First time buying meat in bulk. They were happy to answer all my questions. Everyone I worked with during the process was great to deal with and very knowledgeable. I was curious how much meat I would actually get from hanging weight, and the number ended up being 65 percent which I'm very happy about. 88lbs ground, 49lb everything else. Can't wait to try it!

On our way to Uranus fudge, we drove through Clinton. Saw the sign for Powell Meat Co. and just had to stop. We picked up some Tequila lime jerky and some of their original jerky. OMG super tender and flavorful. Also picked up beef summer sausage and beef cheddar summer sausage. Haven't tried those yet. We will update this review when we do

Driving to Branson from Denver, saw the billboard outside of Clinton saying this is the best beef you’ll ever eat. They aren’t wrong!!! I’ve not been to a shop that handles all of the processing on site, from slaughter to nose to tail butchering. We enjoyed two 16 oz ribeyes that had 14 days of age on them, then dry brined for 12 hrs, and seasoned with fresh ground pepper. Excellent flavor, great marbling and tenderness. We shopped the rest of their offerings, ending up with local butter, eggs & cheese and some free jerky. Fantastic!!

I dropped off deer at Powell's for Missouri's 'Share the Harvest' program. They do such a good job of managing the huge demand at this time of year, and during the rest of the year. If you haven't been here, you will likely be impressed at their selection of fresh and frozen meats, liquor, beer and other products. In a small town such as Clinton, this business stands out for their quality, professionalism and breadth of offerings.

Powell's customer service is unmatched! They are super friendly and great at what they do. They've met me after hours twice this deer season alone to allow me to drop off deer when I wasn't able to butcher them myself, 10:30 pm on a Sunday even. The meat I get back from them is top quality and I'm really happy to know I can count on them.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! By far the best piece of meat we’ve ever tasted! We drive past every weekend on the way to the Lake and we finally remembered to stop! And boy are we glad we did! We purchased the entire meal for $40 (crab stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped asparagus, bone in Ribeye, and Filet) BLOWN AWAY, We will be making this stop every lake weekend!The gentlemen working the counter were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly!

I had a deer processed here. It was done in less than a week. The kid that loaded up my burger put a hole in every single one. I could hear him throwing them around in the trailer. When I confronted him about it, he told me the holes are from the packaging freezing together. The packaging is plastic and its obvious it was thrown. Not to mention I heard it. Its hard to give a bad review over 1 kid but I had to re-package my entire deer. I called and told lady that answered. She said "Sorry about that." I will change my review if Powell Meat wants to make it right. Thank you.

We have stopped by twice for a quick meal & haven’t been disappointed. The burgers are huge & delicious and we just tried the brisket sandwich. It was a big portion, super tender & one of the best we ever had.We’ve also purchased their porterhouse steaks to take home & definitely the best steak we’ve grilled at home.I would recommend to share a meal because it’s a lot of food for one person.

Picked up a hog that we had butchered. They do a nice job wrapping the roasts and steaks, shrink wrapping bacon and ham, and putting the sausage in tubes. All was clean and separated in boxes ready for pickup.

Just WOW! We have been coming here, in a big truck, for around 9 years! What a friendly group of people! The selection of foods, both packaged and fresh is amazing! They offer a huge selection of all things ( grill able) and if you can't find something delicious in here, then, you are simply not hungry! The restroom is clean, and it is wheel chair accessible!

Stopped for the bathroom, stayed for the food! Literally the best burger I’ve had in a LONG time. The portions were huge for a small price, and the fries tasted like real homemade fries🙌🏻 Happy to have leftovers, but I can’t wait to come back in a couple weeks to try another item off the menu!

Powell meat is scamming people. I don't know if they are filling their retail coolers with customers meat or if they are keeping it for themselves. I would give them a score of less than 1/5 if possible.I purchased a beef through a farmer that they recommended. The hanging weight for the beef was 258 pounds. Of that 258 pounds, I was shorted 133 pounds of meat. When the meat was weighed I had 125 pounds of meat. I was told by one of the girls who works there that had I bought from them , I would have had 3 more boxes of meat. For $838.50, I should have gotten 258 pounds of meat not 125 pounds which I was given.Like others, I am finding that the dishonesty of this place is appalling. Being shorted over half of the order is theft.Please read other reviews stating meat shortage and quality issues and decide wisely before you buy from this locker.Addendum: While the owner has provided a link attempting to explain why the butcher has stolen your meat, it does not explain the fact I am 133 pounds of meat short.Also, the vacuum seal packs they use leak.Addendum 5/27/23- The hamburger has a horrible smell to it before, during and after cooking it which impregnates into the taste ruining our meals. The ham has an old taste to it as if it sat in a freezer for too long and or was simply old.Please be cautious and use discretion if you choose to use this locker.

Stopped by yesterday and purchased Powell Dogs, stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped onions, and stuffed pickled sweet peppers. We had a feast tonight! Everything was Delicious!!! I highly recommend shopping at Powell Meat Company! The establishment is clean, staff is very friendly and they have so much to choose from!! We didn't have a cooler with us, but not to worry, staff made a little make-shift cooler for us and that worked out just fine! My only regret is that we live 2 + hours away. Next time, we''ll bring a larger cooler!

When me and another truck driver pulled up into your driveway we had absolutely no idea what to expect. We bought a few things and when we parked for the evening we were stunned the meat was tender and juicy, the brats were amazing. We have decided that you will be a regular stop on this route.

Yes, the staff is super friendly. Yes, the new facility is really nice. Yes, the meat looks absolutely fantastic. But I feel compelled to comment on my experience after grilling hamburgers tonight. You see, I raise my own beef, have for years. Last couple years I've had Powell process my beef. Do a nice job, really nice. Double wrapped and all. But I always order my order my ground beef lean, 90/10 at least. This year I did the same. Problem is there's no way on earth I received a 90/10 mix. Maybe 80/20, maybe. The easiest way for me to tell is by grilling burgers. When you wonder if you need a fire extinguisher when you grill your burgers, well there you go. So, be super specific about what you want. Super specific. Like maybe multiple times.

We're fairly new to the Clinton community and have purchased steaks from Powell's three times. Hands down the best steaks we've ever cooked on our grill. We also tried their new food truck this past Friday, the first day they were open. Again, the food was great. I would have rated them as five stars, but their work processes could use some improvement to speed things up--but who am I to tell them how to run their business?

Friendly folks who know a great steak! We got one of the best marbled porterhouse we've seen in a while with a perfectly succulent tenderloin. It was about 1 1/4 " thick, and grilled it with salt, pepper, and a bit of Montreal seasoning to a beautiful medium rare with nice grill marks. It cut like butter and the flavor was wonderful. Also got a nice sirloin and marinated it for fajitas and it was delicious as well. Powell is on our "Must visit" list the next time we're in the area.

This shop has it all, bacon, beef, jerky, candy, and breakfast burritos. staff was polite and helpful. the jerky is excellent, the breakfast burritos were delightful and they had the wagyu chuck steak i was looking for. definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely delicious. All local meats that melt n your mouth. Our go to for all our BBQ meats and lots of extras like the stuffed mushroom. Try those on the grill. Love this meat shop!
