My wife and I adopted Edwin, a 6 year old cat, a week ago today. After a couple days to adjust to his new home, he has settled in very well. He is so sweet and even loved having our 2 year old Granddaughter over for a visit. The staff are great to work with and the facility is very neat, clean and well kept. They take very good care of the animals and answered our questions with openness and honesty to help us find the best pet for our home.

Wonderful place. It's incredible, the sheer size of it and the amount of good work they do there. The dog I got from them is awesome, and I can not thank them enough for rescuing him!

I live in the cities and have a family Cabin in Crosby. Babinski was at Deerwood Days in August and that is where I got my newest family member, Beef Wellington, we call her Belly for short. A few months later we brought her back to the actual facility to be spayed and were so impressed. The facility and surrounding area are spacious and beautiful. The staff made me feel safe about leaving her and were so kind. 100% worth the time/drive. Babinski Foundation is an amazing place doing wonderful things for animals (and their people).

Not happy with how they handle adoptions at all. We just wasted 4 hours of our time driving, got attached to a puppy that we were told was available only to find out at the last second after all the paperwork cleared, that the dog was put on "hold" for someone else online as we were there. Had we known there was such a policy, we would have put this magical "hold" on this puppy. Definitely would not recommend this place!!

The dogs I've adopted from there have been great. The staff not so much. They tell you wrong info on the animals, they don't seem to want to look up any info about the animal for you. Would I go back there again to adopt? Hell yes. These are my girls.

The place is so fancy! clean but I only saw the front. I took a dog home with me...she was the sweetest thing but apparently was exhibiting different behaviors with me and the dogs at shelter. I was told she was good with other dogs. that between the fence she was not aggressive with her pound mates. MY BAD FOR NOT OBSERVING THIS FIRST BEFORE TAKING HER HOME....HINDSITE' THEY DIDN'T BRING HER OUT WHILE THERE WAS ANOTHER DOG IN THE WAITING ROOM...I brought her home 3.5 hours a way and she was totally aggressive with other dogs and animals...even startled me a bit...she is indeed aggressive with other dogs... she is pitty breed...So important to know this information...BEFORE LEAVING WITH THE DOG...I've owned two pits before each for over a decade...so it's not that I'm inexperienced with the breed...but I was not prepared for her aggressive behavior..I should have been told at least... it's extremely hard to believe she was not aggressive through fence after witnessing her behavior with other dogs....i was so so sad...I took her to petsmart...aggressive. I live with 30..lol.. yes...30 roommates that have dogsover occasionally.... after the aggressive behavior I took her back. I also noticed she was pretty mouthy... nibbles on the chin the hand, the the arm... no previous warning about that either... I'm so thankfull I chose to foster her first.. otherwise I'd have been out the $225.00 adoption fee...I CAN'T BELIEVE the shelter just letting her go without more warning.... SHE'S A PIT BULL BREED....IF SHE HURT A DOG OR PERSON... THEN SHE'S MADE OUT TO BE A BAD DOG AND ME A BAD OWNER.....I THINK WITH PITTY BREEDS SHELTERS NEED TO BE MORE CAREFUL WITH LETTING THESE BREEDS GO. SHE'S THE KIND OF DOG THAT WILL BE A FABULOUS PET BUT NEEDS WORK FIRST..I asked when I got there when I was bringing hing her back if I could observe her with other dogs...that request was literally ignored by shelter staff and dog was taken back to the back with an explanation of how dogs act different at shelter versus their new environment. Ok.. maybe so...no willingness to even allow me to see her through the fence..no suggestions on anything to help.. nothing...so frustrating. I called several trainers and was willing to work with her with help of shelter...BUT NOPE NOTHING FROM THEM.....I felt like loser and like I was taking her back to a prison..I just hope someone who can handle her adopts her... she's a really great dog for a person who lives alone... NO KIDS DUE TO HER NIPPY TENDANCIES...AND DEFINITELY NO OTHER DOGS UNLESS YOU HAVE A TRAINER OR KNOW HOW TO OVERCOME THE AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIORS THAT SHE HASTOWARDS OTHER DOGS....I THINK THE SHELTER IS DOING GREAT THINGS....but I feel duped...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE MORE CAREFUL WITH LETTING PIT BULL DOGS GO WITHOUT PROPERLY VETTING THEM AND POTENTIALLY AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIORS. I'M GOING SHE GETS ADOPTED TO THE RIGHT FAMILY.

We found an abandoned kitten in a log in a park. We showed up and were welcomed to this amazing facility so that this baby could find a wonderful home. Thank you!

My experience unfortunately was not a good one, I have never went to a shelter before to adopt but my son wanted a cat and thought ok at least at a shelter they have been vet checked. We fostered the kitten until she got spayed then moved forward with the adoption. I brought her in for the spay appointment about 9 hrs later I picked her up with the news she tested FIV positive which upset me that they didn't check her prior to fostering her. They did not feed her or give her a drink all day after the surgery. There is so much more I had an issue with but honestly I will not be going back there.

We love our newest addition to our family ruby❤ she's a beautiful husky German Shepard mix she had been transferred from one shelter to another until we found her, poor baby went in at 5 months old and finally got her forever home at 2 years old. Idk how to post pics otherwise I would, to my surprise she came home already potty trained and quite well mannered. Thank you so much for giving our family the opportunity to welcome her into our life's. The staff was wonderful and quite helpful with my other dog we had to introduce them, and with my two toddlers lol they were a handful after a long drive. We appreciate you guys ❤

Hi Babinski Shelter,We love Marley and wanted to share her latest picture on one of her daily walks. She is doing great – my husband and I love her – and like to think that she loves us too.She was a 9-year old Miniature Pinscher turned in to the Babinski shelter in the fall of 2017. We found her listed online in January 2018 and immediately adopted her. She was well taken care of at Babinski, where they spayed her and had some dental work done. Marley loves to have Kevin hold her and loves to sleep with us - and boy does she love her walks.Thank you for taking care of her in her time of need.Cheryl & Kevin

I have looked to adopt here before (though did not). Facilities are always very clean. My cat went missing recently, and I called them and sent them pictures, in case someone picked her up and brought her in. They did not have her, but I appreciated the time they took looming through their cats for her.

I adopted my dog here. I drove from 2 1/2 hours away and was very surprised how nicely kept the place was. The building alone was pretty darn impressive. The staff was also very welcoming and great to work with. I can tell my dog "of only a week" was in good hands because his temperament is perfect. He's 4 months old and It only took a week to get him almost totally potty trained and to sit and some other basic commands. It's as if they had already been working on it with him which is awesome. Would definitely recommend taking the drive out there and if your local that's even better.

This place is disgrace I brought two baby kittens there for surrender I notified the Babinski foundation I'd be coming to pick them up to Foster them when I showed up to pick up my cats they I found out they killed one of them the other one was starved nearly to death has broken legs all dirty and disoriented these cats were fine when I brought them there something is not right with that place nobody could explain to me what happened they gave me the runaround had me speak with several different people and wouldn't give me the cat's body to bury it properly I don't know what's going on there but something isn't right these kittens should not have been treated that way or starved to death I would never bring another animal there and I wouldn't suggest it for anyone else they do not take care of them they kill them or let them starve to death what a shame!

Very impressive facility. Orphaned pets are provided with elaborate individual habitats while awaiting placement and the staff member at the front desk very friendly and accommodating. I wasn't yet ready to adopt a pet and only came by on a sort of recon but I will definitely be looking forward to visiting them again when I am. I noticed that the staff member seemed to know each of the animals by name and personality and used that knowledge to help people find the pet best suited to them. Kudos!

I had an amazing experience here! Wonderful staff and very clean. I went on a few days ago and fell in love with a beautiful kitty. After I couldn’t stop thinking about her I emailed them and said they would place her on hold for me. I was there within 2 hours and now she’s home with me. I am so blessed and thankful. She’s now at her forever home. Thank you Babinski Foundation for an amazing adoption experience! I highly recommend going here! ❤️
