When I'm in the area, I always make sure to visit my very favorite thrift store ever. It's called Ozarks Kat and K9 store, no-kill animal shelter, and adoption center, (formerly known as S.T.A.F.F.)The store has an amazing array of everything from adult and childrens' clothes, jewelry, kitchenware and small electrics, dishes, decor items, including lots of small seasonal decor, plus a craft room and a book room on the main floor.In the basement, you can find furniture, pet accessories, fishing and camping gear, handicap aids, headboards, hardware, luggage, lighting, shelves, artwork and picture frames, vacuums, large seasonal decor, and so much more.The facility is staffed by volunteers who work tirelessly on the constant inflow of donated items.The shelter and adoption center are next to the store, where the furbabies have large indoor/outdoor pens that keep them comfortable while they wait for their forever homes.This thrift store and adoption center are the gem of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, as well as the Westside of the Lake of the Ozarks. If you are visiting the lake, you have to see it for yourself!

Called during regular business hours, left a voicemail, during voicemail I could hear someone on the other end. Meaning they just wouldn’t answer the phone. Annoyed at how hard places make it to adopt a dog .

We adopted our little puppy on December 1. He is the most amazing smart little thing you can ever imagine. We are so very blessed to have him and so very thankful for the shelter. I would highly recommend them to anyone. The staff there was so kind and patient with my grandson as he made his decision. Once again very happy with our little guy.

We adopted 2 SPECTACULAR puppies from this shelter!! The shelter provided EVERYTHING we needed, including outstanding veterinary care, meds, microchiping, collars & leashes, a starter supply of food, and coupons galore!!The staff members are FABULOUS and genuinely care about the animals AND matching you with the right new furry family member!!!

This animal shelter is amazing!!! the people are wonderful and so caring and the animals are some of the best around the shelter is always clean and the fact that the thrift store and the shelter work so closely together is it spectacular! the staff is always so knowledgeable and so insightful about each and every animal that’s there And always ensure that they find the perfect home. Angi the manager gives 110% to every animal, Mary the office lady is very thorough with every applicant, Ashley the medical lead strives to ensure the health of every animal no matter what, April the enrichment puts so much Time into the animals From training to simply ensuring they don’t lose hope waiting for a home, and every girl there is so important and so special that I honestly don’t believe the place would be as amazing as it is without them all working together as a team. in all honesty there’s absolutely no better shelter in the world then this little one right here.

We found a sweet pup (named Bubba) running scared, right down the middle of Bollinger Creek Road-- with cars speeding by. He was terrified but we coaxed him to us and into our car. We could tell he was well loved and after several phone calls to the 24Petch Watch chip monitoring service named on his tag (to try and alert his owners that he was safe), we drove to Kat and K9 (after a stop at the Laurie Animal Hospital, which will not take in dogs/cats). At the shelter, Meri and her team were AMAZING. They stepped right up to help and whisked Bubba away to a safe spot. Then the best part? Meri texted me later to let us know Bubba was back with his humans. We were SO, so happy to have helped reunite them and SO grateful for Meri being able to take yet another needy animal into her care. What a wonderful, wonderful service this place provides! Donate, people!! The area needs this place in so many ways....

I love staff! Great people! No-kill shelter, and can help you get puppies and kittens adopted. Will also help you getting animals fixed! Very compassionate shelter. If you are looking to adopt, this is the best shelter to support <3 also check out their thrift store! Best at the Lake!

The volunteers are amazing! It's always clean and the animals are happy. I love going by to share some love and hugs with the fur babies. Also if you ever get a chance, stop in the staff store. Thank you to all the staff that make the animal rescue possible, you are angels.

My fiance and I were visiting from KC. We visited Jacob's Cave! It was great! The employees told us there was a dog on the property dumped awhile back and that we could take it if wed like too. Small little female brindle, pup. She was extremely thin, and had over hundred ticks on her. She was in horrible shape. However, so sweet and loving. We could not leave this poor dog. I called two rescues....praying that someone would take her in. This rescue was AMAZING. They said we could bring her in. We brought the dog right away to the rescue. They took her, and didn't even charge us for dropping hee off. Thank you so much for taking this sweet pup. We are grateful for rescues like this.

My sister had picked up a couple of kittens from a person at a Walmart parking lot. I was visiting with her and her daughter and 3 year old son who during this time found out the 3 year old is autistic and couldn't be nice to the kittens. I was scheduled to stay with them for a few weeks and had grown attached to the kittens but knew I couldn't keep them. The staff graciously took the girls in under the circumstances. My heart was broken. Unexpectedly a few days later my visit had to come to an end. I wanted one of the kittens back and called them to see if they still had the girls. They did! I talked to Angie, the manager, and told her the situation and how I wanted my Punky Brewster kitten back ( the other one is Skittles). She graciously agreed to giving me back Punky! I was overjoyed and was scheduled to pick her up the next day. The next morning I called Angie to let her know when I would be there and she told me she had some bad news. They had tried to separate the sister kittens but all they did was cry for each other. My heart broke for the kittens. Angie asked if I would be willing to take both of them back. Ofcourse I couldn't say no. She said there would be no charge as it would be a return to owner situation. I was thrilled! I was expecting to have to pay to get atleast Punky back. When I arrived to get my babies back Angie was very sweet and helpful in filling out all the paperwork and very grateful to me in accepting both babies back. I was short on funds and it would be 24hrs before I headed back home 3 hours away. I asked her if they would be able to give me some food and litter for them and she said yes! I was so grateful! After reading the paperwork I realized that the babies had already seen the Vet and they had given them their first shots and all of this was FREE! My heart was filled with love for these people and their organization! I agreed to have them both spayed and other shots given to them with my veterinarian by the specified time, ofcourse. We spay and neuter all our animals and love them as our children. Angie and all the staff at Ozarks Kat & K9 are EXTRAORDINARY people! They genuinely care about all the animals. You couldn't find a better place to adopt an animal from! Punky Brewster is on the right and Skittles is on the left.

Bought a kitten this shelter had sent to Petco.She has feline leukemia ,gingivitis ,hydrated.No one caught this, leukemia is contagious!I took her to Vet and found this out. Please don’t support a place that does not support their animals. Now we are watching her die in our home. It’s so sad!!!!The vet or us can do nothing for her now. She’s about 7 months old!!!Never mind all the money and time, heartbreak.

Adopted a puppy at 4 months old and he knows how to fetch and sit and play but he incessantly bites and isn't potty trained in the slightest. My question is. How does someone have time to train an animal how to play and fetch but can't walk them on a leash or teach him to potty in a designated area? Hes up to date on literally everything but no one ever bothered to potty train him. For 100$ adoption fee my apartment now needs to be shampooed. We thought we weren't taking him out enough so we moved to every 2 hours and hell per outside and come right in and poop on my floor then run and hide.

This facility offers an important service to the community. They not only have a clinic and Foster animals for adoption but they also provide donated dog and cat food for people who occasionally need help feeding their pet.

Really a nice place to visit. The staff are friendly. The kennel is well kept and clean. The animals that are housed and up for adoptions are treated like royalty.Many treasures to look at if you're shopping.

My family has adopted 3 cats from this place and watched all 3 die before our eyes and we spent 2,500.00 on trying to save these baby's do not adoubt from this shelter unless you want to be heartbroken over and over they do not screen for disease and issues just a turn and burn place the heartbreaking that they have put my family through is unimaginable.....
