Edit: the employees are so rude that they pushed a buggy in to me and I just walked in the store so she had no right it hurt my ankle.I am so mad I went to this store and got bc powder cherry there was tape on the box and only 19 packs of bc I paid full price for it and didn't realize till I got home and counted them there was 3 other workers in there that obviously doesn't know what they are doing to prevent this.

This incident happened a couple of months ago at this location, and I have refused to shop at this place since. My best friend was treated terribly by a gang of employees who falsely accused her of “coupon fraud.” She was shopping for items and attempted to use the coupons on the APP. Not third party coupons- the Dollar General app coupons that the company itself produces. When she got to the register, some of the coupons did not apply. She politely asked to void the transaction. Again- the transaction was voided from the system. She never paid, and the transaction never went through. Therefore, no coupons were even used to pay for any items. She put back the items that didn’t work and tried to purchase a pack of diapers using a coupon. When she entered her number, FOUR female employees came to the register and ganged up on her. They began to berate her and became extremely verbally aggressive. They told her she wasn’t allowed to enter her number and use coupons twice. She tried to explain that the transaction was voided and therefore the coupons had not even been used once. Also, the coupon would have been removed from being available on the app had she already used it, which she had NOT. The transaction was voided and nothing was purchased. They made a scene in front of every customer in line shouting at her and accusing her of committing “coupon fraud.” She tried to explain to them she had used no coupons as the transaction was voided, but these women continued to attack her, speak to her in a rude, loud, and belligerent manner, and loudly accuse her of fraud in front of a line of customers. A male employee came in and one of the female employees shouted at him “don’t you get involved!” She again tried to explain to them that no coupons had been applied as the transaction was voided and never went through, but these four women continuously berated her and shouted that she was committing fraud. There was NO fraud involved in this situation. This entire debacle took place in front of her toddler, who was frightened to have four women shouting at and ganging up on her mother.Since the employees of this place clearly don’t know what “coupon fraud” is, here’s a free education from Google: “Coupon fraud is the use of fake coupons, or the misuse of actual coupons, to derive more value from a promotion than someone would usually be entitled to. This can include using a coupon multiple times, changing its value or expiration date, or redeeming it for the wrong (or even no) product.” She had not used a coupon at all as the transaction was VOIDED, and as I’ve already said, the coupon would’ve no longer been available for use in the app had she used it. It appears this group of ladies don’t even have the knowledge of their own company’s app or what the definition of coupon fraud is. They also appear to take personal offense at anyone using the coupons the company itself offers. Does it come out of their pay or something? Of course not!To Dollar General corporate- why offer coupons if your employees are going to make slanderous accusations against those who try to use them? And why hire people who think it’s acceptable to gang up on a woman and a toddler and shout at her and accuse her of crime in front of everyone in the store? The lack of understanding of their own app and system is astounding, and bullying must be used to compensate.I firmly believe this was also a case of racial profiling and cultural bias. I refuse to tolerate bullying, racism, false accusations, and the mistreatment of my loved ones. Never again will I patronize this location, which, ironically enough, the very person they bullied introduced me to. I had been treated very tersely when I asked a question about a coupon once, but this treatment is unacceptable. I won’t support this place. Shameful behavior!

Much better experience today... Of course it was slow on a sunday so no.long line The freezer section has been renovated and looks amazing with larger selection... Really giving you a break from having to go to Walmart.. The employees were extremely friendly even the one who was previously rude to me who mentioned she was from the Netherlands...

Worst experience ever!! The guy literally stood there and kept asking to look at my card and told me to wait 20 seconds after to make sure MY CARD doesnt come back stolen or reported BEFORE attempting my transfer of cash from my debit card to my prepaid card. Due to hacking I use prepaid for online payments instead of my debit and both cards had MY NAME ON THEM!! Never have I been so embarrassed... the manager lady was helpful but he was the WORST. I went to the dollar general on highway 19 and they had jo problem with helping. I will not be returning to this one.

This place is convenient in terms of merchandise if you're trying to avoid Walmart or a bigger store... However, the customer service is lacking and don't even bother complaining to a manager here.. Some associates are polite.. Also, if you're in a hurry this also isn't the place for you... There are usually two associates but if the line is extremely long you'll often find the other employee stocking or cleaning the store... I understand they have tasks that have to be completed so they can't stop to clear a long line of customers, and also someone has to keep an eye out for sticky fingers and help other customers so I usually just avoid this store if I am in a rush..Large merchandise selection including frozen section with milk eggs cheese etc.Customer service needs work

No shopping carts, could not get around so much stuff in the aisle and blocking the way. The line to checkout was long and move very slow. Will not visit that location again unless I have no choice.

I prefer shopping at the Dollar Generals located outside the city limits. Dollar Generals that are located in rural areas provide me with a better shopping experience! This one is fine. I'm just a country boy!

The DG on Hwy 19 South is awful. Always a mess, can hardly get your buggy down the aisles. Be prepared to have a long wait in line for checking out. Usually one cashier is working regardless of how busy they are.

Why do all Dollar General have one Register open. It would be nice to go to a Dollar General in Meridian Mississippi and not have to wait in line for 15 minutes because they only have one Register open.
