First time here & I'll definitely be back! Went for Christmas, had a 3 story cabin to ourselves. You have to be your own maid, but it's off season for Echo Bluff so I'm sure that had something to do with it. Beautiful scenery, balcony has a gorgeous view as well. Echo Bluff Lodge food is pretty amazing too. Thankful for the experience & we will be back!

Camp Host was very helpful. Showers and bathrooms were clean. Beautiful views and trails. Wild horses come through the grounds. One of the quietest campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at. I was there for a wedding at the pavilion . A beautiful spot. The reception at the motel. More beautiful views. Friendly staff. Great food. I must come back for a few days of hiking. Oh the horses showed up at the wedding also.Food & drinks: As In my comment food was great. Coffee in the gift shop was also.

We chose this state park because they had showers/water in the off season. The campground was very well managed! Showers and bathrooms were open as expected and very clean, cleaned every day we were there. Both shower and bathrooms could use more hooks for holding towels/clothing but that's the worst. Saw the wild horses but weren't bothered by them. Also had an opossum and deer right by our camp at night. Heard some good birds calling if you're into birding. Camp hosts routinely patrolled the area but it was very quiet overall. I appreciated the recycling bags provided! There was also Wifi provided in the campgrounds even though there was no cell service.Nearby activities: Hiked Painter Ridge. The full 2 miles (both loops) took under the estimated time. It was a mostly level hike with hills and valleys around.Safety: Don't feed the wild animals (horses).Walkability: The campgrounds/bathrooms were super walkable, concrete that barely had hairline cracks.Noteworthy details: No cell service but the campground did provide free wifi. Showers/water available in winter season

Another 5-Star review? YES! My wife and I got married here in the fall of 2023 and it was a magical long-weekend enabled by the wonderful staff at the Echo Bluff. All of our guests complimented the venue, with one elderly couple from Indiana claiming it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to. It's hard to dispute when you have wild horses in the field hours after you get married or visiting your Dress Rehearsal BBQ at the Blufftop Pavilion. I can't say enough positive things about the whole experience and I can't wait to spend many more wonderful weekends here.

Recently enjoyed a weekend at Echo Bluff Lodge. It’s a newer addition to the Missouri State Park system, but it’s a great addition. The bluff behind the lodge is amazing and Sinking Creek is a nice setting for wading, strolling, picnicking or just enjoying nature. The lodge is set so many of the rooms have balconies that look out to the bluff. They are clean and new and well maintained. The park is a bit distant from “civilization”; Eminence is the closest town. But that doesn’t matter, because you should be going to the park to enjoy the outdoors. The lodge has a restaurant. Our room had a small fridge and microwave. There is no cell service; but the lodge has wi fi. The service was great, very friendly and helpful and nice. There’s a fire pit behind the lodge for use by guests. Wood was provided along with plenty of paper and lighter to start it. About the only complaint for the lodge is the low flow shower heads. We didn’t camp, however the campground doesn’t look like our kind of place. Very open, lacks trees and shade. Definitely not a tent camping campground. Overall it’s a great park.Updated review (2023-11); spent Thanksgiving weekend in one of the cabins. They are very nice and roomy. Wonderful fireplace in the living room that we used both nights there. Deck on the back had a grill and deck furniture and a well furnished kitchen; but not quite the view as the lodge/hotel. All the staff was very friendly. Again about the only negative is the low flow showers. I would recommend the cabin if you need the room or feel like cooking instead of eating out.

This is a popular place to get away and stay at a very nice lodge. There is a very good restaurant in the lodge as well.Camping is also available for those that want to camp. One additional note - if there is an event at the lodge like a wedding be advised that portions of the lodge including the lobby, the deck, restaurant and banquet rooms may be unavailable to use for as long as the event lasts. Good to ask about any events taking place during your potential stay.

We used the park as a picnic then you we didn’t stay in the campground, but for a relatively isolated park, I was amazed at the new excellent facilities. On the Sunday we had a whole sheltered table area to ourselves. We enjoyed a scrumptious lunch made by us and enjoyed the green scenery. Definitely a great place to stop when your journey around is around the southeast of Missouri. I just wondered where all of people were?

We needed a short family getaway. Echo Bluff State Park provided just what we needed. The Lodge at Echo Bluff was a great place to stay. Our suite was one of the double king suites. It was clean and comfortable. The tub was perfect for a soak. On our way out we even got to see one of the wild horse herds. Good times!Nearby activities: Carr's Canoe Rental picked us up right out front for a Friday float. They brought us right back after the float was over.Food & drinks: The lodge has a nice restaurant that we used twice.Noteworthy details: Nice walking trails and the stream to play in was a great way to keep busy.

NO SHADE! They made a huge mistake plowing down trees here. Small area for most to get to water but Campers have to drive to it. We found a trail to water but it was a trek. Lodge is new and nice but Campers don't have much use for it. 4 showers only and dated even though Facility only 7 years old. Water pressure strong- hurts strong. Showers clean. Paved sites, mostly level. We've camped all over and this is in our bottom two. Give me dirt and shade over pavement and blazing sun. Water is cool and made it bearable. Only saving grace. Staff is very friendly and everything is clean. It's about a 30 min drive to town on curvy roads.

Actually this is my first camping site in united states. Experience was so thrilling. Nature was awesome, the view was fascinating in-between the mountains, hills and river. River voices are neat in peaceful environment. Wild horses came middle of the night scared me but I watched them silently. They don't harm anyone but just came and eat our whole food from bench. Definitely worth to spend your weekend with family and friends. Too many things to explore cycling trails small splash pads for kids and many more.Nearby activities: Cycling, walking on trails, splash pads for kids, swimming

We rented one of the two bedroom cabins for two nights. What a great place to stay. The cabins were immaculately, clean and comfortable. Full kitchen, living room area, two bedrooms, and one full bath. If you like city life, this is not for you. It’s really in the middle of nowhere, but there are lots of outdoorsy things to do. The lodge right next-door to the cabins has a restaurant and a little convenience store/gift shop. You’ll see wild horses just wondering around. Amazing. I definitely recommend a couple nights there.

We camped in their tent camping and had a blast. Loved that they had restrooms and showers available. Their tent camping had these awesome wooden platforms for your tent and was nice with us having small children. There was room for them to sit outside the tent and to leave their shoes and whatnot. The site came with a really nice firepit with a grate so you could put your pans and cook on it easily. Very pleased with our visit and can't wait to go back.Playground: They had a really nice playground that the kids had fun playing on. They had a raft swing that was a big hit with the kids. And it was close enough to the water that when the kids got tired of that we walked down to the water and tried to catch minnows.Restrooms: Restrooms were the nicest park restrooms I've seen. Very well maintained and they had running water so not the nasty outhouse style restrooms.

We loved our time at Echo Bluff. I love that there are so many options for ways to stay. We got the last site on a Friday night after booking at another private campground that we decided not to stay at due to being so run down. Our site didn’t have shade but because we were on the river most of the time, it didn’t matter. Echo Bluff has every amenity a family could want including carts for the walk in sites that aren’t too far off the path but enough to feel like you’re in the woods. We went mid June and pulled a few tics off of us while in the woods at the park, so be aware of that. We look forward to going back soon, and bonus, there are outfitters that will pick you up at your site to take you on the river.

Beautiful place to stay. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were notified via text our cabin and lodge room were ready well before official check in time. Water levels were a little low behind the lodge but it was perfect to catch minnows and sit and relax. Views are stunning and water is crystal clear.staff checked in several times to make sure we had everything we needed.

Very beautiful place, haven't stayed overnight. Location is a little ways out in no where, but very close to Round Springs & the beauty is worth the drive. Store has many items to choose from, including our Myrtle's Distilled Spirits. Great & friendly staff as well.Nearby activities: Carrs Canoe Rentals, Round Springs Park, Pulltite Park. Beautiful park. So many beautiful spots to go and enjoy. We went over to the beautiful lodge and visited the bluffs and sinking creek, as well as the playground. They had activities/education on Saturday. We stayed in the Timbuktu campground. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The campground hosts were kind and helpful also! They worked so hard after each camper left to get it cleaned up and ready for the next campers. The park is all paved and has full hook ups and even wifi. There is a walk in camping area and they have wheelbarrows for you to haul in your stuff. The bathhouse has toilets on one side and showers on the other. The showers had very high pressure according to the kids.

Didn't stay here, just drove the grounds. Somewhere in my wife's or sister's readings, they started using the term Wild Horses, so that's what we wanted to see...like in the movie, Hidalgo. But on the sign I read it was clear they weren't exactly Wild. I'd say the seven that I saw were just turned out to permanent pasture. Nonetheless, I love them. Too bad other tourists are as they are. The family of about 10 were crowding them and letting their 4 year olds pull grass and feed them. When I walked up, the mother told me they really like the purple flowers! Did I want some? I said, Well, the sign said not to feed them and not to crowd them, so I'll stick to that. The lead balloon had been dropped. I took a couple shots and returned to the car. She must have said something because her group then left and went down the hill. As soon as they did, the horse visibly relaxed and spread out and walked around. They had been huddled together out of stress. Oh, well...

My family has stayed in the cabins here 3 times now and have had great experiences. The cabins are spacious and comfortable. We always love spending time on the decks. It’s a great location being so close to sinking creek. Many of my family members were excited to have the free continental breakfast this year as well. The grounds also have several large shelter houses with grills that are free to use for outdoor dinners. The kids also have a great time on the near by park.

This place has so many other places around it, we kept busy for three days! The cabins nearby were inexpensive and right on the river. Try to get a upstairs cabin because of the floors!Walkability: Lots of steps and elevation changes

My family has visited 3 times in just over a year's time. We have seen it in the spring, summer and fall now and it's been great each time! We love that there's so much to do in nature there and how disconnected it is. There's also plenty of facilities to use there so you aren't just "roughing it." We plan to return at least once a year now if not more!

First time I've ever been to Echo Bluff State Park. I stayed in the lodge. My room had a view of sinking creek and Echo Bluff. And I got to experience seeing a herd of wild horses. There are hiking trails, an onsite restaurant, gift shop, and in room gas fireplaces. They turn those off mid-April. I would definitely go there again.
