This is one of the best shops on the St. Croix! Such an amazing variety of goods (food, jewelry, paintings, cards, art kits, furniture, beauty, novels, etc.) all handmade from local artists. If you need gifts or looking to support your community I'd highly recommend this place. Even just to browse, you can spend hours here!

This place is amazing! I want to buy the entire store! There's something for everyone here and anything in here would make a thoughtful unique gift. The store has products from different artists. When you check out, you get an artist card of who made the products you purchased.

This is one of the most unique and attractive stores I have seen in Minnesota. Everything is hand-made by different artisans and the staff are awesome. This is a must stop shop in downtown Stillwater!

I LOVE this store! There are so many unique things for sale made by local artists. I purchased two works of art for my office and a diffuser that have all my clients commenting on how nice my office looks and smells! I also bought a beautiful handmade bracelet that I have been wearing daily. I will be back for sure!

This store is awesome!! So different from the usual retail experience. And the staff is friendly and engaged in the products. I love seeing all of the different handcrafted items and appreciate that everything is made locally. And things change regularly so I always find something new for a gift. I highly recommend a stop at Smith and Trade Mercantile!

Nice store, nice employees, & nice merchandise. I was disappointed when my credit charge showed more than the price of my merchandise and the receipt. I was upcharged for a credit card fee. Shame on me! I should ask before every purchase. No signage, no mention of the fee. I do not pay interest or fees and I always have sufficient cash. Buyer be aware. I didn't expect it at a retail shop, usually bars and restaurants. We learn every day.

Very cute shop with great gifts!I’m really bummed to share a bad experience because I love supporting local creators. But I don’t want this to happen to someone else.My significant other purchased a handmade leather Apple Watch band. Once outside the store he put it on his Apple Watch, only to realize the connector was flawed and would not clip onto his watch. Naturally we wanted to return the band since it wasn’t functioning as designed. The clerk let us know there were no returns and then proceeded to grab my SO’s Apple Watch, trying to make the clip fit while grilling us, asking how it should be working, asking what’s not working about it, etc. typical questions, but also an invasion of space and the approach was very unfriendly.She told us they don’t accept returns, but would honor a return ‘this one time’. And almost did not process the return correctly. The reason I am posting the review is because I watched her put the tag back on the flawed item, acting like she was going to put it back out on the floor for someone else to purchase. Maybe shy away from the hand made Apple Watch bands for $45 if you stop in!

Beautiful shop with wonderful merchandise. But beware - you can only return for store credit. I bought adorable boots for my grandson but was undecided if they would be big enough (they weren't). Clerk knew of my uncertainty but didn't not warn me they weren't returnable except for credit, nor is that policy posted. I should have asked, but she definitely should have told me given my level of indecision. Since I am from out of town I ended up with mechandise I didn't really want in order to use up the credit.

This is a great store with a huge variety of products. Everything is very well displayed, including cards where you can read about each creator and their products. A great place to support multiple small businesses in one shop!

Kelli and Erin are so passionate about what they do. Their store just reflects the amount of time and love they put into their business. They are some of the most detail oriented individuals I have ever come into contact with it should be to no surprise that they are having so much success in this new endeavor. For anybody interested in the local trades and made in Mn type products, Smith and Trade Mercantile is a must see.

This is a cute store that is fun to shop in. The owners are friendly, and there are lots of locally made unique gift ideas. It’s not a big store but I walked around the store 3 times to make sure I saw everything and so many neat things!
