The deli section here is top notch. I go to lunch here everyday, and get something new each and every time. The grocery store overall has quite the wide selection, especially for being a small town grocery store. They have a liquor store attached here, which has a great selection of many types of liquor and beer. There is also a gas station attached. Super convenient.

I have Mixed feelings about coming here due to my previous experiences.I recently visited this store, and while the overall experience was satisfactory, I feel compelled to share my concerns about the Deli section. Unfortunately, my visits to the Deli have been marred by the presence of a manager who displays unprofessional behavior.It's disheartening to witness this manager publicly berating her employees, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for both staff and customers. On several occasions, I've observed her yelling at employees, leaving one visibly upset. It's not only unpleasant for customers but also raises serious concerns about workplace morale.What's particularly troubling is the apparent lack of support from other team members when this behavior is happening, her colleagues often seem indifferent, ignoring the one lady as if she's invisible. This lack of teamwork contributes to an unhealthy work environment.Harassment in the workplace is both ethically and legally unacceptable. It's my hope that the store management sees my review and addresses these issues promptly to ensure a more positive and respectful atmosphere for both employees and customers. Taking appropriate action, such as retraining or reconsidering managerial roles, would greatly benefit everyone.

It would be good customer service to call or text the customer if you do not have an item ordered online for pick-up. I called to suggest this and spoke with Amanda about this ongoing situation with my online orders. Amanda simply said they don't have time to call everybody about missing items. She is supposed to be the Manager of this Dept. but obviously has never been trained in Customer Service. Other services I occasionally use send me a text msg. if they don't have a product I ordered. It's called Customer Service. I got one gallon of milk and never received the two boxes of cereal for the kids amongst other items, some of which also didn't arrive. I placed a $91.00 order and only received $66.00 worth of groceries. If Coborn's cannot provide this service adequately, without all the excuses, perhaps you shouldn't provide the service at all. Two weeks before this I got home and noticed an extra bag of items I did not order, lots of veggies, fruits etc. I called Coborn's and asked if they would like to come pick up the extra items and I was told I would need to return the items. Here again, terrible customer service. I did get back in my car and returned the items but I felt as though Coborn's should have came and gotten them, or simply apologized for the error and told me I could keep the items. How safe is food that went elsewhere, returned and then gets resold? Hopefully it went right into the garbage for safety reasons. If that is the case, then why not just let me keep the product, instead of me returning it just to be thrown out. Seems like that food was simply attached to the proper order and sold.I would also like to mention the little box next to where I place my order (Allow Substitutions) I check that box but have never received any substitutions. I simply get surprised when I get home and see how much product I didn't receive. If it seems like I am rambling, I am. I also Manage in retail and would never talk to my customers the way Amanda talked to me.

3/17/2024You need to make sure not to hire people who want to be rude at 11 in the morning on a Sunday to a father and daughter. If they want to be privileged brats chatting amongst one another do it outside of a place of business. So very disrespectful not just to the customers and business but to the community as well.

Having problems checking out at Coborns in Belle Plaine. Tried to scan my groceries for the electronic coupons at the customer kiosk. I could not figure out how to scan the groceries. Asked the night manager Brad and teller Henry what to do to make sure I get the electronic coupons. Neither new. Also Henery didn't ring up all my groceries. So I had to run my card a second time. That does cost me more money. They did give me a $5 coupon. To the lady next in line. Just because they messed up doesn't give you the right to say anything to me. You can wait in line or go to a different line. I don't need to be harrassed by you because you don't want wait.You need to mind your own business. Once I suggested I can call the Police to help you with your problem you became quiet fast. Where is the training for these employees. This has been becoming a common problem at all Coborns stores.

Came through on my way home from a hunting trip. The young man at the deli counter was incredibly helpful and after pulling the trigger on some fresh baked chicken, I was extremely surprised at how awesome it was. Will probably have to make a trip just to come back for more baked chicken because it is freaking delicious!

The store is great but they hire some untrustworthy employees who has no sympathy for what they do and how they treat others and overcharge customers by over scanning items. So it's okay for employees to overcharge customers but it's not okay for customers to steal 🤔. Need more training at this store.

This is a second time I've been to this store and I have to say. I'm not impressed the little kids that work are nothing about little Damn Snots.None of them are very respectful or anything . Very Rude..When they bag up your groceries They throw everything in one bag, I had to tell them to rebag and theybrolled Their Eyes at Me...Just not a pleasant Customer service experience.

Once again go in and so many things out of stock. Including sale items. No one can ever answer the question is what if your competition beats your front page price. Nothing super about this store. Go somewhere else first.

Great service I tried to order a specialty cake from a different store and was told no due to the holiday. It was Tuesday and I needed the cake Sunday. I happened to be at my local Coburn store Wednesday for holiday food shopping and asked if they could make a cake order for me and was very surprised I could get the exact specialty cake I had been looking to order with a 48 hour notice holiday or no holiday. I will only be ordering cake from my local Coburn now

Very rude customer service. Several occasions workers have yelled at my children. At self check out with my husband and kids I was questioned whether or not I scanned something in my child’s hands. He had to double check the screen and clearly saw it was indeed scanned. It felt like I was being watched the whole time. It was really uncomfortable! On another occasion I had a teen worker tell me what to do with my child in the cart and how she was sitting wasn’t allowed!? I have never experienced anything like this at a store in my life. I’m not making this up. If I could give -100 billion stars I would. 👎 Go elsewhere. Not to mention, the prices are outrageous!

The definition of participation trophy, Coborn's gets points just for being the only grocery store in town. Selection is lacking and prices are high. The staff is generally friendly and the liquor store selection is good. Exactly the type of place you'd expect to find in a small town. Acceptable if you need a single ingredient you forgot, but if you are able, plan your grocery shopping while you are out of town.

this must be the inferno. tortured ancient emaciated souls loiter in every breathable space, ostensibly to chainsmoke cigarettes and occupy every available parking stall. nothing you need is here, no honorable deed commemorated. its only purpose seems to be as placeholder for the vacant lot it will one day become.

I usually think of this store as a very last choice when it comes to buying food when visiting my Aunt in Belle Plain but this last time I went I was very pleasantly surprised. Every single employee I encountered was very friendly, helpful and patient which during my last visit in particular took a great amount of patience on my end so I can't imagine the poor young man behind the register waiting on me. He was so understanding and very polite and friendly as well as professional. I really wish I would've gotten his name so I could tell his boss how wonderful he was with me and my friend. I will definitely be going back to this store in the future when I visit my Aunt.

I'm not from Belle Plaine, I'm from the cities. I come down to visit my best friend several times a year. On my way home I always stop at Coborns on my way home. They always have something I need for a better price. Thank you!/

The website is difficult to use you really have to hunt for stuff. It doesn't list everything even if it's in stock. I think yo slightly cheaper than the Radamachers in Jordan but I would not like to spend an hour looking for things as it defeats the purpose of using online pick up.

This place keeps on a steady pace downward. When we first moved into the area it was the only place we went grocery shopping and now we go out of our way to avoid it. Either go to St. Petet, LeSueur or Jordan for your grocery and pharmacy needs.Latest trip was to pick up a medication that had been sent to them the night before, so I figured that by 3:00 the next day when I went in it would be prepared, nope had to wander around the store for 45 minutes checking out sickly produce, empty spice racks and filthy floors.Similarly had a medication sent to them several months ago for my inhaler and it took them 5 days to prepare.

I’m really getting tired of shopping here. Produce is average sometimes rotten on the shelf but priced like I’m shopping at Lunds. Items are not stocked correctly, or priced correct. Other basic items I can get a lot cheaper at the local gas station and the gas station has fresher products, now today the service was sub par. It’s really to bad because Belle Plaine really need good local businesses. Just an example of high price, $0.59 for a package of ramen noodles is crazy, I just bought some at regular price at Lunds at $0.31.

Coborns always looked clean and well lit. They stock a great deal of products and have a service desk where a person can purchase balloons for kids. They have one regular check out open when I am there as well as 4 self check outs. Shopping here is always a pleasant experience.

Stopped in after visiting the candy store, and I was really surprised to find something I've never seen before, Cream of bacon soup!! Another "treasure " I found was cat nip cat toys of little mice with about 12 in the package. Very reasonable too. I will definitely be back when I'm in the mood for a little drive from Chaska.
