Go elsewhere, they can't help you. Tried to support local business store, used internet to find local store with what i needed. Their website stated it was in store and in stock. I went to store, they said did not carry it but could get it shipped to the store. Amazon was half the price and shipped to my house. The customer service was sad, and it took 3 people to stand around me randomly spouting unuseful information to say it was my fault. The repair is now complete and it took less time then i wasted going to this store. The gas money lost was what i spent at Amazon for the parts. SO if I had been smart I would have never considered shopping here, as it cost me time and money, and accomplished nothing. Last time i try and help this local store stay in business. Do better in store and on your website.

Just another ace, except horrible customer service. I was literally standing in the open (next to Red snowblower in picture) waiting for an associate to help me get a bit off a secured shelf for over 5 minutes. The cashier even made eye contact multiple times but did not ask once if I needed help. Then when somebody did walk past me, they said somebody else would have to help me because they were already doing something.

Super helpful staff!!! I came in and needed a piece for my sink that would attach to my hose so I could fill up my kids pool with warm water and I had no idea what I needed, and the gentlemen there helped me get the right piece and were so nice and polite and professional. They didn’t make me feel bad that I didn’t have any measurements or Knowledge.

Not a very great experience at this Ace Hardware store. I ordered a grill table online about a week ago for pickup at this location. I arrived there to be told that the only table they had in store was the display model and I couldn't take it. The staff told me that he meant to cancel my order. He tells me he will cancel my order now. I wait around for a couple minutes to see if the email comes through and it never does so they sign a sheet of paper telling me it's cancelled. I still haven't received a refund for that purchase so I call the store today and a guy answers the phone and tells me he doesn't know how to help me. He puts me on hold and tells me that refunds take 2-5 business days. I tell him it's been past 5 days so what I should do now. He tells me "I don't know." I say can I talk to someone who does know? He tells me everyone is busy and so I'll probably have to come to the store for help. I've already driven to this store to not get what I need and now they are asking me to come in again. I asked if there was any other way and he says no. I called the Corporate office and they tell me the order was never cancelled. They put me on hold while THEY call this location and they are able to get it cancelled and resolved. Seems a little ridiculous you have to call the Corporate office to have the staff here do what they need to.

Everything is always thrown away, the bathrooms are super dirty, and the mother's place is covered with merchandise, it is never open, the Somali workers always have empty water bottles in the bathroom.

Stopped in to pick up a snow blower that this location had in stock. I knew exactly what I wanted walking in, so it was pretty quick and easy. They happened to have one of the exact snow blowers I came for already pre-assembled that they let me take home. They helped quickly run through how to use the snow blower and helped load it into the car. They are a certified Ego dealer, so they said if there are any issues to let them know and they can help.

I bought a charcoal chimney starter to pick up at this Ace Hardware location. That part was smooth. I found out it was the wrong size and came to return it. The cashier, Gerry, was standoffish at first and said I couldn't return it because I said I bought it online. Turns out what I needed to say is that I bought online and picked it up from this store. I offered to show the cashier my order confirmation that would have cleared things up but he wouldn't look at it. He immediately called for his supervisor and was rude to her too. Made me feel uncomfortable. He was also condescending when I tapped my credit card in the wrong spot on the payment terminal.Given that ACE has prices that are across the board higher than Lowe's or Home Depot, you would expect top-notch service which unfortunately I felt I didn't receive.

Excellent experience and awesome crew. Came in to buy a new snowblower. They even offer me to add in some gas to see the blower start up plus walk me on how to use it and load it up. A++

Thanks to Ace and the great people here, I've learned to do quite a few things myself instead of paying a service provider. One of the staff has even encouraged me, saying I'm quite capable to do my own home repairs. I especially like how convenient the location is, right here in the neighborhood. They carry a great variety of items and seasonal things too, amazing how just what I need is there every time! Questions answered, friendly atmosphere, welcoming. New layout recently has me wandering a bit, but seems more open. Thanks for being in the neighborhood, Ace!!

Customer service is generally ok but their locksmith service is horrible. I’ve been to ACE hardware in Cottage Grove more than 6 times trying to have them remake the keys they duplicated because they wouldn’t work on the doors. Some of the staff seem to not be happy when you ask for locksmith services. Management either needs to retrain their staff and or get rid of the service all together because I’ve never had a good experience utilizing this service at ACE.

To be honest, I had never gone to a hardware store before. I always rented apartments and any basic tools I could get from amazon or walmart. However, I just bought a house and needed a few things (garden hose, rake, etc)The place is pretty well stocked and I didn't have any issues finding anything. It isn't as big as say a frattalones or lowes but you can find your basic stuff here. The employees were nice but just a little condescending. but... I guess I can expect a little bit of snark on a beautiful saturday morning if you are stuck at work.

A good neighbor hood hardware store. You will need to do most of your own finding parts and such because of the tight work force. Currently the store strongly smells of fertilizer ... Because a lot of the bags are stored in side the store (just a heads up for people that have reactions to that smell). Friendly stall and able to ring out quickly. Also offers live bait for fishing.

Staff is very helpful and friendly. They will help you find the right bolts, screws, etc. even if you only need a couple and cost a total of 33 cents.Great place to go to get parts for projects etc. without having to go to big box store. Quick and easy in and out. Also sell the good name brand paints.

Usually avoid this store. Few times I’ve been in over the last 5 years staff never seemed very helpful or professional. This ace doesnt seem to be the helpful place.Recall a few years ago a high school age girl behind the counter said sometime along the lines of poor hygiene about a customer.

This place is fantastic. I personally love great customer service, and that is exactly what I get every time I stop here. Gerry in particular made my last visit memorable. I came in for a small screwdriver to fix a watch I have. Instead of asking what kind of screwdriver I needed, Gerry asked what I was using it for. He hooked me up with a watch repair kit that I have used to fix a great deal of my watch collection. I appreciate him caring about the WHY of my purchase! Highly recommend this place.

Super friendly staff! Very helpful and resourceful. It's great to have an awesome little hardware store so close by and not have to run to a big box store for simple things. I love thier Meyer's cleaning selection, bird feeders, canning supplies, as well as quick service for having keys made or grabbing a box of nails. Also, one of the best locations I've come across for kids sleds in the late season.

They are always friendly and helpful! You never have to look around for an item on your own. Some stores cut costs by having a short staff, causing you to have to find things on your own. You Never have to say the words ... there is never a clerk around, because they are always there to help you. I'd give more than 5 stars if possible.

Tonight, I picked up our snowblower and the team member was super helpful, courteous, and he helped me load the snowblower into my vehicle. Before we loaded it, he unscrewed the hood of my blower too without hesitation. I apologize I didn't get his name, but his service was outstanding!!

The first time I went there I saw more employees than customers, but no one offered any help while I searching around the store. There was even one standing near me when I was looking for a matching nut to the bolt I brought in and he didn't even acknowledge me, let alone offer to help. The last item I needed was a couple feet of tubing that staff needed to cut. I walked to the back window counter where a few employees were talking to each other. They took turns glancing at me without otherwise acknowledging me before one finally came over. Then at checkout I had to point out an error as one of my items was scanned twice, but at least this worker was polite. I really wouldn't have thought anything about the experience in this store if only two people were working, but it's the fact that about 6 employees in a small store were less help than a self-checkout and a pair of scissors would have been. I've been to home depot about 100 times and never thought anything negative about their customer service.Edit: I went back to the store for a really good black friday deal and the staff member at the front counter (middle aged male, short dark hair) was very helpful and funny. Maybe I just had a unusual experiance the first time.

Checked the Ace website for an item and was told that a different Ace store (closer to my home, but not nearby) had it in stock. Drove there, but they had none.Went home, checked the Ace website, again, and was told this store had the item. Not wanting a repeat of what had happened, I called and this store, specifically asked them if they had what I needed (even providing their part number ), and was told they had two. Drove there -- none in stock and no offer to help get what I needed. No offer to check when more might come in, no offer to order one for me, no offer to check inventory at nearby stores. Nothing. Which was also my experience at the first Ace I had visited.The only helpful comment I did get was that the Ace website is always wrong about store inventory. Interestingly enough, that was virtually the same comment I got at the first Ace store.I had planned on buying two other items during my visits, but that didn't happen.

I do not recommend this business - Mask are required - no exceptions- (can not wear one medical reasons) - Customer/ Associate service ignored the problem, instead of helping find what I needed , I was escorted out of the store by (Jack) very rude employees. Talked to the GM - Mr. Niederkorn - his response was the same reaction - Could care less about customer service. Completed my selection / purchase else-ware without any issues.

I have to say Gerry or Geraldo that's works here is such an asset, along with all the staff, just incredibly helpful and more importantly kind and thoughtful on a personal level.They've always guided me right on what to buy at the lowest price for my needs, but on a personal level employees showed a lot of compassion after I had a back surgery, making sure I was ok and wishing me well.Never thought I'd give a hardware store 5 stars not being a handy guy myself, but the staff is so welcoming, this is the only hardware store I go to anymore. A+++ staff and service!
