I stay frequently at Poplar River Condos as I love the location and the beautiful King Kitchen Suites with Loft.I have stayed at Units 562 and 572 and keep returning. I love the King Bedroom with views of the Lake right from the bed and the fabulous Jacuzzi tub for 2. So relaxing!The full kitchen is great. We stock up on groceries in Grand Marais and enjoy many meals in.My kids love the loft bedroom. Having their own area was a treat for them.The fireplace in the living room was beautiful and the Large deck with BBQ was great.For eating out, nearby Cascade Restaurant was our favourite. Grand Marais and Tofte are not far away and both offer a multitude of restaurants.I've stayed in all seasons. Each one has it's charm. The on site trails down to the water to the shoreline are incredible, especially during sunrise and sunset. I definitely got my steps in.There are a lot of choices on the shore, but this feels like a second home to me and I will return as often as I am able. Thanks to the hosts of 562 and 572 for your well stocked and fantastic accommodations.

It is important to remember when booking just the guest rooms - not the condo units- you are relatively unsupported. The Wi-Fi is unsecured, you aren’t in a “hotel “ setting with an easy walk to services or food / amenities. The rooms are nice, clean, comfortable and peekaboo view of the lake. It is kind of like a very nice , expensive room rented in someone’s house .

Tremendous location for Alpine and Nordic skiing, hiking, snow shoeing, and apres ski activities. Full kitchen, dining and living rooms with fireplaces, many big screen TVs , and Jacuzzi tubs.Food & drinks: Winery 1/2 mile away.

I spent a lovely four nights in a Poplar River condo that was situated beautifully on the lake shore. The views from all rooms were spectacular. Here are some from the bedroom showing an early morning sunrise, a nearly full moon, and the bedroom vantage point. The condo was comfortable, nicely equipped and made for a very pleasant and relaxing stay! I'd encourage others to consider making this your North Shore home-away-from-home for a few days. I drove into Grand Marais several times while staying here in order to take a class at North House. A beautiful drive and energized by a quick stop at Fika coffee house just 4 minutes from the condo.

This is a fabulous place to stay!! Each room has a king size bed, whirlpool, fireplace, and own deck. The view over looking Lake Superior is absolutely beautiful, regardless of the time of year. We are NOT part of Lutsen Lodge Resort, so book your stay with Cascade Vacation Rentals. All the comforts of home with none of the work:)

I took a solo trip to disconnect and hike the Superior trails this summer and it was glorious. I stayed in Unit 503, California King, Tub in the shower, kitchenette with small fridge, TV to cast from laptop or phone. Fantastic views. I was able to make my reservations easily and receive clear instructions for check-in and check-out. I enjoyed myself and would go again.Here are Few things I wish were different:1. Jetted or soaker tub: This is advertised under amenities and I was really looking forward to it, but compared to previous years, there were no salts, bath bombs or bubbles made available. I mean, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided; I expected that to be available too. Would have been a nice treat after hikes2. Last summer I biked about 25 miles on the Gimtchi trail. This summer, I completed few hikes: Demon's kettle, Fantasia Overlook, Oberg Mountain, Pincushion. I didn't get a chance to go on the Lutsen Mountains, but I am reserving it for my winter skiing.Food & drinks: Grand Marais is just 30 minutes away where I have all my favorite: The World's Best Donuts, Angry Trout, The Fisherman's Daughter (Fish and chips). If you're taking MN 61 north, make sure to take the scenic route and stop at New Scenic Cafe and the French River Wayside and Silver Creek Cliff.

Perfect spot for a family. Looks like they are making new trails down to the shore. Adjacent to the biking trail. Nestled between Grand Marais and Tofte. Can walk to Lockport market or the General Store. Great views of the lake and a short hike down to the river! Rooms were great and provided everything we needed.Rooms: Great fireplace in each room. Comfortable, clean, and inviting rooms. Beds were great and clean. Cool north shore decor in each room as well.Nearby activities: Biking, fishing, Gondola, ski hill, winery, hiking, shopping. It's in the middle of all of it.Walkability: Easy walk down to the shore or river. You can walk up the hill to access the shops and winery on the ski hill. You can also walk into downtown Lutsen for the Fika coffee, Lockport Market, or the General Store.

I have stayed at Poplar River Condos (unit 612) in both the summer and winter--- it is a great getaway spot for any season! The views of the lake are incredible, and access to many spots for hiking and skiing are an easy drive away. Within walking distance from the condo are the lakeshore, and trails along Poplar River.

Wow, just wow!Poplar River Condos are right on Lake Superior and bordered by Poplar River. Very close to Lutsen Mountain & Lutsen Winery. Walking distance to Superior National Golf Course and Gitchi-Gami Trail. A few minutes from downtown Lutsen, Grand Marais, as well as Cascade and Tettegouche State Parks.We stayed in units 534, 535 and 536 and they are beautiful! These units are fully remodeled with new appliances, an open kitchen, beautiful leather furnishings (including a COMFORTABLE sleeper sofa!) and gorgeous photography on the walls!We had amazing lake views with eagles flying overhead as we sipped drinks on the deck and listened to the river flow into Lake Superior. Beautiful Lakeshore trail and wave watching on the rocks! We also really liked the versatility of the full condo layout, with options for groups with 3 separate units that can be reserved all together (sleeping 10 comfortably) or separately for 2-4 in individual units. This design is great for groups seeking together time as well private space.Highly recommended!

A great place to stay for a fun vacation up north! My three friends and I have stayed several times in unit 612, which has been recently renovated with new carpet, furniture, kitchen appliances, and artwork, and has stunning views of Lake Superior. From there, it's a quick jaunt to my favorite destinations in the area, including (but certainly not limited to) Oberg Mountain, Mount Josephine, and Grand Marais. After we spent our days hiking or skiing, the condo was the perfect place to play board games, watch movies, and relax. We're always sad to leave, but always look forward to coming back.

Amazing location. Great spot for the outdoor adventurer. Super close to the Lutsen Ski area and cross country ski trails. Just down the road from Tettegouche and Palisade. Epic access to Rock Climbing, Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, Nordic Skiing, Fat Biking, Snow shoeing, and more! There is a winery walking distance away, and Grand Marais only 20 minutes away.
