We established care for our animals years ago. They have always been great to our animals & us over these years. Dr. Detweiler truly cares... and Nicole is the bee's knees! Recently we had an emergency & had to take our pup to a weekend veterinarian, happy our vet squeezed us in as soon as they could the following week! Love Them!!!🐕💗

Dr. Detwiler failed to return an emergency call on Tuesday made at 7:30am to their after hours answering service. This is obnoxious: don't list a 24 hour callback service if your medical professional is too jaded to answer an emergency page. A people-doctor friend laughed out loud at this.Also, the person answering that 24 hour line was rude, seemed to have a bad connection and got off the call as fast as possible. I spoke later to a person at the vet office, who did not take my number or offer any kind of apology; they did say that Dr. Detwiler often does not return calls on the weekend.Another follow up call met with a rude person on the phone unable to explain the reason or intent of their 24 hour emergency message service, or rather she offered some kind of thing made up on the spot and when that made no sense demanded that she had already answered the question. Good for you. I understand that as an adult it's difficult to manage to be civil on the phone when you aren't expected or forced to do so.Rudeness seems to be a theme at this place. Maybe it's run by volunteers who don't actually earn an income through the proceeds of the work or services performed. Obviously, whoever makes the decisions here has the luxury of picking and choosing customers and scaring off new ones, and the giant amount of revenue to pay someone to talk to whoever does call like she's sitting in her living room being interrupted by an irritating stranger. Cheers, really great legacy going on here.

I love bringing my pets here. They're always very careful and considerate. I know my animals are well taken care of. Nicole at the front desk always sounds glad to hear from me and really cares about our animals.

I wish there was an option to give zero stars. We brought my dog in , and my friends grandmas dog. They were both having seizures from eating rotten strawberries. They accused us of feeding our dogs marijuana. Then treated them. Called me the following day saying I could bring my dog home which was still tremoring and seizing and vomiting. Proceeded to give me a medication for her that she did not need. We took her to Pet emergency in Missoula. They told me the med they prescribed her phenobarbital could harm her and that she did not need it that it takes 30 days to even work effectively. She’s 12 wks old and it was to dangerous. Within 24 hrs of being at another vet , she was fine. Keep in mind when we picked her up from Mission Valley , she couldn’t keep anything down , seizing in the back seat. But I could bring her home?! I do not recommend this place to anyone!!! Not only that but the staff is very rude , the front desk lady has the nastiest attitude and so does the veterinarian , he’s older. They were both absolutely heartless & obnoxious.

Very rude, walked in just trying to ask questions and waited for the people in front of us, the lady was still on the phone. then when finally she said something to us, she asks so rudely what we’re doing there and we ask her about shots and she replied in an unprofessional way, could have said something when we first walked in. never experienced something like that for no reason at all. there could have been a nicer way to answering a question. especially when we first walked in and they felt the need to give us a dirty look, like that’s when you’re supposed to acknowledge a customer, not be rude. especially the girl with messed up eyebrows, looks like she uses a sharpie, probably the same one she has up her a-racism is still alive because they treated the people in front of us so kindly, and then they try lying.

I absolutely love these guys. They're fantastic. They saved my kittens life when she was choking on a stick that was stuck in her mouth. They have been my cats vet for years and have always helped me with any advise.

We brought our puppy in for a vaccine and the office manager said they required to perform an exam to do the vaccine. We agreed and thought why not? We scheduled a follow up vaccine for 3 weeks later and after the vaccine, they handed us an invoice for another exam. This was not agreed upon and when we asked why another exam was necessary, she said in case the Vet missed something the first time. What a scam!

They were extremely rude. We came in and no one tried to acknowledge us. We waited and then finally they said to us what do you need. And I replied with we were wondering if we could bring my cat in for some shots. Then the front desk lady said no you need to schedule. And we are full so you can leave. Then she rolled her eyes and sighed around

We brought our puppies in for their first set of vaccinations, and we couldn't be more pleased with the service here. Besides the convenience of the location, we are now already extremely comfortable with entrusting our fur babies with them. We plan on continuing Buster and Winnie's vaccinations here, and have already scheduled their altering and micro-chipping appointments. It's good to know they will be in good hands here!

I had a batch of puppies become very ill with parvo over the weekend. The staff was very rude when we contacted them for help and hung up on us multiple times. We tried home treatments until normal business hours, we lost 5 puppies. When we got in touch with someone they told us for the sickest dog to be able to get a prescription to help save him he needed to be seen, when we asked if we could bring him in to be seen they told us no. They were nothing but unhelpful and rude to us and gave us no hope. Won't EVER be going there again.

Love this vet! They were all so very nice and tried to help us the best they could! I would definitely recommend taking your pets here, the price for taking care of our pet was way cheaper than we expected, we're so happy with them all!

This veterinarian does wonderful work. They know what they are doing n have always done a follow up call to make sure all is still good. To me this is very important. I recommend this place for your animals

Brought a stray cat in to get spayed. Ended up being an hour late for drop off appointment but the courteous staff was able to fit her in. Surgery was performed very skillfully and she appeared to be in no pain. Staff went over all the options clearly and completely. With the Lake County low cost spay/neuter program, the procedure was very affordable and allowed me to get her up to date on shots and worming. Two days after our new little kitty is back to her full time job of pouncing on the dog and destroying all the toilet paper. I highly recommend Mission Valley Vet.

We were referred to them by friends. The first woman I spoke to was great. I said I would call back. When I called back to set up the appointment, they lectured me and made me feel like a horrible person who didn't care about my pet and didn't understand what I trying to do. I do my research, I know. I will never go here

Yesterday was the last time I will go here. By the way I used to go to him quite a few years ago and really liked him and his staff. I took a dying rabbit to the office one morning and was told sorry we can't help you here is no one here. I took my little dog there last evening prior to closing time struggled to get the door open with my injured dog in my arms. I was told sorry there isn't anyone here. I will never attempt to take an animal there again. Bummer I liked the Vet too. By the way when you work at a place like this and someone shows up alone carrying an animal, wwith a zero walk out from behind the desk and at least open the door. I'm happy others have had good luck.
