The owner was Very nice Very helpful just incredibly all around nice place! Rooms Clean beds Clean and comfortable! I will Definitely be returning next time hopefully for more than just one day!! Not One bad thing to say about the place!!!!!! Week of 4/15/23 I returned few months later and Again Enjoyed my stay Everything is Clean smells clean and fresh! Bed very comfortable nice comfortable pillows there's extra blankets and 3 pillows on each bed. Just Simply Love this place! Everyone I've met or talked to very helpful very polite!!!!

I stayed in the campground overnight. Pros: The owner, Ron, was very friendly and helpful. Each site had a gravel pad, picnic table and fire ring. The campground was clean. It is in an excellent location near the lake and state park. Cons: When I arrived at my site, the picnic table was sitting in the middle of the gravel pad blocking my way. I had to get out and move it myself in order to park. The campground was VERY dark. I had planned to be on the road before daylight, but because there were no lights in the campground I would not have been able to unhook safely. I would recommend this campground.

We popped into the store to see what they offered for food, snacks ice etc, just getting an overall idea of where to stop for supplies while our large group is camping nearby.I went to purchased a single item and did not realize the sign on the computer monitor reads "minimum purchase on card is $5". I had already handed Mary my card before seeing the sign, and before I could say anything, she ran my card while verbally shaming me for "passing on costs" to them.Here's the thing...I would have happily spent a couple bucks more if I had known the minimum purchase amount before Mary ran my card and made me feel awful for her choice to not enforce her own rule.Will not return, and we have let our entire camping group know to avoid this spot.No thank you, Mary.

Don’t go here if you have bad luck. Planned on staying there two nights in a cabin. It already seemed a little over priced to me. Well the next morning we had a family emergency and had to leave so we went to check out and explained the situation and asked for a refund for the second night since we would not be there. She was rude and said “sorry it states that cabins are a 2 night minimal on the site”. I told her no it doesn’t and she pretty much says I’m SOL. Would not recommend and will never be going here again. $160 for one night down the drain.

The women running the kitchen tonight, Friday May 14, need to learn how to read orders right. My mom ordered 2 pigpens and a loaded nachos. One pigpen was w/o sour cream and it has sour cream. The other one was pigpen with everything but was suppose to pineapple bar be que sauce but instead she put pineapple chunks on it. The loaded nachos had hardly any cheese and very greasy. Then my mom went back to complain and was told by Mary that she is no longer welcome there, ever. Well I personally think Mary could of reimburse my mom for the food. I thought the Customer is always right. Sorry but this is no way to run a business.

I have stayed here several times for a church conference that we have close to this location. I always have a wonderful experience here. The folks that own this place have always been very customer considerate. I would recommend this place to anyone for any type of stay. Anyone that has a bad experience is because they where not trying to work with the staff here. They are a very fair priced place and I prefer this place over any of the hotels locally. The folks are family friendly!

Even though we didn't stay there, we thought staff was super friendly, accomadating and helpful which was great!! Fishing pond was cool and people were catching some fish too!

I just came from here and let me say it was terrible our room smelled like wet dog and the people working at the general store were very anti friendly they didn't seem to care at all also don't order the biscuits and gravy, it's not what you think it's canned gravy and they charge like $1 per biscuit, the people also sold us minnows which appeared to be alive.... for like 5 minutes after we got them. There was crusty food on some of the plates from previous renters, and some dishes were left unclean. Overall if I was to ever come back to Mark Twain Lake I would definitely not come here to stay, also if you need bait just take your time and go to the junction there's a mini bass pro shop there and you will be impressed. Also beware of thieves in the area, nothing was stolen from my group but I've read other reviews warning of thieves, but I will never come here again, One last thing there is a two day stay minimum so if you stay there and decide to leave after one day like we did they will make you pay for the second day, also I thought of something else the engineer people that operate the lake are taking water out so the water is very murky and hard to fish, my group only caught 3 or 4 small crappie, best of luck to the ones who come here in the future

The SOUTH FORK RESORT 2 day 2 cabin rental experience for my family & friends was outstanding NO PROBLEMS OF ANY KIND . My family & friends all say ( THANK YOU for such a WONDERFUL TIME ) . We also in the future will plan more of these lake trips & utilize SOUTH FORK RESORT for all our needs that they have to offer . THANK YOU from a ~~~ HAPPY CUSTOMER ~~~

This is a great option for fisherman or families especially if you are going to cook your own meals. Not much nearby but very convenient to the South Fork boat ramp. Reasonable prices and managed by very nice people.
