We frequently donate items to the West Plains Regional Animal Shelter to help with the cost of care for the animals housed here. The volunteers do a good job keeping everything organized and running smoothly. We appreciate the service that they provide and surely wished we could house more of the displaced animals. It's heartbreaking that the shelter is always at maximum capacity.

They were very nice to work with and I just do not see how they can adopt dogs and cats for only 50.00 which includes neutering, rabies and flea pill. We adopted Sig (Frazier) and love him. He goes everywhere with us. He's so well mannered and he is so handsome!! Please adopt or if you can not have pets please donate.

The pens were outside. There were approximately three dogs to a pen, which I felt was really a good idea - they needed some companionship. The base of the pens were dirt. Each one had a covering/shelter to it. They were all clean. It is August, in high-heat temps, and there wasn't any overwhelming smell that I noticed. The animals looked healthy. The noise from the barking and the excitement they all shared from visiting company was deafening. All were energetic, frisky, and very happy. Of course, they seemed a bit wild from being in a pen. That is normal canine behavior. I would have had cause to worry if they weren't jumping and running around like dogs.It is obvious that this woman cares about the animals there and is operating on a shoestring budget. All the dogs will calm down once in a normal "human being" environment. I would recommend taking a look or just donating a few dollars to help out.

i adopted my beautiful boston terrier from this facility during the winter of the polar vortexes. the dogs were in outdoor kennels and each kennel pen had dog houses filled with fresh straw with several dogs to a kennel. the ground was clean with warm water for the dogs to drink and food dispencers filled with doggy kibbles. it was bitter cold the day i picked my pet but all the dogs came out of their kennel boxes to greet me. the staff was polite & professional during the adoption interview. i know that the staff may be a little distant but they do their best to find forever homes for all the animals at their facility. some applicants may not be suitable for the adoption process as they may not meet the dogs or cats needs. these applicants should not be critical of the staff as the applicants can still participate as a volunteer and work with the dogs and cats as they wait for their forever home. the applicants that are not able to adopt can help the facility by donating needed items. i am sure that the facility would consider the donations as very very helpful. so, i still have by beautiful "stang" and he is such a little sweetheart. i am very grateful to be his forever home because he is my forever companion and friend.☺🐾🐾

The volunteers are just great. Takes big hearts to do the selfless work that they do: taking care of the animals and the thrift store part is wonderfully organized, super easy to shop with tons of treasures. If you donate please think about taking your clothing, household items, or even a bag of food to the shelter. Their prices are MORE than reasonable in the thrift store and the adoption fees too.

I adopted both of my cats from here. One was a black cat who had been in the shelter for 6 years and had terrible skin allergies, once he had a family to take the time to find the right medicine for him he has regained all his fur and is fat and happy. I also adopted a rambunctious little tabby who had been previously adopted and then returned, he is now well adjusted and a great companion for my other cat.I do not believe this place gasses animals unless it's absolutely necessary considering my cat was there for 6 years and wasn't even looked at for adoption consideration by anyone before me.However...it is a very small and dumpy place. The cats are kept in small, windowless rooms together. I have not seen the dog kennels.

Terrible rude lady .I drove 47 miles twice. To pick up a cat for my daughter .9 yr s old I was told to come back the next day from gainesville to pick the cat up .shots were suppose to be updated .instead a rude lady at the counter said she will not allow us to adopt her because she would spend alot of time in my daughters room .not asking us that she has a bedroom that includes a gameroom .regular room and her own bathroom .very large that goes into a 5 room house . With 40 acres .Never again .

I adopted two mature cats from this shelter. I would say honestly it is not Lollipop Farm, but they do well with what resources come their way. Most importantly the cats are loved. Neither has any fear of humans and adjusted well to their new environment. The people care and if you are local and can spare a few $ please help them. The cats are used to being handled, it makes the adoptee's life easier. Better yet adopt one. Better better yet adopt and donate

I would not recommend this establishment to anybody looking for a healthy pet. It was so nasty that after my boyfriend and I left, he vomited from the fumes. It reeks of cat poop and 90% of them have mange. The people were rude and just tried to shove you off with whatever animal they could.

Rude staff and the place is an absolute dump. I've been to better organized storage rooms.
