I wish my experience with this store was as favorable as prior reviewers. I ordered and paid for 4 tires through Goodyear and set up an appt for Tuesday, 11/21/2023. Goodyear was offering a substantial rebate by purchasing the tires this way. I dropped off the car at 9:00 am—called them at 1:30 pm to check on my car and was told they only had 2 tires—not 4–and it would be another hour. Along with the tires I had other service work done. The next day my check engine light came on. My husband checked my car and found a hose and a clamp were not connected. I went to the store to show the quality of work, spoke to one gentleman who just stared at me. He brought the manager up and I repeated my complaint again. Instead of just a simple apology, he told me it was my fault there were only 2 tires on hand because I ordered them on line. He said they did not know this until I brought my car in and they could only find 2 tires—again repeating it was because I ordered them on line. I asked why someone couldn’t call-send a text-whatever when my massive error was discovered and he just kept saying “we have no way of knowing how many tires there were until we had your car.” When I showed him photographs of the hose and the clamp, again no apology; “we’re human” and then said I was threatening him because I told him I was going to post a review. It wasn’t a threat, sir; I TOLD you that was my plan. Was I upset? Of course! I asked him if their human error would have left me stranded or cause me to pay for a service call, would he cover the expense and got the same stare.😐 Addendum to owner: I have the conversation recorded on my phone and would be happy to post it. If you were present and heard how upset I was, why didn’t you come out? My fear now is making sure the tires were put on correctly and all lug nuts are tightened correctly. ALSO I don’t think you were heroic by finding two additional tires. I ORDERED and PAID FOR 4 tires. Why would anyone be impressed that you found two more tires. Again—operative word is that I ALREADY PAID for FOUR tires—you have no excuse.

My vehicle had a problem that was difficult to diagnose but Granite City fixed it and got me back on the road. They didn’t try to add unnecessary repairs that so many others do. I will not go anywhere else for repairs, maintenance or tires for my vehicles againThe guys there are considerate and professional.

I am so very appreciative of their work. I got a flat tire on my way to work and they were able to get me in that very same day. I ended up needing to replace all 4 tires. They were great with giving me all my options and upfront with pricing!

I get my oil change done here. It's easy to schedule an appointment online. Fast service with friendly staff. They do an overall check of your vehicle and don't push any services. Prices for the oil change is good for the area.

I wanted to wait to write the review but my experience has aged well. Great service, great communication and a great price. I would recommend Granite City to all my coworkers and friends due to the way that they made me feel before, during and after. I am in no rush for more mechanical work but when I need some work done, Granite City will be my first choice.

Very happy with my experience. They were able to fit me in after work on an evening, when I am sure they would have preferred going home a little early. And they did not make me feel like I was any inconvenience. Very good service.

Yes vary happy with the outstanding work you guys did. Car feels great thanks for not pressuring me to get other repairs done that day. Motor works didn't make me feel welcomed when I went there. I have always had great service at Granite City Tire & Auto. I've been there so many times in an emergency with nail or screw sticking out of tire and they immediately got me in and fixed it. So nice to have a resource close and someone I can trust.

So I hate when a place treats you like you are an idiot! I went in with an ATV tire that had a slow leak. They spayed tire down found the spots it was leaking, not in area that could be fixed with a patch plug. First off the guy tried to sell me a set of tires without even knowing what I had for a machine, kept showing me mud tires when I clearly have trail tires. The tire in question has like 50 miles on it. But he was upselling me on 4 new tires. NOT really listening to what your customer wants OR needs. Then he tells me he can fix me up for like 60 bucks with putting a tube in the tire...ummm no! I tell him I dont want a tube in my tire he rudely states WELL THATS WHAT 90% of people do. I tell him no way I am getting stranded on the trail and NOT be able to just plug a tire and move on. (CLEARLY DOES NOT RIDE ATV) I tell him I will just take tire back and run some sealant for my supper slow leak. He again rudely states ...I! Would not run that BUT that is YOUR prerogative! ( I run no flat in my Can Am Ryker in my 2k $ mountain bike so ty MR. know it all! ) I go to pick up tire and mind you he just spayed the tire with liquid to find the hole did NOT fix it and charged me 25$ REALLY???? Have already swayed one friend from getting all 4 truck tires from this place. Treat your customers like they are not idiots . BTW I worked in a tire shop for 3 years and not ONCE did we charge for NOT fixing a tire and never treated a customer the way I was treated.Response to comment: Absolutely nothing wrong with presenting options ....but the side of attitude is UNPROFESSIONAL! And charging someone over 25 bucks to spray a tire with water is highway robbery NO WAY AROUND THAT!!! You did not even mention how your worker did NOT listen to my needs before offering me services. Again UNPROFESSIONAL! Your generic comment without an apology is unbelievable. Should not expect anything less from such a great place!!

Had very extensive work done and it was all done well! Had a recall issue and they gave me instructions to deal with it. It was not dealt with fully by the dealership so granite city took it upon themselves to advocate for me and what I needed. Great service!

I am always happy with the service I receive from GCTA. As the owner of an older model vehicle that requires on going repairs, I appreciate how their attentive mechanics notice things, and let me know about issues as they arise. Their service manager prioritizes issues so I can get the things repaired that need immediate attention, and gives me estimates on things that aren't urgent, so I know what needs attention in the future, then I can prepare for those things, which keeps my older model vehicle in good running condition. I've been taking my vehicles to Granite City Tire and Auto for many years and their friendly Store manager and service managers are always a pleasure to deal with. I am always pleased with the service I receive.
