My personal cat, who was not rescued from WOW, got outside. While in the midst of panic, I messaged WOW at 10pm, and was graciously walked through steps to help find him. I can happily report that we did find him! Can't thank WOW enough for all you do for the cats in this community and for the people who love them. Thank you ❤️

I really appreciate what they do, but they don't respond if you enquire about spay/neuter assistance for kittens you foster. I had 6 kittens dumped in a net bag on my friends driveway, all girls, just hoped for a little help spaying them as I intend to foster and place if I can...I am 73 and just needed a little help....

I found a neighbor kid holding a stray kitten and playing with her, with the water hose... absolutely torturing the poor kitten. I stopped him and took the kitten. She looked rough, near death. Watching over whiskers took her in the following day and gave her another chance at life. 10/10 place.

My family and I adopted a cat from WOW and he is wonderful! I don’t have a ton of experience with cats and I felt like the volunteer who contacted me went above and beyond her duties to answer questions , educate us, and she didn’t belittle me or anything like that. They have a process to adopt that may be more thorough or a little different than just picking a cat up- and it is to make sure the adoption is a success! We have dogs in the home and the tips for introduction were really helpful too! I continue to have questions come up and I always feel like I can ask and get the answers I need! We love our new family member and rescuing!! Thank you all for the help from start to finish!!

Watching Over Whiskers made the adoption process so easy. They let me meet as many cats as I wanted, didn't pressure me into making a decision, and gave great advice. They made sure I had everything I needed before the kitties arrived. They even brought toys for them, gave me coupons to help with expenses, and have continued answering all of my questions long after the process was over. WOW really cares for all of these cats. If you are looking for a rescue to adopt from, Watching Over Whiskers is the place to go!

The team at WOW obviously really care about all the cats and kittens that they are looking after. They want to find loving homes for all their cats and it shows. They are super helpful, follow up with you, work to make sure you get the cat that is right for you, and are just all around awesome.I can't thank the team at WOW enough for what they did for us in helping us add two new members to our family.Strongly recommend the team at WOW to anyone that is looking for a cat.

I can't say enough about WOW. These people genuinely care about these little furry sweethearts. I went there to get help with a kitten that needed more milk than mom had, and it was more work than I could handle at this age. They paired my little baby with 2 other kittens in the same predicament and now she has a family. They can grow and learn together and will even be adopted out with at least one of those kittens, hopefully both. I knew when I left that baby there that she would thrive and be loved for the rest of her life, be spayed and have her shots like she should and that goes a long way towards easing my worried mind. They are strict with their background checks and home inspections and won't let a baby get adopted alone nor go to a home that can't be a forever one.It's hard to imagine the thousands of animals euthanized every day because of animals not being spayed or neutered. It's so sad when a little life has to end before it can begin but if animals are properly fixed the problem will gradually decline until someday, with any luck, every fur baby born will have a proper home waiting eagerly to have the love of one or two little critters.Fix your animals and donate whatever you can to these great organizations that operate on a shoe string budget but somehow still stick around to help us out. They have a mostly thankless job except for the smile on the face of a child holding a purring furball. Help where you can. Be a part of the solution, not the problem. Donate time, food, litter, shelters, cat trees, dog toys, and mostly help with expenses to get the medical care necessary so we can stop ending little innocent animals lives. Get involved.

In December I lost my sweet Tortoiseshell after 14 years. It was the most painful hurt I've been through besides losing my dad in May. I had a co-worker that had adopted through Watching Over Whiskers and said it was a great place. After 2 weeks of losing mine I decided to look at their website and found Maddie who looked a lot like mine that I had lost. I decided to apply for her and was contacted by Margaret. This place and the people who volunteer there truly care about the cats they take in. They are treated well and taken care of. Some are placed in foster homes so they can be in a home environment. After about a week I became sweet Maddie's new cat mom. I could not be more pleased with the experience. I would recommend WOW to anyone looking for a well taken care of cat. Thank you Watching Over Whiskers for bringing sweet Maddie into my life!

Watching Over Whiskers is a wonderful cat rescue. They truly care about their cats wellbeing, and want to make sure the adoptions are a perfect fit to ensure a happy transition to a forever home. I adopted two wonderful 9-month old bonded siblings in December that were born under the care of WOW. They have been the best fit possible for my household. These two are very loving and sociable. They are playful, yet not too energetic, since they have each other to play with. WOW has a policy to never break up bonded pairs. If you met these two, you would see why that is!There are plenty of wonderful single cats needing homes that would fit in with other cats (or dogs) already in the home. There are also many cats who prefer to be only kitties that would love a home. Whichever your household needs, there is a kitty to fit!The cost of adoption is extremely reasonable. Fees cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, worming, microchip, and any other needed veterinary care. WOW is a foster based rescue, which helps bring out the personalities of the cats to recognize what home environment is best for them. The headquarters house more cats that foster homes do not have room for. It is very clean, and the cats are well cared for. There are rooms for them to run free in, and toys to play with. The volunteers are top notch and love what they do. The cats definitely have the best vet care for any illnesses that arise. I highly recommend visiting WOW or their adoption events when looking for a kitty to add to your home!

I adopted two kitties from WOW a month ago and it was the best decision ever! My cats came litter trained, vaxxed, and chipped! The staff was also so kind, made sure I had everything I needed to welcome them, and even checked up on me to see how we were doing!! Highly recommend this place!

WOW has been extremely helpful and accommodating through the entire process of adopting a new kitty. They are happy to answer any questions you may have about your new kitty. It’s easy to tell that they love and care for the cats in the shelter as well as in foster homes. Margaret and Kelly have provided me with all the help that I’ve needed for my sweet boy Marley, and even brought us some goodies to help with his transition. I adopted two kittens through WOW in July and had a great experience! The owners and volunteers gave us great advice on getting our home ready for our new babies. They suggested we keep the new kittens in a smaller room and gradually increase their living area so they are not overwhelmed. When they brought the kittens, they checked out the kitten room and made suggestions. They also taught us how to gradually introduce our adult cats to the kittens. We followed their advice and the cats/kittens are all living happily together with no behavior problems.I highly recommend this rescue to anyone interested in adopting a cat or kittens. They are so knowledgeable and will help you find a cat(s) that match your needs and lifestyle (or the needs of your current pets).

I recently chose WOW to add a new member to my family. She is a beautiful little torte girl who is sweet as can be. This rescue is top notch in animal care and welfare. Each kitty is loved and nurtured and given the best chance of success in finding a new family that fits them. The facility is beautiful and clean and I was very impressed how well they are cared for. I recently adopted a wonderful tabby cat from this place. This is probably one of the most clean and organized rescues I have ever been inside. Everyone there takes such good care of the cats inside, and it is obvious that they are well loved and well taken care of. The cat I adopted is a perfect fit with my other one, and they both got along super fast! They have a very detailed adopting process because they want to make sure that these little guys are going to loving homes. Definitely adopt from here, they know what they're doing!

I’ve seen a lot of rescues and shelters and most are not picky about getting animals in and out as quickly and as cheaply as you can. And I understand that, but WOW deals in quality, not quantity. Like all rescues, WOW is overloaded and overwhelmed with cats, but it is the cleanest rescue I’ve been in and yes, I had to jump through some hoops to adopt, but what I got in return was a lot of information, helpful tips, and most importantly, two very healthy and well-socialized cats. I thought about pulling out of the deal, but I’m so glad I didn’t, because the wait was worth it.My cats are fixed, have their shots, have been socialized, and are STILL under a year old! And I love them.

W.O.W is such an amazing organization and I not only recommend it to anyone looking for a cat companion, but to anyone looking for a worthwhile cause to donate their time or money to.I recently decided to add another cat(s) to my family and I've decided to go with WOW for a number of important reasons:1) I know the cats there are treated like kings and queens. Most of their cats are either in loving foster homes or in one of their specially designed "catified" rooms. These multi-cat rooms have tons of perches, hidden cabinet litterboxes for privacy and odor control, water fountains, and even special aromatherapy to keep the cats calm! I didn't know that was a thing before my visit. I even met a cat there who had lupus and was provided a custom diet/treatment for optimum health.2) They aren't just trying to get cats out the door. I fostered kittens for a shelter in Springfield that does not vet adopters and one of my kittens ended up in a very bad situation. WOW does the opposite of that! They vet adopters AND help them set up the best environment possible for their new home. I know 2 other people who found their cats at WOW and both still have strong relationships with the shelter and ask questions/get tips if they need it.3) It's a professional organization making a huge impact. WOW takes on some of the toughest and most tragic cases around. For example, when I visited last month they were working with a paralyzed kitten who had a bullet lodged in her spine. I also know they have gotten kittens through FIP treatment, which is particularly difficult and expensive. It used to be a death sentence. I feel so inspired by the work they do that I plan on volunteering with them next time I'm in town.Genuinely so impressed with the love, care, and cleanliness of WOW. I can't wait to pick up my new cat baby from them :)

Watching Over Whiskers is a wonderful organization of tireless people totally dedicated to helping the lives of cats whose lives have taken a wrong turn. I was so impressed with the vetting process; they are not only focused on placing cats, they are equally focused on finding the right homes. They were kind enough to let me come in and meet my Angie without an appointment, and the rest is history. It was love at first sight. They made sure all her medical issues were taken care of before delivering her to me ( her right eye was badly injured and infected and had to be surgically removed) and brought starter food, toys and some medication that she needed to finish taking.I can't give more than 5 stars but would if I could. Their seamless dedication not only completely turns around the lives of the felines, it enhances the lives of the people adopting them as well.Bravo, W.O.W.

We were so excited to adopt our sibling kittens, Teddy and Ellie, from Watching Over Whiskers. We are extremely grateful to WOW for the smooth transition from the foster home to our home. The founder, Marci lovingly delivered the kittens to our home, including starter food, toys and even a playpen to borrow to contain the babies until we were comfortable for them to roam the house. WOW is always available to us if were have any questions and they always have the answers. I can't say enough about the founder and volunteers of this non-for-profit organization. They work tirelessly to save so many kittens and adult cats. From rescuing, vetting, fostering and caring for so many helpless and homeless felines..I highly recommend Watching Over Whiskers for anyone who has the desire and the love to give a cat or kitten or two. We have found adopting siblings is wonderful! They have a special bond and we could never imaging them being apart. THANK YOU WATCHING OVER WHISKERS!!!

Watching Over Whiskers (WOW) is a wonderful cat rescue! Each foster cat is treated like members of a family. They carefully consider adoption applicants to ensure the cats will be well cared for after leaving WOW. Our cat (adopted from WOW) was rescued from under a dumpster near a restaurant on a busy street in Springfield. WOW nursed her back to health so she could be adopted, and I’ll always be grateful for that since she is now a part of our family! WOW’s mission of rescuing cats and placing them in loving and caring homes is a worthy cause and it is a great organization!

I adopted a wonderful cat from Watching Over Whiskers (WOW) in Springfield, Mo about a month ago. I have adopted cats from numerous shelters in Ark, OK, MO, KS and LA over the years and WOW is the cleanest, and most cat friendly facility I have been into. They have 2 or 3 cat rooms with plenty of clean litter boxes for the 8 cats in each room. There were a few roomy kennels, similar to the ones at Petsmart outside of the main cat rooms with litter boxes and food/water stations, along with some obviously well cared for and friendly kittys that had plenty of room. There were several volunteers there caring for the cats and it was obvious they loved what they were doing.Their adoption application process was so thoughtful and geared toward finding their cats homes that will be forever, and they try to match the cat and potential adopter and what the person adopting the cat expects or wants, as opposed to just trying to move a large number of cats.I drove over 5 hours after we finished the application process and was so impressed with the whole WOW organization. I adopted an adult cat that they had rescued from a situation that could have resulted in him being euthanized at a different shelter. He received excellent vet care and WOW spent over 2 months rehabbing him back to health to be ready to find a forever home. This is another rare and outstanding thing they do that most other shelters can’t……they take in cats and even tiny kittens that need medical and/or surgical services and give them a chance at life.When I got to Springfield and walked into WOW’s clean and bright cat area I knew I had made a wise choice and the long drive and overnight in a hotel were totally worth it. The volunteers who were at WOW were a great bonus.

Watching Over Whiskers is a fantastic cat rescue organization, and the new facility is absolutely amazing!! The founder gives WOW her all, along with great volunteer support. Cats are fostered, and therefore, their individual personalties are known which makes placement into their new home very successful. I have two daughters who have adopted from WOW, and the kitties are a perfect fit for them!

We adopted our first pair of kittens almost three years ago. The process was simple and thorough. Almost two years ago, we decided to foster another pair of kittens. We fell in love with them and adopted them too! I appreciated how WOW made sure we were the right family for all of them.
