Gorgeous views from the patio. Food tasted great. Sweet potato fries are worth the up charge. Friendly wait staff. Recommend the wild rice burger...nice vegetarian option. We went on a Sunday around 5 and were seated immediately. Will definitely return on our next trip to the north shore.

For an appetizer we ordered the Walleye Sliders. Pretty good! Wife had the Papa Burger. I had the North Shore Melt. The melt was extremely thin, for reference see the photo, it was not much thicker than the thickness of a french fry. I think this should be on the 'lite' section of the menu. Was not impressed by that.

Dog friendly patio and staff! Got the papa's burger it was delicious, juicy burger with melty cheesy and flavorful bacon! Great service was checked on by our server and the manager Lukas and Brian (I think)! Fantastic food, fantastic view and fantastic service thanks for making our meal so enjoyable!

Superb Patio view of the mountain! Pizza and kids meals were great, however the menu was limited to those options for some reason. We enjoyed a local beer from Grand Marais, and Wine from North Shore Winery which both were stellar. We even saw a small patch of snow in the middle of June! Great stop on our trip!!

Enjoyed our time at Papa Charlie’s. The waited section was understaffed the night we went, which we thought was odd for a Valentines/Presidents Day weekend. That didn’t bother us tho. We sat in the bar area and ordered a drink and pizza. Pizza was great. Loved the taste and texture of the crust. Our next trip to Lutsen we will definitely stop in again and try other foods.

Menu is very limited, there are only few options. Not the highest quality. Staff is very polite.Generally it is quite pricy for what you get. I recommend to go to the other restaurants than staying there.

Was expecting music for Saturday night, but they did not have it. Also the food was just normal bar food. It was good, but nothing special.

Decent food, little pricey as it is there at lutsen mts. Service can be little friendly and vocal to make atmosphere light and relaxing. Location is fab and that’s the only reason for 3 stars 🤣Paid around $85 with tips for a meal of 4 adults.

Decided to try this place out after looking over the menu and reading reviews. Ordered the Hawaiian pizza and it did not disappoint. Delish! Was enough pizza for the two of us for two meals. And who can beat this view from their deck?! Nice selection of beers on tap for my husband. And cocktails for me - red sangria, raspberry Moscow mule, and Papa's punch (a tropical rum drink). Our waiter, Cam, was a very nice young man and quick to tend to our needs. We will definitely be back on our next trip up the North Shore!

I have been to many concerts here and it's a favorite venue that books some great Minnesota bands. Sightlines and sound are perfect, whether on the floor or up in the balcony.The issue today was with the staff. Past concerts involve showing your ticket and ID at the door. This time we had to return outside to the Lutsen ticket booth next door and prove we bought tickets by pulling up the email verification, then return to the venue entrance to be wristbanded. Several staff didn't seem to know what they were doing nor what to do with a paying concertgoer and the wristband was put on so tight my hand immediately turned purple. During the gig, I had to ask the bartender to turn off the big screen tvs so we could see the band on stage. Also, some bartenders didn't know what they were serving or what beers they were offering.

Lifetime highlight was seeing Trampled By Turtles, Lissie, and Charlie Parr at Papa Charlie's. Not sure how they're going to top that, but any old night, any time of year, it's a fun place to hang out ... friendly staff ... good food ... good drinks

Pretty good food. If you're the type of person who likes a different spin on pub fare, you'll like Papa Charlie's. Interesting menu choices with flavors that depart from the norm. For as long as I've been coming to Lutsen, the service has been consistently decent. Depending on where you're seated and of course time of day and what your mood is, you may find the music a bit loud. This particular afternoon we were seated directly beneath one of the speakers and it was hard to have a conversation. It was sufficiently busy to ask to be seated elsewhere.

Going to caveat this review with we did a pickup... We submitted the order online and realized there was no option to select a time for pickup. We called them immediately after submitting the order to see if they could hold off until our desired time and was told the pizzas were already in the oven. This seemed impossible but whatever. The wings were completely fine I will admit, but for $30 a pizza Papa Charlie must have lost his mind. At that price point, it better be better than a frozen pizza. I can't believe how expensive this place is. Location location location.

We were in town for the night to see the band Cloud Cult. We arrived early and ate at the restaurant before the show. The food was delicious, the sound was spot on, and the band was amazing!

Not one to leave negative feedback but I just feel customers should be aware. It was clear our waiter is very new and still learning. We waited for service during all phases of our meal. After the meal we had to send the kids back to the hotel because no one would bring us a bill. I even stood up for 10 minutes. Then just went to the bar to pay. Bill was wrong and even after correcting it still couldn't explain what the "on the rocks" charge was. It was an hour meal that took 2

My family stayed at the resort which was connected to the restaurant. First, when we arrived on Saturday evening and checked into the resort and asked if the restaurant was opened we was told it was closed. On our way to the resort my husband checked the website which stated that the restaurant closed at 11pm but that was not the case once we checked in. So needless to say Saturday evening we had to go to bed hungry. Then Sunday evening we decided to finally have dinner at the restaurant and got there about 8:45pm. Once we we got seated and the waitress came over the first thing she asked is are we ready to order because they stopped serving at 9pm, so we need to order fast before the kitchen closed. We then ordered our meal, once we got our food the mashed potatoes was cold, and my salmon was luke warm. My husband's meal was also the same way. After finishing our meal and waited for our waitress to bring us the check she was no where to be found. We sat for about 30min waiting for the waitress, after she never showed up we went to the bar to see if she would be there and she wasn't. One of the other staff member had to go looking for our waitress, and once he found her he told her we we're waiting to be checked out. Honestly, to say the least, I was NOT impressed with the service at all! Although the food was cold it was well seasoned and taste really good. I just wished it would have been delivered hot to really enjoy it.

From start to finish we were otherwise unimpressed. Starting with slow greeting to being addressed as "ladies" (male & female couple) not once but twice. The food was not much better than the service. A burger with onions that had to have gone bad a week prior. Online reviews boasted great sweet potato fries, so naturally I ordered them. The waiter confirmed then brought out over salted potato rounds. Our order of fish was tolerable but again the fries were overly salted as well. Topped off with a $70.00 bill. Would stringly suggest finding an alternative place to eat.

Loud hard rock music, eccentric menu items. 2 sodas, 1 soup, 1 cheese curd, 1 burger, 1 fish & chips $78 ... we're used to superior, wi prices which would have been about $34-$36 . Unfortunately we were seated under a speaker and could not conversate but grateful that my husband has gorgeous eyes, so spent our dinner just staring at eachother (noticed man next to us needs to trim his nose hair) so that wraps up our experience!!

Felt compelled to leave a review here. We travel a lot for work and live in Berlin- where we have one of the best food scenes in the world. Got the Turkey pear sandwich, chicken Cesar, pepperoni pizza, and brownie. Contrary to the lunatics who seem to hate everything and rates this place with one or two stars, we weren’t expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. Some of the best fries we’ve had too- so I hope whatever they’re doing now they keep it up. Impressed. Also- prices are more than reasonable per the “California prices” person. What does that even mean? If you want McDonalds prices, head to Two Harbors- there’s a McDonald’s there and I’m sure the staff here will not miss your passive aggressive comments. (Also staff is great). Will be back.

We were very happy with our experience!Reading the reviews might give you mixed feelings (it did for me) BUT I recommend giving this beautiful restaurant a try. We were greeted when we walked in (we sat in the restaurant), our service was very fast, our food seemingly came out right after we ordered, our server was very personal, over all it was a very enjoyable experience!We ordered cheese curds and we both ordered the Western burger and all of it was very good! Also the table behind us enjoyed their pizza as well.

Overpriced for the quality of the food. Expectations weren't high but our family of 5 wasn't very happy for the overall experience.
