Passing through and my father-in-law wanted to stop for a peanut butter, chocolate shake. He's a returning customer, while my husband and I were first time customers. As I'm not a fan of peanut butter, I perused the menu for something else. I saw they were advising mint chip ice cream and waffle cones, perfect! Upon placing my order, they asked if I wanted chocolate, vanilla or swirl ice cream. I reiterated that I wanted the mint chip. She then told me that it's just the candy chips that they'll sprinkle on top. I proceeded with chocolate but was a bit disappointed that I didn't take the time to pick out something else. I wondered if I had gotten the hurricane if it would have been blended; but guessing not as I saw another review, several years old, with the same compliant about their hurricane order. While this time didn't quite meet my expectations, I may give it another go down the road.

Off the beaten path and worth the stop! Great motorcycle ride for Tenderloin sandwiches and chocolate malts! Staff is always nice and smiling. Great upgrades on the outdoor seating, love it!

Our first time there. I had the full tenderloin sandwich and my wife had a cheese burger. The food was great. The fries were crispy but not over cooked. The staff were very friendly. We ate outside under a covered patio. It was clean and comfortable. Definitely on our go back again list.

Stopped here on the way to the lake to get some ice cream. Glad we did, the ice cream was good. They leave napkins out which was a great idea because you get a lot of ice cream and it melts quickly so you definitely need the napkins. The workers are friendly and the people there are nice. They do charge a CC fee of $1.00 but I don't blame them to try and keep costs down.

Hadn't been here in three years, but always stop by when coming back from the lake. I haven't eaten the food here for over a decade and I have to say it is much, much better than I remember it being. Maybe the new ownership? Staff is amazing too. How this got a $$ is beyond me. It's definitely not expensive.

Always love the Dairy Bar. Burgers and tenderloins are fantastic! Prices are good. And they've improved their ice cream products it seems ~ whatever you're doing now, stick with it! Much more creamy, less ice-milk-ish. This is a regular stop for us going to and from the lake.

If you're on the way to the lake, plan a stop here. The shakes and onion rings are great, but the tenderloins have to be the star. They're breaded in crackers and absolutely delicious. Only get the full size if you're starving or plan on saving some for later; they're big.

We always make a stop here on the way to and from the Lake from Kansas City! Awesome little joint with excellent food and ice cream! Definitely worth your time to stop in and have some "diner" type food! You won't regret it!

Food is good staff friendly, but if you haven't stopped in a while be prepared to wait. Owner closes lobby at 3, I am sure because hard to find people who will work. But on a busy thursday evening there are 4 people working one window and 2 cooks and if you call in an order they want you to stand in line with 12 other people and wait on your food. The reason it was called in is so you dont have to wait. Something needs to change. Several people left when I was waiting and they left without ordering. Hope this gets figured out.

The food is good, huge portions, and fairly priced. The place is clean and patronized by locals as well as travelers. The tenderloins can be ordered breaded and fried, or grilled, tasty either way!

Nice place. Delicious malts! Burger wasnt anything to rave about. But the fried chicken sandwich? Holy moly. Crispy coating, flavorful (without being over peppered like so many fried chicken coatings). Next time I go I'm getting the tenderloin. If the coating is as good as the chicken one it will be amazing.

The ice cream is good, but everything else is kind of random. One day they closed an hour early. One day they ran out of everything but chocolate. You never really know what your going to get. It seems more like a hobby than a business. But the ice cream is good.

Accidentally found this place while driving to the Ozarks. We were hungry and noticed a full parking lot. Pulled over and had one of the best hand breaded pork tenderloins ever. Actually drove 90 minutes one way a couple of times just to get one. So worth the short roadtrip!

I've been coming here since I was a little kid. We always stop by on our way to the Lake and sometimes on our way home too! We've been here through several different owners, and I must say, the newest owner is my favorite. Although they eliminated the taco bar, in the end, I think slimming down the menu was a wise choice. The thing to get here is the pork tenderloin sandwich with an order of tater tots. The tenderloin is HUGE. I can only eat half of one. It is delicious. The bun is awesome. It must be some kind of egg roll, it's so soft and fluffy. Not like the egg roll you get at an asian restaurant. The pork is flattened and crispy and awesome. It even tastes good leftover. So if you're feeling brave, get the big one and finish it at home. Now, the tater tots. the tater tots are something to behold. Unlike any tater tot I've had before, there are actual chunks of potato in it, and they are to die for. With a little ketchup on them, you'll be one happy camper. The ice cream is really good too. Way more quantity and average quality and below average prices. I couldn't finish my regular hurricane with snickers and M&M's in it. I could only eat half.My order was about $10 for the sandwich, the tots, and the ice cream. I would have paid $10 just to eat those tater tots again.I've gotten their burgers before and they are tasty. Much better than your average fast food burger. The service is good, lots of friendly faces behind the counter and people willing to make conversation. They are also dog friendly (outside). They have some tables set up and walk up window. They also gave me a bowl for my pup. It takes a little bit longer to get your food, but it is well worth it. Do NOT pass this place up on your way to the Lake. The Lake can wait, Dairy Bar CANNOT.

Went in at 8 PM this evening for ice cream. First thing we are greeted with is "do you just want ice cream cause the grill is off?" Yes we just wanted ice cream, but the grill shouldn't have been off for the night when the hours say they are open until 9 PM. We sat and ate our ice cream and visited with friends, all while everyone that was working was walking around mad because we were there, leaning up against the window with a jacket on like she was ready to walk out the door. If this establishment closes at 8 they need to change the hours on the building. If they were just trying to get out if there early that is very poor customer service. This has been a place I visited weekly and I am very disappointed in the crew that was working this evening.

The tenderloin looked good a lot of patrons were eating 1 but my half tenderloin was tough and somewhat burned on the edges, I will stick with ice cream when I pass through. As usual the ice cream... This TIME a cherry malt was outstanding
