Extremely trashy. The people that run it are a mess. They are shady and have their law enforcement friends harass people with no rhyme or reason, besides not liking the fact they were turned down. Michael had my late fiance harassed by his police friends (he stated they were friends) to the point of my fiance committing suicide in Camden county. They lied to him and harassed him. They couldn’t make the fake story stick so they got him for something minor , a late child support payment. Most don’t get arrested for that these days, right? He was set to be released the day after he hung himself. Instead he was harassed repeatedly as we both had been the day prior. Never once told that he was being extradited and released, instead told they were pinning him for fake made up stuff that Michael threw out there, including me also being in jail and I never was. I don’t have a record, nor did they ever have a reason to arrest me. People don’t do what he did in custody over child support when being released. They tried to pin him for fake made up stuff and I asked for a tape they claimed to have they never had. So they came back the next day over child support. 🤦🏼♀️ The person actually stealing from the campground that Michael Kunz handed a key to, the old worker that he hired and let into the office is the thief. They knew that. In fact, this same person was arrested in a different state for this reason not once but several times surrounding this time period. I’m finally strong enough to speak out. Sorry, I didn’t find you attractive enough for you to leave my family alone, Michael. Maybe pay the same attention to your wife and kids as you tried to pay to me and my family. This place is a joke. Not only that THEY stole several items of ours as our camper sat over that first night before I got it out after he was arrested the next day. They told us it was on their property so they could do whatever.

I loved it here. The owner was very nice and easy to talk to. The sites were large and the trees were many for shade on the site. I also noticed it was beautifully landscaped. That's one thing that always bugs me about campgrounds. All this land and no flowers or anything. This place has some nice landscaping and beautiful plants placed around. It wasn't a garden or anything but you could tell effort was put in and I liked that. Keep up the great work!

I’m traveling from OK to WV in a 27 year old class A motor home with my elderly, disabled mom and we have had one problem after another pop up. The one bright spot on this trip so far has been our stay at this KOA. It was my first time staying at a KOA, and Luiz was super helpful! Not only did he get us safely set up at 11:30 pm (we had engine problems and arrived late), but he went above and beyond several times throughout our stay to help us out. He was always very friendly with a positive attitude. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely return.

Good location for lake activites. We happend to stop on a bike rally week. Lots of rumble! Good wiFi, supper clean bathrooms, outside activities like checker and chess board, pool. Entrance is on a really busy highway, be patient. Our initial site 11 was really uneven, we could not get level no matter what but we were able to move to another site 31. Gravel sites. Some trees for shade. Very friendly staff.

This is a very nice KOA just off Hwy 54 near Lake of the Ozarks. The sites are all well shaded with mature trees. There are a number of very nice deluxe patio sites. The shower rooms and bathrooms are clean and and very nice with tiled floors and walls and air conditioned. The pool is good size and well kept. There is newer playground equipment for the kids. There are some very unique cabins. The staff was friendly, however they are short staffed and you may not always be able to get in touch with someone, especially after hours. The only caveat is that the roads through the park are a little rough. We will definitely be back.Playground: Very nice updated playground equipment. Restrooms: Very clean nicely decorated with tiled floors and walls. The bathrooms are clean and air conditioned. Dog-friendliness: Yes, very dog friendly. A small shaded fenced in dog park is in the park.Picnic area: Every site has a picnic table.

Great stay! LUIS is the man! Checked on us a few times since we were first timers. Showers are very nice. Forgot to check the laundry facilities, but wife says they do the job. Pool was refreshing, be sure to bring water toys/floaties. Nice basic playground with gaga ball (or whatever its called) for the kids with a horseshoe pit in between perfect for throwing shoes and watching the kids. Nights were quiet with some highway noise. Close to Walmart down the road South, has all your needs covered. Spend the money and go to Pancake House breakfast quesidilla is perfect for morning breakfast at the KOA. Would love to come back someday.Nearby activities: Hiking trail, pool, game room, playground, gaga ball, horseshoe pit, outdoor large chess, checkers and two bowling lanesWalkability: Dirt paths

The campground is not motorcycle friendly due to the way it is set up. One of the employees was in a accident that involve my husband on his motorcycle. Most of the staff were very friendly. The campground was very dog friendly. The showers were surprisingly clean the pool was great there was a game room that my kids enjoyed. However it was very dusty in the campsites. We camp alot and for me to say it was dusty it was bad. I would go back but not on bike week or riding.

Nice wooded place with quite a few trees for shade. The trees look to be around 50’ and could be 30 yrs old or so. Wifi works well. I’m in spot #10 and there is a nice fire pit, picnic table, charcoal grill, and bench. The site is on a pretty good incline and the backside is next to a wooded area that goes a couple hundred yards before you can see any other structures. I posted some photos of the sewage and water that they are repairing in the adjacent site. The sewer connection runs up hill before it goes into the main line. It goes into a tee where code in any city would require a wye. The water line is running right next to it in the same trench—code violation in most areas. If sewer water gets into the water line, you could become very sick. I wouldn’t consider the water potable. The people that work here are very nice and helpful. For $20 they delivered a nice pile of firewood. It was dry and pretty thick. You need a hatchet to split it smaller. The shower/bathroom looks newly tiled and is clean. They can refill propane tanks. Super WalMart center is only 3 miles away as well as a Taco Bell, Sonic, and McDonalds. At night, you can hear highway sounds, as it is right off highway 54. The sites are pretty spread out comparatively. You can hear many different kind of birds singing, including woodpeckers. No mosquitoes so far. The ground is very rocky and it would be hard to tent camp. Had a visit from a raccoon in the middle of the night. His name is Kevin and they say he’s friendly.

Good, cheap place to stay in the Lake of the Ozarks. Good pool, playground, and activities. We only stayed one night at a tent site, but it was a nice site and the staff (specifically Louis) were nice and hospitable. The pool was nice and wasn’t too busy. It’s relatively close to pretty much anything you’d want to do down at the lake!

I originally chose this campground because of its proximity to dog days and backwater jacks. Having never been, I didn’t know what to expect. Having now been, here’s what I can say. Management is extremely friendly and accommodating. The bathroom / shower facilities are the nicest of any campground I’ve EVER been to. You can visibly tell that staff cares for the grounds, all the way down to the little details. Bathrooms are provided with bath mats for the showers and there are codes to get into both male and female restrooms for safety purposes. Camp sites are wooded, spacious, and private. Safe and quiet atmosphere for a great weekend getaway. Ma and pop type feeling. If you like supporting local businesses, I highly recommend checking out KOA. We will definitely be back!

Very accommodating. Very nice and clean, quiet campground. We rent a mobile home on site. Was also very clean and had running water and a full kitchen. Had towels and sheets. Some dishes, enough to cook small meals. Did have coffee, no sugar or cream. Had hot chocolate. Did not have cooking spray, salt, butter etc. Which was fine, we ran to Walmart. Just and FYI. Had fire wood for purchase on site. Very clean and bare. Was a fantastic price. Would come here again.

Very clean, very friendly, the employees were kind beyond need. We enjoyed our stay in the new cabin and will absolutely return as often as possible. We have camped here in the past in our camper. We have truly enjoyed this KOA each and every time. And I'm picky. Thank you for a great time!!

We arrived at the facility during normal business hours and the office was closed due to lack of staff. We were one of the only campers there and they placed us at the front entrance, practically in the road, next to a barking dog. We ended up calling to change locations and the staff was extremely rude. The kids enjoyed the playground and the bathrooms were nice. However, the campground was full of stray cats and the highway was extremely loud. Such a dissapointment.

Elk Cabin we are staying in is DIRTY!!! Says it sleeps 6 people, yet only has some random sheet for 4. No blankets. Pulled out the hide-a-bed and it had crumbs all over the wrinkled sheets, a very old stained mattress, and unusable. Totally disappointed.Camp ground is nice, pool felt great, and we had fun while being outside.

Great communication from the management prior to our arrival. Clean, cozy, adorable brand new cabin. Sheets and towels were included. Complimentary snacks and beverages provided. Staff met us at our arrival and escorted us to the cabin. Super comfy bed and pillows. Tastefully decorated in outdoorsy theme. Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Amazing KOA! THE BATHROOM!!! 😍😍😍 it was heaven!!! So nice. Everyone who works there is super friendly. Luis delivered us firewood one night, which was awesome! We had a RV site with a patio and fire pit which we got a lot of use out of! We used the pool which was amazing and hiked on the paths in the woods. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

Management is wonderful. Lori was very understanding regarding an emergency we had prior to our stay and they were very accommodating. Great customer service. Only complaint was that there were times that it took multiple days to reach them regarding the reservation and booking, and the representative that booked us booked us for the wrong day.

Everything was clean and well maintained. Strong WiFi signal throughout the camp grounds. They were able to accommodate our 45ft long fifth wheel and two trucks. For other longer rigs, I would just caution that if the campground is busy it could be difficult to maneuver. The staff helped ensure we had the needed clearance. Thanks to that staff for make our stay peaceful and worry free and we are looking forward to going back.

Super clean restrooms and showers. Staff is very friendly and extremely helpful! Sites were spacious but be aware roads in and out are not surfaced just take it slow. The campgrounds are very nicely shaded. The park is in lane of the ozarks but not on or near the lakes. Will need a second vehicle to access the lakes and or swimming beaches.

This is a newly labeled KOA and previously operated under a different name. The bathrooms are really nice, probably the nicest of any campground we have visited, and the only reason it gets 3 stars. They did a really nice job with those. Other than that, not great. The campground is on a hill. It is heavily treed. The roads are gravel and rough. Most of the sites are not level. There are some nice sites, but those appeared to be rented monthly. There are a few mobile homes in and around the perimeter of the campground, and a camper storage place. We had no wifi at all at our site. The cable was grainy and virtually unusable. The playground was something, but old, muddy (not their fault), and the grass needed to be mowed. The pool appeared nice, but we didn't use it. I plugged in my surge protector and it gave a red light warning. I then had to use a different electric box, and had no issues. I reported the electrical issue, but was sort of blown off and I never saw anyone come check it out. Their dumpster was overflowing. I asked if they came around to pick up trash and the lady acted like I was crazy. Every KOA we have stayed at comes around to pick up your trash in the morning. She said no campground does that. It was certainly not like the other KOA's we have stayed- no workers out and about and the staff acted like we were a burden. We may go back, but I doubt it unless they continue to make some improvements. We would certainly first look for other options.

Not a happy camper. I haven’t been so close to my neighbor at a campground ever. Their slide out was a couple of feet from our awning at best. They couldn’t open their storage doors without being on our rug. Frustrating for them and us. So many large RVs and buses crammed in, it even overloaded their power and that was shut down. A few spaces taken out would be an improvement. Would never go back and don’t recommend it.
