We were staying in Cooke City and had to check this store out. It was amazing. I loved the historic items, and they had my favorite candy--Chick-O-Sticks!!! They gave wonderful chocolate that you can buy by the pound. We also found some Chokecherry syrup. They have a small fastest area, some grocery items, bread, donuts, cookies, a fly fishing area, and so much more. The staff was very nice.

Love this store. Usually out first stop on the way into town. They have a little of everything. Their selection of local books is even better than the bookstores in Gardiner. Great people work here too!

Run far away the Woman working in the store is the WORST! She’s snide and the most unfriendly, unprofessional personality EVER! For a place that makes its living off of tourist especially with Yellowstone being closed in this area she needs to think twice about her career choice! And it’s SUPER expensive for that kind of service.

Nice Old Time General Store! They didn't have much but happy they had Spaghetti noodles and sauce so we didn't have to eat at the SUBPAR Miners Saloon again! The BBQ joint was good but we needed to switch it up! Much appreciated!

The general store is a historic location for a good reason! Take one stop in an you'll see the historical feel of the building. They're well-stocked with goods a tourist might need, as well as local items as well (chocolates and huckleberry-themed goods).Be aware - since the store is so isolated from civilization, they do charge an arm and a leg for what they sell!

2 stars for the neat old store. Zero stars for the help. Too busy chatting with a friend then gets on the phone. Waited 15 minutes asked about fishing and got a not so friendly answer. We felt we were bothering him. Found about 1/2 the people in town very nice and the other 1/2 felt we were a bother to them. Sad because this could be a great place. Needs some customer service training.

It's a must stop here whenever you come to Cooke city. Not many businesses that are operating are in buildings still standing from the 1880's!

This Place Doesn’t Care If You Have Health Issues and Can’t Wear A Mask!!Rude Staff. My family and I did the beartooth pass and stopped in Cooke City to eat and shop like we do every year. We went into the General Store and we were approached my an employee who asked one of us to put on a face mask. We explained to him that he has severe asthma and can’t wear a mask. The employee then told him he had to leave. The mandate for Montana says if you have certain health issues you do NOT have to wear a mask!! Needless to say they lost our business and will never recommend their store.

Unique one of a kind and one of the last old general stores from the West. Fun place with a variety of products including funny postcards and bulk chocolate candy.

There aren't many options for groceries and fresh produce in Cooke City, but they had what we needed without overly obnoxious prices. Staff was helpful and friendly.
