The rental had gorgeous views of Lake Superior. It had ample space and provided both family meeting space and private areas to retreat to. We loved how each bedroom had a private bathroom.The carpet on the stairs was very old and worn, but the rest of the place was wonderful. Also, there was garbage underneath my son’s bed that he discovered when he was packing up his belongings and making sure nothing was left behind.Thank you for allowing us to check-in half an hour early due to the winter storm.

The North Shore is one of our favorite places to travel to. Loon Lodge on Lake Superior adds to our enjoyment. Rick does a great job hosting us, the property is always clean and well taken care of offering everything we require. The area is exactly what we come to the North Shore to see and do. The view of Lake Superior from the deck is so beautiful. There are hiking trails near by as well as restaurants. The 4 bedroom condo is exactly what we require for group. It is a highlight for us every year. We have been coming to Loon Lodge now for more than 6 years and look forward to our stay at Loon Lodge every year. We would recommend this property for anyone! Loon Lodge on Lake Superior was an amazing place to stay! Great views of the lake! Very clean and filled with lots of nice touches like coffee, ice, and spices. Close to Lutsen Mountain, Tofte, and cross country ski trails. We will be back!

We had an exceptional experience at Loon Lodge on Superior! The home was better than advertised as pictures can not always do justice! Spacious and extremely well kept compared to other lodging we had visited in the past. We had questions on how busy the complex may be, we felt like we were the only ones there and had the whole complex to ourselves! The views of the lake were amazing! We really enjoyed our stay at Loon Lodge. The town home is very nice and has all that you need to make your vacation a memorable one. The views from the property are beautiful. The location to scenic state parks, recreation, and restaurants are good. We are looking forward to a return trip to Loon Lodge Lake Superior.

We rented for 3 nights and it was amazing. A magnificent roomy deck overlooking Lake Superior, beautiful views (especially sunrises), beautiful unit with log furniture and thoughtful amenities throughout – even blankets to cozy up in. We have timeshares and have rented places for over 35 years and have rarely had such a well-stocked kitchen. All the appliances you could ask for, coffee supplies (and hot chocolate for non-coffee drinkers), and basic spices to boot. We’ll definitely be back!

AHHH-MAZING! From the moment you walk in, this place feels like home. Sunrises right at your bedside or sunsets from the Jacuzzi! Private beach access to wave watch and pick driftwood! A large table to play cards at while other guests sit near the fireplace to relax. A memory foam bed to pass out on after hiking in all the parks that are so close to this cabin! Even cooking is fun, because the kitchen is stocked with nice cookware and even spices. This cabin, even down to the decor and lighting, has been well thought out and cared about. A home away from home, this cabin is superb!!!

Our stay at Loon Lodge on Superior was superb! The townhome is updated, clean, well furnished, and very spacious and comfortable for our family of seven. Cooking was a breeze with it's fully supplied kitchen. Waking up to gorgeous sunrises over Lake Superior from the master bedroom was amazing. The Lutsen location was ideal giving us easy access to Caribou and Cascade trailheads and to dining/shopping in Grand Marais. We also enjoyed the stunning private beach which allowed us to let our dog run off leash. We look forward to returning!

We love absolutely everything about it from the amazing lake view, the homey north woods decor, fully stocked kitchen, and the flawless communication with the owner. My family enjoyed loon lodge and the views, but gave it a 4 star instead of 5 for a few reasons.It wasn’t clear to me that the property didn’t have air conditioning. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem on the north shore, but for our entire 4 night stay it was in the mid 80s with very low wind. That made the cabin basically unbearably hot during the day and sticky at night. Not the cabin owners fault that the weather was hot, but the ceiling fan in a back bedroom wasn’t operational. Each bedroom had fans but that didn’t do much in that kind of heat. The cabin temp was in the high 70s or low 80s for our whole stay. Also, I likely wouldn’t have booked was I aware there wasn’t air before hand. My fault for not checking. Hiking all day and coming home to a hot house is tough.One other note, while the cabin is beautiful, it is a townhome and the neighbors are very present. We felt watched anytime we were on the deck or using the awesome grill thats provided to make supper out back. As a group of 8 we are a bit noisy while sitting outside talking. Since everyone needed windows open we always felt like we were being too loud and shushing our kids.Lastly, while there is a beach accessible on the property, it is over 100 stairs to get to it. Not a problem for half our group but not useable for the older population. Again, not the owners fault the beach is a walk, but wanted folks to know it’s a trek if you or anyone in your group has mobility issues.On the positive side, the house was clean and had a really well stocked kitchen. Check in was easy and the host was very kind.

Since Covid, we as a family have not traveled anywhere. We previously have seen a great deal of the world. My husband was sick of airplanes and traveling. So driving to the North Shore from the cities seemed like an airplane ride away to be rid of the hustle, and embrace the fresh air and clear massive waters of lake Superior. We enjoyed our stay immensely at this home to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our kids and Grandkids. We had 6 adults and two kids 10 and 12! The views are amazing and we all had space to spread out in this homey place. We biked, paddle boarded, fished, hiked and explored. Rick was a great host ! We'd love to return!

Loon Lodge is a comfortable, lovely home in a beautiful location on the shore of Lake Superior. The views from this home are spectacular. Sitting on the deck to watch the sunrise while enjoying a cup of coffee is wonderful way to start the day. My husband and I, and on many occasions our children and grand child, have had memorable vacations here over about the last 10 years. We are looking forward to a summer visit this year. The home is clean, nicely furnished, and well equipped for cooking. If there is any need, the owner is quick to respond and take care of it.

Loon Lodge was absolutely fantastic. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay. The view of Lake Superior was fantastic, the master bedroom bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen was equipped well with everything we needed to cook. The townhome community was quiet and relaxing. I can’t recommend Loon Lodge enough, and we are already looking forward to going back.Just a FYI - if you have small children, be aware that the master bedroom is on the top level of the home and the other open bedroom is on the main level. We were a little uncomfortable having our 3 yo child staying on a separate level next to the front door, but made it work. If you’re in the same life place, you may want to consider opening up the other bedroom on the top level next to the master.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Loon Logde on Lake Superior and can't wait to go back! 7 adults, 2 kids and 1 dog had plenty of room to spread out on all 3 levels. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils and spices. Great location to enjoy all the North Shore has to offer. Rick was an excellent host and communication was great. We had a great time staying at Loon Lodge on Lake Superior Nov.6-10! The home was beautiful with spectacular views. It is in a great location - close to Lutsen, Grand Marais, many state parks and other favorite places we have in the area. The home was very clean and comfortable - and I have a very high standard for cleanliness. The home had plenty of space, and it was so quiet! It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! We appreciated the gas fireplace during the cold evenings. We also appreciated the coffee and hot cocoa that was provided - we had accidentally left our coffee at home! Thanks for a wonderful stay. It felt like a home away from home. We hope to make a return trip soon!

A group of us stayed while running the Moose Mountain marathon. Perfect home for our group, clean and welcoming. Big enough that we had our own individual spaces and the common areas were great for lounging. The lake view is stunning. We spent a couple of hours sitting on the beach on a beautiful fall day. Will be back again.

our visit to loon lodge on lake superior was excellent. our large party had plenty of room and the kitchen had everything you need to do any cooking. the gas grill was a nice feature. worked great. it was nice to have four bathrooms for four bedrooms. close to many outdoor activities as well as being on the bike trail. decks overlooking the lake was great, especially when a rainbow appears on the lake. looking forward for a return visit.

We loved staying at this townhome right on Lake Superior. It was just my husband and I and our dog. We had plenty of room and felt like it was well cleaned due to Covid-19. We kept windows open and had a nice breeze all the time.It was decorated in a lodge theme.The bedroom has a great comfortable mattress too.The owner communicates well—provides explicit and timely directions on how to enter home. Also, what to do when checking out.We would definitely stay here again if we come visit this area again.

We rent from VRBO, Airbnb & independent rentals on a very regular basis. This is one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed. I did not even rewash the dishes before we used them :) The views of Lake Superior are stunning from the home, especially in the master bedroom. I love to get cozy on a rock near the lake and just listen to the water. I found the perfect rock just a few feet from the back door. We will be back again for sure!

My husband and I spent 5 days at Loon Lodge and we had a wonderful experience. The lodge isn't just beautiful it feels wonderful. We were comfortable, relaxed, and when we left, rested. It is clean and stocked with everything anyone could possibly need. The owners are easy to work with and most important they have integrity. We have plans to return again and again. I will admit there was one problem and that was leaving. I wish we would have planned to stay longer. The views were to live for.
