Fairfax vet clinic is friendly and affordable. We saw Dr. Steffel and she was kind and compassionate. I appreciate what she did for Annie my dog, even though it was a tough visit. The doctor went above and beyond. I highly recommend this vet clinic.

Everyone knows you, and your animals names. ATTENTION! The previous review was for Diane, who we were customers with since she opened (over 30yrs.) Apparently that means nothing to the new vet. We brought a sick cat in last weak, she gave her medicine, but not much hope, which we expected. The medicine did not work, so we called this morning to have her put down. They were sooo busy, they would call us later. They finally called and said 1:20 TOMORROW!! Seriously? They said they would call back to try to get it sooner, whoopee, 10:40 tomorrow, instead of 1:20. I said "can't somebody just come out to the car and do it?" Oh no, it's a process, it takes a half an hour. Come on! Diane recently put our Rottweiler down, and she was gone in less than a minute. This cat weighs 4lbs! When I went to leave this review, I saw they had emergency hours - for preferred customers (or something to that effect). If we are not preferred customers after 30+ years with Diane, I'd like to know who is!

I called to schedule a follow up apt from a spay Dr alaine did Tues Nov 28th and the receptionist tonya stated that she would not do business with me because of the person I purchased my dogs from she. then started giving out private names and information about another person and started talking about the person I bought from as well as another person...one of which I looked up and via the name given by tonya that the person she named is not even a client. Also the person I bought my dogs from is in fact not a breeder I personally went to her home and picked up these dogs as pets ..tonya then stated that it is absolutely correct that she is denying my dogs re check and exam because of the place I chose to purchase. ! Very rude and unprofessional and behavior as a new client with no outstanding bills or even a record there she treated me very poorly and said I was not to never set foot there when I have never set foot in there to begin with. And then proceeded to tell me she is glad she has my phone number and will be adding me to a blacklist to not do business with in future all because of where my pets came from.

Needed an urgent care appt for my pup as my current Vet was not able to accommodate me. Fairfax Vet was. I had not been to Fairfax in at least 5 years, so I was surprised to see the improvements and change in vet and staff. Pleasantly surprised! New building is amazing, clean and state of the art. Staff is very nice and professional. So impressed with the young Veterinarian and her assistants. Our pup received a very thorough exam and we received a detailed explanation. I was expecting our bill to be very high but I was pleasantly surprised that it was lower than my current Vet would have been. Good Vets are hard to find. Great Vets are even harder to find. We will be looking at switching to Fairfax to take care of our pup from now on.

Grateful to have access this extraordinary Fairfax Veterinary Clinic. The staff there are knowledgeable and comforting. They were able to care for my 2 stray cats. Dr. Diane was great with the 2 cats. She offered to keep them over night to get both of them fixed. This staff was more than flexible with my schedule. I highly recommend this Veterinary Clinic. You guys are amazing and it is a blessing to have you to care for my animals :).

This veterinary practice is not a place to go. They pick and choose who they will see. They think I am a disgusting dirty breeder. That is the furthest thing from the truth. I am not a breeder. They will not see me because they say I am a breeder.

I get a very good read so far. Called late in the afternoon and was able to schedule a 7:30 a.m. euthanization for my rabbit the next morning , which luckily did not need to be done.. I called her 40 minutes prior to the appointment and she was perfectly kind about the whole thing, and was trying to be helpful about how to help him get better as well. 🙏🏽

The team in Fairfax is amazing. As a recent transplant from Arizona, we had to take our two small dogs for a checkup. We have since adopted a rescue kitten that appeared to have been run over. DR Diane brought him back from the edge. She has rid us of mites, fleas and worms in only the last 6 weeks. She's our savior here. And pricing is amazing.

The staff here are some of the kindest and most caring I have ever encountered. Diane is also the most compassionate and personable vet I have ever met, she cares so much for every animal she encounters and always wants to make sure the visit is easy and pain free.They are also very helpful when it comes to cost of procedures and visits.Even if I were to move many towns away I would still come see Diane because I know I'll get the best service here.

They are reasonably priced and good to all my animals. Dr. Diane is professional, straight forward and a no nonsense old fashioned small town veterinarian. If u want a goofy, hands all over your pet, invasive baby talking dr., go elsewhere. I know my big male rott would not appreciate that kind of handling at all. The staff is attentive, kind and total professionals who know their job. I just put down my 16 year old German shepherd/chow mix. She was my velcro dog, always there shadowing me 24/7. It was a heartbreaking and devastating loss. Dr. Diane helped me to maintain a quality of life for her until it was no longer possible and she became, due to a prior traumatic injury, totally paralyzed in her back end. Dr. Diane was so good to my son and I, as she knew that to us, this is family. She was close to tears and her assistant had tears running when I turned to looked her after saying goodbye to my Zena. I then received the kindest sympathy expression via U.S. mail from the whole staff. I have been taking all my animals to Dr. Diane for almost 30 years with absolutely NO plan to change that program - which is best for all my 4 legged family members. God bless you Dr. Diane and your whole staff, including the four-legged ones!

Lot to say about this place. Vet doesn’t like any dog that isn’t a lab. Told us many times that she hates corgis and gave us attitude every time we brought ours in. Always very rude and acted as if we were bothering her by giving her business. We stopped going when we had to put my mom’s corgi down. Friday he was fine, Monday we said our goodbyes. My mom called Saturday because he was limping, vet said he was fine and seemed annoyed that she asked. By Sunday he was totally paralyzed in his back legs and vet got very upset and told my mom that the damage was irreversible and that she should have called sooner. My mom was in tears. Putting down a younger pet without warning is already awful and traumatic, no need to make it worse by blaming a good, loving owner. We found a new vet now.

We had another lovely stray cat at our house. I brought him in to get shots until I could find him a home. Dr. Diane saved me from becoming 'a crazy cat lady' when she offered to help us find a home. I already have 3 cats and 2 dogs, plus my daughters 2 cats while she is traveling. So kind!She and her staff always give great care. We are lucky to have them.

Diane is an amazing Veterinarian, I have been going to her since first getting pets when I was about 19 years old (20 years now). Fairfax has been awesome to us. We always check around for the best prices. And Fairfax vet clinic Has always been less expensive. We have been able to get in relatively fast. Do not have for a month for an appointment. And they love my pets. I was in there with my 2 Big dogs and the one is a complete baby. Any pain he will freak out. As the vets were giving him a shot they showered him with rubs and love to distract him. It worked. Laughed at that. Would recommend.

I fostered animals for Renville/Sibley Humane Society and she housed some and was the Vet for them, it was so nice to be a part of the world that truly cares for animals and wanted them to have a good home and health! I will drive 1000 miles if it means she's in charge of my pets health and well being!!!

We travel to Fairfax from Hutchinson, MN (50 miles) to save big $$ on annual vet care needs for our 3 dogs and 2 cats.Vet care is both excellent and efficient. Staff is friendly.... and very good at their jobs!!
