We took a trip with 35 seniors to visit the historic Nevada City. They had many interesting static displays. Many people dressed in period cloths and performing routine chores. A very good experience. Well organized. We'd go back. We didn't stay there, though. We took the small railroad ride to Virginia City from here.Nearby activities: Many historic static displays. Well organized.Walkability: Easily walkable area to visit the displays.Food & drinks: We went to a bakery to some pastrues abd coffee. Very good food. Great service.

Very neat place, Mosquitos are vicious though, be prepared. Buildings and history are cool, wish there were interpreters there more often (there are demos, but not when we went) so we could get a better feel of the old west. Nevada city was cooler than Virginia city next door.Walkability: Definitely walkable, but wear Bug spray.

Didn't stay at hotel.. Just stopped at Neveda City I sight see. Thought it was a true old Western town and settlement of Montana. Turns out it is a privately owned property just placing buildings that are original - but not from this area in the backyard. The few buildings facing the main highway are original.

What an experience! Touring and staying in an old west 1800 town. So Worth stopping by and touring Nevada City, Montana. They have bathrooms located in several places. Board walks, grass and gravel roads. Handicap accessible and kid and pet friendly. Buildings are numbered and the map tells about much of them but may buildings also have additional information on signs in front of them. There is also a train you can ride to Virginia City which is just up the road. You will learn about the vigilantes and the meaning behind 3-7-77. Great historical place to visit while on your journey.Nearby activities: Virginia City is just up the road. You can ride a restored train to it. There is shopping, candy store, cafe's and so much more in Virginia City. Nevada City is mostly a historic place to visit and experience.Safety: I took my 15 grandkids from newborn to 11 years old, and my aged aunt and parents and my kids and their spouses. We all felt safe letting the kids run around within viewing distance. There was one are marked off as an area for snakes and a warning to stay away. Heed the warning and I felt the whole experience was well worth the time.Walkability: Easy to walk, use a walker, stroller or wheelchair.Noteworthy details: Beautifully restored building. Many are still being restored. They keep adding to this town in an effort to bring it back to what it once was. Have your camera ready.

What a pleasant surprise, booked a cabin here last minute and I couldn’t have been more pleased. They put the A in adorable! Had a light rain shower move in and even the rain on the roof was pleasant to listen to. Clean, cozy, comfortable beds just a really cute days gone by western town. So many cool building and structures to walk through and shop in. We missed the nighttime ghost tour but hear that is really cool to do at night. Definitely give this cute town a try you won’t be disappointed.

The Town of Nevada City, Montana is basically a conglomeration of buildings lovingly and thoughtfully gathered from places in Montana and assembled a mile outside of Virginia City, MT.While a few buildings stand on their original sites, you would not know this collection came together in order to preserve and protect Montana’s past, unless you were told. The buildings are beautiful and interesting.Their is a charge to enter the venue which is well worth it. I only took a few photos. It is worth the drive and a wonderful destination weekend vacation.

Stayed in the Victorian suite upstairs (room 7) and we very much enjoyed it. I read some previous posts about the hotel being old...well, duh! It's from 1896 people, that's why you stay there! The floors creak like crazy when you walk in your room, no sneaking around! Our room was very clean and the whole hotel had a lot of character. The beds are pretty bouncy and are not exactly new but definitely did not keep us from sleeping well. Our room had a window air conditioner and box fan which was nice but the weather was cool enough we didn't really need it. Sat on the veranda and enjoyed a nice sunset. Bathroom had a functional shower and excellent water pressure. We were kind of hoping to experience some ghost activity after taking the night time Ghost Tour in Virginia City, but none to be had. Was a fun night and we would stay here again for sure. Had breakfast at the Star Bakery next door and it was delicious!!!

This place is adorable! The people running it were super pleasant, the room was spotless, check in was easy. My only complaint is the amount of noise we heard! We stayed in a cabin, and we heard cars driving by and people talking at all hours. More insulation would have been appreciated.

The Nevada City cabins (booked through the Fairweather Inn in Virginia City) are terrific. The cabins themselves are over 100 years old, but the insides have been redone with modern plumbing and furnishing. Just the right amount of rusticness for us. Also, Patty at the Fairweather couldn't have been nicer. I left my keys in my room and she mailed them to me. Thanks so much for a great stay.

Rustic, historic and very friendly! This is a unique experience and a chance to relive a little bit of history. The hotel is within walking distance of a museum and a place to take the kids gold panning. No TVs in the rooms, but there is a cool coffee bar on the first floor.

This is a great place if you're looking to stay in a historic location. I only gave it three stars because the pictures on the website lead you to believe that that's what your room will look like. Those rooms are either the cabins or they're roped off as "look at" historical rooms. Although it's been updated at some point, the bathrooms could use another refresher. We didn't have any ghost experiences.

Nice rooms, unfortunately the WiFi didn't work in our room. We had to go to the lobby to use it. The bathroom was pretty clean but old and kinda shabby. Someone forgot her shaver on top of the shower... The faucet was dripping. The breakfast next door from the bakery the one day and especially the one in the restaurant the other day were really good.

We stayed in the cabins. It was clean, cozy, and nicely remodeled. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is quite historic and well maintained. There are 4 pet friendly cabins, if you need one make sure you call to get one. We really enjoyed our stay! We will definitely be back!!

Very comfortable beds, clean and lots of hot water. We like to lounge around outside, and there only small wooden benches... Perhaps others should bring chairs. Oh, and no coffee in the rooms, but restaurant and an amazing bakery nearby which open at 7.

The hotel location was great. Right next door to the living Nevada City Museum and across the street from the train station which provided transportation to Virginia City. Virginia city was only a short Mile and a half drive away. The hotel itself is an older building with creaky floors and thin walls. If the person in the room next to you coughs you can hear them. The beds were comfy and the room had all of the necessary ammenenties for a one night stay. It is a smaller hotel with limited services but the staff was great, the coffee shop within it had great service in the morning and the location was convenient.

Paid $170 to get half a cabin. All was good until the neighbors came home and you could hear every word they said. There is nothing separating the rooms besides a door and thin wall. The neighbors were not being loud or obnoxious, there is no insulation and we were not aware of this issue prior to booking. If we had known we would pretty much have a bunk mate, we would have never paid that ridiculous price.

Rustic, clean, very friendly staff. Fun and quaint. No tv, wifi, air conditioning or extras. Pretty wood, the mattresses need replaced, and it would make the room nicer with bedskirts covering the mattress springs. The shower could really use some paint and the bathroom wall tile replaced where it has fallen off. Room was clean, but smelled musty. Windows were stuck half open. Kinda pricey for what you get, but the staff was great.

We loved our stay in Cabin # 5. It was so comfortable with 2 queen beds, window A/C, mini fridge and WI-FI. It was directly behind the old Nevada Hotel, and facing the 2 story outhouse attached to the back of the old hotel. Our cabin had sod roof and rocking chairs outside to enjoy the quiet of the evening. We were touring Ghost towns and loved staying in an authentic restored miners cabin from the booming mining days of the past. There was no TV and we knew that beforehand, so we had books and downloaded movies as we weren’t expecting Wi-Fi. There is a maintenance person who stays in one of the cabins in case of problems. Check in is at Fairweather Inn in Virginia City, only a mile down the road. Sofia checked us in and she was a delight, so friendly, fun and helpful, even dressed in period dress. Sheri at check out was also fantastic. If you are looking to get away from the hustle bustle of the city, take a trip to Virginia City-Nevada City Mt and stay in a cabin relax and explore the past.

Looks great from the outside wish it was open for business longer than the summer. 85 degrees when I was here potential customers walking all over town. Entire town is closed down including the Music hall.... make sure you visit between Memorial Day and Labor Day or you'll be locked out

It's a nice cabin, but it's really compacted and not too safe. I got spider bites all up and down my legs from the windows not being able to shut and one of the screens being broken open. The staff were incredibly friendly though!!

Be prepared, you're in the old west now! No a/c in some rooms and I need it :-)BUT- if you want to immerse yourself in a time long gone, check this place out. Helpful staff, let us switch rooms, great coffee in the morning, and just an amazing atmosphere.Updated bathrooms too.

I didn't stay at the hotel but I enjoyed a coffee there. The server was dressed in period costume and the iced coffee was great. A mega cute place.

Quoted one price but in reality I had to pay at least $30 more when I got there. Five star price $170 a night for a old half of a cabin, no five star extras. Old metal shower, never again, not at that price! Avoid this place.

The cabins are, while obviously older, very comfortable and VERY clean. Super friendly staff- just the kind of hospitality I’d expected from a Montana community. Well worth a visit!
