In the little town of Northome MN, from June to the first few days of September, I will drive to the Black Bear Drive In for a really good burger. Here the locals know they’ll find the ultimate burger with fresher fries then most places as well as a very generous portion, fried to perfection. They have a milkshake that can be made to your liking, from not to thin to extremely thick with or without extra ingredients like DQ’s blizzard. You won’t be disappointed. The price for the meal.will be a pleasant experience too.

Don't let the curb appeal deter you from trying this place. I was pleasantly surprised by the food at this seemingly run-down lunch spot. The burgers were delicious, my kids loved their hand-dipped corn dogs and we all had a bit of a chili dog. We also each chose an ice cream treat. One note, we arrived thinking it was a drive up restaurant. It isn't. You order inside at the window and eat inside or on outdoor seating.

Fabulous find on our way to Baudette! Huge burgers, juicy and delicious. Doesn't look like much from the outside but this was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Outside seating under a shade tree. We'll definitely stop again!

Great place to stop for food. If you're man enough try the bearbait appetizer. It's really good. The bacon cheeseburger was good too and the ice cream with cookie dough in it finished me off... definitely will he going back. Get here early though it gets crowded ;)

Food was quick, nice little road side stand. Really good burgers. Onion rings were ok nothing special, cheese curds were good and lots of them. Only one unisex restroom, the wait can get long.

Very large food menu with new items added all the time. Seasonal only from may to oct. Best soft serve chocolate ice cream ever. Just like a dairy queen but better. Limited parking and limited seating. Beware you get lots of ice cream for your money

For the area definitely 5 stars. Only accepts cash and check. ATM across the street though. Great burger quick order food. Very affordable prices and able to promptly handle our drop in group of 9. If you are looking for a small town Northwoods spot to stop try here. Very northern rural shop. Nice customer service.

Good little stop. We were traveling across northern MN and stopped for lunch. The Rueben and chicken wraps were good. Their sweet potato fries were quite tasty.

Service was friendly and food was fine, but the free water you are allowed is pretty rough and offputting. I get it, it's hard water, but it was quite tinted, off smelling, and off tasting. Makes me wonder about what goes into the ice and other drinks. Also, the prices, while not unfair, aren't quite as cheap as I would've guessed for a diner.

Visited this gem while vacationing on Island Lake. It’s everything it’s rated 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️...if you live here cherish this establishment! If your even a half hour out of your way to experience it...take the chance...you will not be disappointed. Great food..great service..

Our go to ice cream stop in Northome.We make at least 4 visits here for icecream or a burger during our annual week long visit to Nortshore Bay Resort. The banana splits are huge and very yummy❤
