What an amazing place!!!I went there during a work trip and I was pleasantly surprised by this cozy Café.I was welcomed by exceptional service from the staff. They told me about the special of the day (The best bacon sandwich and lumberjack vegetable soup) and it seemed like the perfect choice for what I wanted. My attention also gravitated towards the delicious selection of cookies they had, so naturally, I got a "monster" cookie.The bacon sandwich was the perfect ratio of sauce, meat and vegetable to fill me up without making me feel heavy. All the ingredients were fresh, the bacon wasn't the cheap, insanely thin strips you normally get in other restaurants and the brioche bread was so good.The soup was the warm touch that was missing from this rainy day.And the cookie.... the cookie had no business being this tasty. The monster cookie I ordered was an oatmeal cookie with peanut butter and M&Ms. I was hesitant on the peanut butter since sometimes it overwhelms the other flavours but they made it just right.This place will forever have a place in my heart.

Every time we happen to come to this town...we always have to stop in to Area 57.The place is welcoming and comforting. We can't get enough of their food and coffee.They usually have lunch and supper specials for a good price! You can choose from basic or specialty coffee in a wide variety of flavors.Their pies are to die for and we usually always get one to go!Plus the staff is always friendly making this a great place to stop!

Walking in feels like a cozy place to sit and eat and mingle right off the bat. Getting to order at the counter , the staff made it very understandable for it being our first time and what they had for choices.We ordered the French toast, the ham and cheese omelette and a Denver sandwich, all of which when they came were incredibly tasty. The coffee prices are not outrageous either for what you get. My wife got the pumpkin special drink (it was fall), and I got the caramel latte with an extra shot of espresso. They were very satisfying, especially after coming off of vacation where the coffee was very weak, it was nice to get some strong coffee again that also tasted good.This will be on my list of favorites when I travel down this way again.

The highlight of our day! My daughter turned 4 years old and wanted a hot chocolate so I took her on a date to Area 57 CoffeeCafe. First time here and it was such a treat. Their hot chocolate was delicious of course (how can you go wrong?) and we got the almond milk option which adds a light nutty flavor. My daughter loved the fresh flowers in vases on the table and the comfy seating around the fireplace mantle. The outdoor seating is very inviting too — perfect for a moment of relaxing and sipping your beverage. We will certainly make the trip back!Vegetarian options: Non-dairy milk options (oat milk and almond milk)Dietary restrictions: Dairy free options for beveragesParking: Several parking spaces on the street in front of the cafeKid-friendliness: Polite staff, very welcoming, kind to my daughter and made her feel comfortable

The rueben was phenomenal. Awesome unique tastes. What a surprise it is to have the local mayor serve your food. He's a very nice guy and his restaurant is clean and inviting. The pudding cake takes the Cake. We couldn't even hold off till we got home. Superior small town cafe. So good

First time stopping by Area 57. It was worth every penny. Great service, I had the Triple club sandwich it was great. Highly recommend. They have great coffee and drink options which is what puts then over the top in my opinion.

Coffee is legit. Omelet was awesome.Lots of treats to choose from and they all look homemade.Update* 3/14/19* this place is still awesome. My wife loved it as well. For sure worth the time if you are on your way from Minneapolis to Rochester. I always go here when I visit Zumbrota.

Great atmosphere, the service was excellent, and it has a very casual, down home feel. Their lunch special was a ham and smoked gouda cheese on marble rye with caramelized onions, and it was to die for! Definitely going back again!

I'm new to the area and stumbled across this place, dropped in to just get coffee to go. Once inside however I noticed it was crowded and the food looked good so I decided I would grab a bite to eat. Had the loaded potato soup and thought it was great. Stuck around for a little while to use the internet and had them make me a cafe americano. That was well prepared and a great conclusion to my meal.

My sister and I met friends here for lunch last week. It is a cute cafe with all sorts of coffee drinks and teas for sale with made-from-scratch desserts that are fantastic. The food was great. I had the cowboy special sandwich with a cup of potato soup. Both were excellent! My sister had a breakfast sandwich with breakfast potatoes and said it was a delicious breakfast. I had a slice of key lime pie for dessert. The service was outstanding. The food was fabulous. I hope to return to this friendly cafe again! 5/5 stars!

My wife and I stopped here on the way up to Minneapolis on a whim since we were hungry. All I can say is that we really enjoyed the food we had there. We both had turkey sourdough melts that had caramelized onions and cheese on them. They were fantastic! It was clear care had been taken to prepare the food well so that the onions were not too thick on the sandwich. We also got a cup of potato soup that was also fantastic. It might not look like the fanciest place but the staff was extremely friendly, creating a very welcoming and wonderful place to grab a quick lunch. I would certainly stop by again.
