After a bad experience with a different clinic, I decided to make the trek to Willmar from St. Cloud to see what South 71 was like. It's quite the drive, but 100% worth it (even when my senior cat has to go in for her arthritis treatment, which takes all of five minutes). South 71's staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and I'm proud that this is my vet of choice. The clinic itself is clean, and welcoming.I have four cats, so one concern of mine was cost of services. South 71 has always been transparent with costs, and thus far, it's been affordable!I've recommended them to friends, family, and even strangers.

We stopped in Friday evening as an emergency walk in, after our dog ripped off her toenail and was bleeding a LOT. We happened to be just passing through the area on our way home, but they welcomed us, took our lab Kula right back, and fixed her up. They sent gauze for the next day, as well as a couple pain pills because she ripped it off right down to the bone. South 71 Vet clinic was professional, friendly, thorough, and very reasonable with what they charged. We can't thank them enough for taking such good care of our family friend!

The team at South 71 is second to none! We made the difficult decision to euthanize our German shepherd this morning and we couldn’t have asked for better care. The receptionist, Tech and the Doctor were amazing. We couldn’t have asked for more kind and compassionate care during such a difficult time. Thank you again!

Dr Jessica was amazing with our Bailey. Our dog got hurt running in the woods, and everyone at the south 71 veterinary clinic was so great. I called at 10 to 5, and I live 1/2 hour away, and they Said bring her in, and they had to put her out so they could stitch up that big gash on her back. I would definitely recommend this vet clinic, and we will be going back there. Thank you everyone for taking care of my BaileyBarb

We could not be happier with South 71 Veterinary Clinic. They are quick to respond to calls and emails, and are always willing to help. All of the staff are so kind to my pet and I. They generously provide resources, education, and support when my pet and I need it. It is evident they are all very educated, and have the wellbeing of their clients at the forefront of care.They also have a mobile app that is an option for scheduling, reminders, and resources.Their new facility is also so nice! Spacious, clean, and very aesthetically pleasing.

Absolutely rude for an emergency vet! Like they were upset I needed them for my 10 week old puppy. Paid a bill and asked for a copy of my horse Coggins and said they will call you or you can stop in. I was there now paying my bill and wouldn't give me the papers. She was Absolutely rude about it and the on call vet seemed annoyed I called.

Brought my young cat in because he was acting very strange. Lethargic, wobbly and would not eat or use the litter box. Initially, this doctor thought there was nothing wrong. We had to ask for an X-ray to find out there actually was something wrong, which the doc wanted to just send us home with antibiotics, or do an exploratory surgery with very little insight.. Brought my cat in for a second opinion, and now he's on an IV being watched closely for a bowel obstruction. The doctor we went to in Litchfield knew there was something wrong IMMEDIATELY when he met my cat. I highly recommend finding a different vet for your house pets, the doctor we worked with was not trustworthy.

My family had a pet emergency that required putting down a beloved 15 year old dog. It was during the operating hours of my previous vet, but they refused to see us. We called 71 Clinic and even though they had never seen our dog and we weren't sure when we would get there, they let us come in no problem. They were so caring and excellent during this sad time. They gave us as much time to mourn as we needed. Her clay paw prints were well made, and we even received a condolences card signed by all the staff in the mail. I am in the process of changing my other pets over to their care as I was so impressed by them.

They were amazing when we had to put our cat to sleep. Very accommodating, explained things clearly, ans so respectful. Overall they made a very hard time just a bit easier to manage.

Brought my dog in after 12 hours of troubled labor and they gave her a shot saying it should do the trick and if it doesn’t to call. Called for 6 hours being told “they were busy and they would call back when they had time” that never happened. Was actually even hung up on. When their emergency hours started they miraculously had time to get her in but it was too late… all her puppies had died and our dog was very sick.Couple weeks later my dad brought our family cat in to be put down and we made it very clear we wanted an ink paw print of his, for a memorial tattoo I’ve had planned in my mind for years. I even watched the girl write it down on the paper but when we went to pick up his prints and clay prints there was no ink print. To which they responded “they must have overlooked it”. A very heartless and negligent place. Find somewhere else to bring your pets.

I took my cat in as an emergency in the early morning on a Sunday when he was throwing up all night. Dr. Jessica and staff was very patient, knowledgable, and friendly, and took great care of my cat and explaining the exam results. I took my poodle to South 71 Veterinary Clinic for a suspicious tumor on his front leg. He had cancer last year and I was concerned. From the person I first talked to, to the appointment where everyone at the clinic said hello to us when we came in and welcomed us to their clinic, it was a wonderful experience despite the seriousness of the visit. The veterinary tech and the veterinarian shared my concerns, and discussed the options available. They were genuine and sincere in their concern for my dog and me. I am new to Willmar and I am so glad to have found a clinic that is as caring as my previous clinic. I left there feeling that my dog will have the best care available when it's time for him to have his surgery.

Change in management has changed my review from 1 to 5 and I've never changed a review before. Because of availability and scheduling we ended up having to go back to them and we took in one of our dogs that had a lump on her and they checked it out and said that it's benign and if we want to have it removed, we can, but they don't recommend it. And this has restored my faith and patronage in this company. 10/10 highly recommend!

The whole team was so wonderful and compassionate about my pet. I heard from the doctor multiple times during the day to update me on my pets situation and walk me through the next steps and options. They also did what they thought was right for the animal and not the bank account. You guys were great!

I was shopping around for a new veterinarian and came across this one on Google Maps. After reading most of the reviews the negative one seems to consist of two things. The first one being the people didn't think they reacted as quickly as they needed to to an assumed emergency by the pet owner. These people seem pretty competent and I'm assuming that if it actually was an emergency they would react accordingly. When it's your pet we all know we tend to overreact on things. The second comment was that the waiting room was a little small. Well I didn't find it to be small I did find the seating to be severely lacking. There were literally four chairs. However all of that being said they were very reasonably priced, nice and welcoming to a new customer, and seemed knowledgeable. I would recommend them anytime.

Brought our dog in at 10:45 at night with an emergency. Hard to call it a pleasant experience, but Dr. Kallstrom and Elena were incredibly kind and considerate in such a difficult time. They were very straightforward with me and helped make the correct, albeit difficult decision.

Our family has used this vet clinic for many years and we have always had a good experience. The doctors are nice and very knowledgeable as are the vet techs and other staff. Prices are reasonable and they are always upfront about pricing and do not pressure you into unnecessary procedures or tests.

I will pay a little extra elsewhere for the peace of mind of my animals always getting the proper care. I have seen first-hand the mishaps that could have been avoided on multiple occasions directly involving my animals and the staff at S71. If new and preventable injuries are being sustained in the office and aren't handled well, I don't have full peace of mind when bigger situations in a pets life arise that require putting more faith into the veteranarians skill and knowledge.

My cat had an ear hematoma. The staff was able to quickly schedule the surgery and fix his ear. The two quick follow-up exams/visits were no-charge. My family has been using South 71 for over 20+ years and the service has always been top notch. I trust my pets in their care.

This is Saturday and we needed a vet doctor immediately. Was heading to St. Cloud when I asked my granddaughter to call this vet knowing they were closed on weekends. She called left a message and we were like 15 miles from there when they called us back and they took her puppy in immediately. They did emergency surgery and she came thru ok. They kept her overnight to watch her and if all goes well we can go after her tomorrow. I thank them so much cuz my granddaughter loves her Chihuahua, German shepherd, tortoises and house cat. She will do everything for them.

Great place to take ur pet! Took time to explain things on the paper work about the surgery while i filled it out. They called me right after he got out of surgery to let me know how it went and even called me a few days after to check in on how my pet is doing!

Brought my dog in for an ultrasound . The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They gave me a packet of info to deliver the pups safely at home. We now have two healthy babies!

Croweded seating are, unfriendly staff and don't care when your in need of immediate help. My youngest dog got into some aspirin when she wasn't ours (family friends dog at the time) and they wouldn't even come in to pump her stomach or anything called Willmar pet hospital and doctor cook was there right away. We used to take our older dog here but never had good experiences now I will never take any animal here again.

Dr. Jensen and her assistant were so good and kind to Koda. And coming out at midnight was so touching and dedicated. Koda improved rapidly from their great care.
