We saw this place on TV a few years ago with Paula Dean's sons on their travel show. We finally decided to go here on our trip back from our daughter's in St Louis. It's a little off the beaten path 12 miles outside of Hermann Missouri in the town of Swiss Missouri. It was well worth the drive. Besides all the different types of Brats and sausages they have a butcher shop and curio shop. You can even sample some of the smoked meats and have lunch at the little diner inside. There is a little something for everyone here and the folks are very friendly and helpful.

They have an amazing selection! We were looking for a specific product and they called the company for us and got us another distributor closer to where we live, amazing customer service! Not in the area often but definitely stopping in again next time!

The ladies were very friendly and a lot of fun to talk with. We loved all the samplings they offered and we had a sandwich there for lunch. It was very tasty.

We stopped by to sample some brats and were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff .. They treated us like family .. My husband made a comment that they must love their jobs .. We ended up having lunch there and enjoyed very much. You can’t leave without trying some of the 1836 Root-beer and the Honey ice cream!!

It is a wonderful place to shop and the staff is awesome and knowledgable. They are open Monday through Saturday 9-5 and closed on Sundays. They are also closed closed for all of the Major holidays. Family owned and operated since 1969.

Wish I could give less than one star but I can’tProduct is ok or about the same from all the other butchers if ur getting animals butchers usda or custom but Swiss is lacking a lot in the customer service area and it’s sad to say but2021 they lost or reservation for animals2022 they lost one of our whole animals that were droped off Sunday afternoon like instructed2023 LAST chance I went in just before Christmas to pick up our finnished products and just poor quality processing and not how I ordered so we won’t be back with any of our animals and I will tell anyone who asks for recommendations on processing about my experience hereWhen I ask why I only got my ground pork (this time 3 hogs) made one way and not decided and finnished 3 different flavors like I ordered I was once again told I don’t see that in my notes and I got what I gotWe will never be back to Swiss meats they r not even close to being quality anything and I’m not sure how they even keep a license for business let alone USDAThey r a joke

We have made the short trip to Swiss when staying in Hermann a few times. I think the Krakow alone is worth it! Good selection of meats, jerky, and sausages, as well as some sweets, and a sandwich menu as well.

Good meats, good food, good God do yourself a favor and stop here! Seriously, you won’t regret it. The lunches are phenomenal. Every meat we’ve ever bought was insanely delicious and great quality. We make a trip from KC at least twice a year to stock up. Would highly recommend the cottage bacon, the baby back ribs, and the Hawaiian sausage & meat sticks.

This hidden gem is worth whatever drive you may have to take to get there. If you are to find yourself in the Hermann area for a visit though you should definitely make that short trip. There is a deli, samples galore, and some of the best quality meats you will find in the state. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful as well. At one time I was driving almost 1.5 hours just to buy their amazing Elk Summer Sausage.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch today. We both ordered the special ($5.50) which was grilled cheese (made with two different cheeses) and choice of soup. We had the stuffed pepper soup (broth base) and cowboy soup (creamy base); both were delicious! The Soup Lady (Jan) knows her stuff! All staff were friendly and helpful. Facility was extremely clean and welcoming. Before we departed, we took advantage of the Buy 4 - Get 1 Free and stocked up on homemade sausage and brats. Thank you for the all-around great experience! Happy New Year to you all!

A wonderful shop that is worth the drive. I have visited this store on dozens of different stock up journeys and they never fail to amaze me with the wide variety of meat products that are available there.The facility is first class, always neat and clean and the staff is always happy and engaging.Bring a couple of coolers to haul your purchases home because one cooler may not be enough.

I had meats prepared for my wedding, and oh my I wasn't disappointed. I bought 15 portions of chicken breast which we cut in half because of how huge the chicken breasts were. 15 1/2inch sliced pork steaks and 15 burgers. All for $106.01. Very friendly service. I will be looking to purchase again soon. Thank you Swiss meats for helping to make our day special.

Let's just say fabulous to start! 65 different varieties of brats! I've only tried about a dozen or so, but WOW! Several chicken brat varieties as well. I love the Chicken, Bacon Ranch Brat and the Chicken Tomato Basil Brat! Produced with fresh, quality meats and made onsite! Worth the trip!

I was out for a drive yesterday & decided to stop in & see what kind of meats they sell. I had no idea that we could get curbside delivery for lunch. The food was delicious! And if the service is this good curbside, I can't wait to go back whenever the social distancing is over. Staff were all friendly and amazing. Wonderful place!

Fantastic selection! Never saw so many options anywhere. They had samples of nearly all cold cut meats, and about about ten of the brats, sausages, etc. that you cook or heat up. Based on the samples I tasted their product is very good. Went in thinking I would buy a couple items, left with enough meat to feed a family of four for a week!

I visited for the first time on 5.4.19. I had never heard of this place but my brother and his family wanted to introduce me to the best meats ever. Oh my goodness, they had samples of so many different flavored meats. I had no idea how good freshly prepared meat could be. It's not processed or filled with fillers. Ok, so I am African American and I felt a little nervous because I was way out in the country where you don't see many people that look like me. I was nervous that I would be looked at funny or not welcomed. I was dead wrong. These great set of folks were so kind, engaging, conversational and welcoming. The only color we saw was the finely cooked, smoked meats. The daughter of the owners explained the history behind some of the samples. It was so amazing. I bought 3 package of brats( Hot brats, bacon n cheese, pizza brats) My son fell in love with the bacon/cheese brat. We didn't eat the pizza brat yet but I plan on cooking that tonight. This place offers hot foods and you can buy a whole or half of a cow/ pig. Check out this awesome place. The 1.5 hour drive is worth it to me! All are welcome!

Swiss Meats catered my daughter's wedding in Hermann. From their food to their service the experience was excellent. They set up a private tasting, answered any and all questions, provided information to guide us through the entire process and packages left overs to take home and enjoy all over again.
