Wonderful Soda Fountain / Ice Cream Shop / Restaurant / Florist Shop in the heart of downtown Elsberry. I ordered a Rachel with a Coca-Cola Phosphate for lunch, both were delicious. Service was excellent. Atmosphere and decor are nostalgic. They even have a couple pinball machines in back. Great local treasure and perfect venue for grabbing a tasty bite to eat, or old fashioned malt, shake, or soda float.

Fabulous little ice cream and sandwich shop with antiques. Hand dipped ice cream and for you soda fans, they have "Sun Drop". If your from the midwest you know what that is. This is for sure a place to stop in the heart of downtown Elsberry, Missouri.

Awesome place with great atmosphere for anyone!The food is always great which keeps me coming back for more.The flower arrangements that I have purchased are undoubtedly some of the best!I’ve purchased holiday centerpieces and the occasional arrangement for my special someoneseveral times now. They are always a hit and made better than what I asked for.

Love eating here. Great looking historical building. Harkens back to the soda fountains of the 40s and 50s. Great food. Just had the chicken noodle soup on special. Haven't found anything n the menu I don't like. People are always polite and helpful. Love the shakes here too. Just wish they were open for dinner too.

Everything is beautiful and super clean. It has a nice home feeling to it and is old fashioned. There are antiques everywhere that you can look at or buy. They make homemade fountain sodas and hand scoop ice cream. Everything is delicious and comes out super fast.

A quaint little place in the heart of Elsberry and perfect for a quiet lunch with a friend. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. You can also purchase items in their shop, such as candles, mugs, knickknacks of all sorts, even flower arrangements. It's a great spot to visit. Highly recommend!

I love the hand mixed soda fountain, ice cream, cakes, pies and Nacho specials! Wonderful service and super clean restaurant. Old town charm too. Check it out! They have a FB page that posts daily specials. You can even order flower arrangements here!!!!

What a great lunch spot. Speaking on half of my grandparents (Bc they don’t know how to use a computer) they stop in every time we come into town. Great sandwich options and great prices. Plus sweets like shakes and pie mmmmm

An antique store, old timey soda fountain, ice cream parlor, and eatory is what this place is. I saw the antiques, had a soda, and ate a sandwich and some chilli. The soda was awesome and it was very neat watching it made. My sandwich was good and nice portioned but I think it needed some better presentation. I also really enjoyed a nice big bowl of chili. It was yummy could have had a bit more spice but very good. I unfortunately didn't have time to try any ice cream. Next time I am in the neighborhood I will be stopping again. The tables and chairs are mix mash and I would be really scared if my children were eating with me. Maybe focus on the food and drop the antiques.

The Pickel Barrel is simplicity at its finestt.Food is first rate, fresh and delicious. (Recommend the Ruben)With a small floral shop(ordered a crossage for 1st Daddy,Daughter dance. Daddy forgot to reserve one, eleventh hour desperate, called in a panic, although booked, owner crafted my daughter a crossage that stood out amongst all others at the dance. Thanks again)and a respectable malt and shake bar, can't go wrong with The Pickell Barrel, has great food, personable and friendly staff, a beautiful example of what makes small towns so great.

Headed out to Clarksville for eagle days and some antique shopping was recommended to stop in Elsberry @ The Pickle Barrel for lunch. Perfect food, perfect service to add to a perfect day! The Caesar salad was delish!

Ate there today the place was really nice inside with a great atmosphere. Makes a great place to grab some lunch good food fairly inexpensive too. They have a few antiques around for sale as well.
