Rose when my other vet did not do near as good. This time the problem is solved. And my puppy is once again healthy.

If I could give less than one star I would. Apparently a 3 year old dog who has lost the use of her back legs is not considered an emergency by this Vet,however in the opinion of another Vet not only is it an emergency but needed to be acted on within 24 hours. I guess its of no consequence now, the sweetest little dog in the world had to be put down today thanks to the lack of proper emergency care! If you love your dog I wouldn't bring them here.

I bought a puppy and it came with Parvo, which kills a lot of dogs. Blair Small Animal clinic nursed her back to health. She is now a happy healthy Great Dane. Thank you Doc Johnson.
