The whole finding stray thing yes u find them try to take them in to this shelter and they always turn u down what is the real poi t and f them than we almost ran one over had no collar took her there and they said they couldn’t take her so what should someone do that’s not allowed to have pets or can’t have them and tried to save it this place is the biggest joke and half the reviews that’s they get that r good is all friends and family trying to make them look good. How about u actually care and do ur job and get real reviews like good people

They have a great selection of young and older dogs. The trainers are very friendly and will help you with any dog you want to meet. Very reasonable prices for adoption. $110 for spayed/neutered, shots, and microchip. However, the 10 day trial period may turn into a couple months of you decide to keep the animal, so you may have to bug them to get your appointment

I was here volunteering and they have so many amazing dogs that need homes. They were all so sweet and friendly with people. The 2 women that worked the shelter were nice.

This place is horrible, and the staff are very rude and dont know their dog breeds at all. My mom and I stopped in there to drop off some canned dog food and after dropping the canned dog food off we went in the back where they keep all the dogs just too look around so we walked around alittle bit well I went to this one kennel where they had this little red and white male dog at. Well, on the plaque they have on the kennel showing what breed the dog was stated, that is was a French bulldog/Boston terrier mix. So I waited until the volunteers came back in and I told one of the women there that the breed of the dog they have written on the plaque was incorrect and told her that the dog they have in the kennel was a full blood Boston terrier. The woman responded back with 'Yeah we know they just put that on there. Then she proceeded to say, "I (her) know my dog breeds! I wasn't trying to be rude by any means at all. I just hate when someone misrepresents something and people think this is what they have. So anyways, a couple of days later, I was browsing through Facebook and saw this same dogs picture up on Facebook. So I posted a comment on the picture that was posted, and immediately, I was blocked. I just want people to be aware when going into the establishment. The volunteers are rude and think they know it all.

This is possibly the worst place in Missouri that you could adopt an animal from, when you have interest in taking a dog on trial they’re all happy and go lucky and when it doesn’t work out they side eye you and treat you like the worst person on the planet. For instance me and my wife recently took a husky out for trial cause we both lived around husky’s for the majority of our lives and know their behaviors but things didn’t work out well because of said behaviors, even though we gave her the mental stimulation and exercise required for husky’s and so we took her back to end her trial and they frowned and said things under their breath as they took her back to her kennel and soon enough they’re posting that we needed to do research on animals before we took one out for trial on their Facebook, id recommend not adopting from this shelter if you want to be treated with some sort of respectful customer service and human decency

We dropped off a pug that showed up at our house. I wish we could have kept him but we have 3 dogs and 2 cats already. Plus he was older and needed to be on meds for the rest of his life. They are known for having Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome along with other health issues. I hope that they find him a good home. He showed up on a Friday so we had him the whole weekend. We live south of the base (Ft. LeonardWood), and been told that some people dump their pets down here when they move. Pretty sad.The young ladies who work there seem awesome and fell in love with him. I'm sure that they'll find him a good home.

These people are honestly incredible! They genuinely care about they animals they have and I couldn’t be more thankful. When we thought we were going to have to say goodbye to our dog Kodiak they worked with us and held him until we were able to bring him back home. Our hearts were broken when we thought it was goodbye and they did everything they could to make it as painless as possible until I went back in and asked them to hold him for a week until we could bring him back. Two days later we were able to bring him home. He is a very very shy dog, but I could tell they took amazing care of him when he went to go hang out with the staff there when I was signing the papers to bring him back home to us. Thank you all so much for your hard work and genuine hearts!

Very great! There was one staff member that let us keep an abused hunting dog we found without putting her in the system! If she was in the system then we could not keep her! Very kind people and obviously care about the animals! Its been 7 months and our dog is doing amazing!

I love this shelter. I've gotten a few dogs at this here over the last 18 years. They have all been great dogs including our sweet lucy... aka, Sandy. This shelter is always clean and dogs are well taken care of. GREAT JOB Waynesville Shelter.

Friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. They answered all of my questions concerning breed of a dog I was inquiring about. Each kennel has access to go outside. All of the dogs had food and water and a dry place to lay down. I didn’t bring home a dog today, but I will be back.

The staff is very friendly and professional. You can tell as soon as you walk in the door, that they care for all the fur babies they have and take in. Very Very clean and no hassles on adoptions or for the animals that are taken in to be adopted. I recommend adopting from the WAYNESVILLE Shelter. Keep up the great work Waynesville Shelter!!🤗🐕🙏🙏

The dogs and puppies we're very happy, looked very well cared for and the staff was extremely friendly. There was only one cat there when we went (they house them elsewhere) but he was precious & super friendly with an immaculately clean cage.

Sue is always improving the facility and cares so much for the animals. Always opportunities to volunteer at this shelter. When I lived in the area I was a regular volunteer, walking dogs on the weekends. Contact the Waynesville Shelter to see the many opportunites available and how you can help the animals. Even if you aren't able to volunteer with the animals you might be able to make a donation, either monetary, animal supplies, or another project.

I got a mutt named Clark here and he was neutered and halfway potty trained we took him out on trial and after the ten days we adopted him I am very happy with my doggy he is the best dog and I just love his goofy face!!!!!

Adopted our newest family member, Loki the Weenie Dog, from there. He is such a sweet dog. They also allowed an extended trial before we finalized adoption. Tjat was very appreciated.

Was trying to find a stray puppy (easily adoptable) a home and they wouldn't take him. I then go to walmart to see if anyone wanted him and they ended up coming to walmart, yelling at me, and ended up taking him anyway because they assumed I was just an owner who felt she got herself into too much?? They were not professional and handled things badly :(

Cursed me out because I inquired about a kitten. Ignored my phone calls and hung up on me. Barbara is very rude and unprofessional. All I wanted to do was adopt. This is 2018 you shouldn’t stop a person from adopting/ let alone a soldier because of the color of there skin.
