I never realized how nice this store was on the inside, or just how much stuff there was!Also, I called and went in looking for a wall adapter to allow me to plug a 3 prong power cord into an older 2-prong outlet, and they were super helpful. Especially the young lady working the register, who was super sweet.Definitely will be back to irresponsibly explore/spend when I can afford to. Lol.

Not what I expected for the helpful hardware folks? Just trying to get supplies to paint my kitchen and dining room. Had to flag someone down for help. He seemed to know less than me and really somewhat reluctant to help. I'm not a painter and thought I could get a little help there as last year I was greeted with helpful people. Not anymore. You're on your own there. It's like getting help at Walmart. Bummer for my wasted time there.

Bought a Stihl 251 chainsaw for just over $420, Had to come back because they didn't have the correct sharpening file. I can't use their restroom while I'm there??? I left my items. You just lost a good customer.

I go to Ace hardware for my small hardware needs (fasteners etc.) 2weeks ago I bought some stainless steel hose clamps that were so flimsy that they strip out before they even get tight, zip ties that were so brittle that they broke on tightening, and today a heavy duty screw in hook that snapped half way through installing it all were Ace Hardware brand. Add the fact that the new employees are very impersonal and I'm not having much motivation to shop there anymore.

I went to this Ace hardware store and when I tell you it was nothing but rudeness from the time I walked through the door till I left after spending all my hard earned money. I was so sad that the cashier was so rude I had to tell the manager that this was my first and last time at this store. The cashier act as if she just didn't want to answer any questions or just didn't want to answer any questions from me. I just got very nasty vibes from her. So this was my first visit and definitely my last. Money is to hard to come by to spend it at a place with horrible customer service 👎🏾👎🏾what happened to (Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks) BS

I like this place a lot and they have a great selection of various items. The home decor and fishing stuff is a great touch. It's like they know what guys want but have things for the wives to look at while husbands' shop. Well done.

Very helpful and knowledgable staff... The store is nice also with isleways that are clean and clear... The shelves are well stocked with all your household diy, handyman/maintenance services, and contractor needs... And the prices are reasonable... I always hear that Ace Hardware store's are way more expensive but not at Cowan's Ace Hardware. It's family owned business that gives you that Main Street small town hardware store feeling remember your name when they say hello to you when you walk in. Just a really good hardware store all around.

Nice local small hardware store that has the parts and if I need advice they can find someone , prices are on average too slightly higher than a big box store but you're going there specifically to not go to a big box store so let's be real , you know that the prices are a little higher and are expecting to pay a little more to avoid the ruder more condescending big box store that know more about what you're working on than you do but not the experience right so you know what you're walking in to

Basically have what I look for, have to remind them for my military discount, , one thing I don't like , for example, buying a stupid bucket one day for 4.00 one day a few days later doubled, gotta pay separately for the lid, not posted that way.

I love this store! It has everything for the home or garden. The gift items they carry are gorgeous. Hunting, fishing, inside or out, whatever it is...they probably have it! And the kids that work there are delightful. Every time I go in, there is somebody asking if I need help. They may be a little higher price on some things than the big box places, but the service makes up it!!

Every time i come in they follow me through the store. Stopping me every few minutes to ask if I need any help but really it feels like they are following me to see if I'm stealing. There is usually someone standing At the end of the aisle pretending to talk to someone who isn't there. I own my own plumbing company and will not be coming back. They made the shopping experience uncomfortable for me more than once.

While store an merchandise was nice. The employees were a different story. I understand store security an I understand that new requirements of everyone wearing face masks makes security a greater concern. However following a customer around an even following them outside, staring at them the entire time they shop is a little uncalled for

Like most of the establishments in Springfield proper or the City of Springfield employers and employees are singling out anybody who walks through the doors and making them out as thieves I mean that we spent probably $160 at this place in the whole time we were followed by four to five men all the way up until we're walking out the doorThe uncomfortability of this is just sky-high and I I can't give this place a thumbs-up because of it. More override you have to give them a thumbs down and I would not suggest going to this place for any purchase of any hardware or anything really unless you're comfortable being followed and chastise like you've already done something wrong when your about to drop $200 or more

I love this place!! Employees are very helpful and friendly. They have the products I need and want. Prices are a little higher then bigger stores but the wonderfulness of everything else more then makes up for it.

The employees followed us around the whole time from the moment we walked in the door. They treated us like we were stealing. Finally when we were ready to check out they followed us all the way to the register. We put our items on the register and an employee just stood there stalking us. We ended up just leaving without what we needed because of their attitude and harassment.

Frequent Cowan's on a regular basis. Like to go there. Staff always seems to find a way to resolve my issues. If they do knit have what I am looking for. There is always a second option (usually less expensive than what I came for). My job requires that I have a resolve for every situation I confront. Our customers expect excellence. With a support system like this and the effort this group of professionals put for to make sure I have the parts I need to complete my job. Can see why they stay in business. Thank you for the hometown make sure it is taken care of attitude. Makes my job easier. I will be back.

Will definitely be a repeat customer. I had a shaky start as a cashier didn't file all the proper paper work when I first brought my weedeatter in but management went above and beyond to fix the mistake and took great care of us. I felt valued and comfortable with the staff. Thank you for the great customer service.

Worst customer service experience ever! Bought a new Stihl Chainsaw Chain. Wouldn't let me use there screw driver to put it on there at 1st, them finally let me and stood there and watched me the whole time. Then as I was getting finished they treated me like I wasn't going to pay for it. Like I begin with. Worse customer service provider ever. And I am not a very hard person to please!!!

Very very good and helpful people who work here. I went in 10min before closing and was needing help with pipe fittings for my tub. They went above and beyond to help me. I would tell everyone I know go here first they will do all they can to help and if they don't have it they will tell you where to get it. 🤗😀🤗😀

They had what I needed but made me feel like a thief when I walk through the door. Somebody met me at the door and escorted me through the building to make sure that I didn't steal anything. Everything is locked down and they watch you everywhere you go. He even escorted me all the way back to the cash register to make sure I purchased the product that I had gotten. It's just a really weird feeling when you walk into a store and they are all over you. And everything on the shelves is lockdown. And can't understand why you would be in business if you were that worried about your business. I can't think of how much money it would cost to have enough people inside of the store to escort everybody who walks through it. But the one good thing I can say is they had the product that I needed at a reasonable price.

Pretty nice selection of fasteners! The pair of muck boots I am buying for my wife are $20 less at Cowan, than Orscheln's farm store. And the selection is better. I had an associate offer help in the hardware section.....that was nice.
